It occurred to me: A) They nitpicked every single thing Trump said. We all know Trump exaggerates. He says "every" for a vast majority, he says "best ever" for when things were going really well, etc.
B) It was right, and part of their duty, to say, ok, that was an exageration. But it was dishonest to call it a straight out lie as if the opposite was true.
C) They did not give Biden's words the same level of scrutiny. While Trump's tiniest comments were "fact checked", only the most glaring and egregious lies from Biden were. (Although, this potentially could be because the fact checkers were having a hard time following and understanding what Biden was saying)
D) The same companies giving you the fact checks were the ones shocked by Biden's performance when white house staffers have been sharing their concerns for months. Additionally, the ones presenting it speak in a way incredibly slanted toward Biden and against Trump.
Which leads to E) Who is checking the fact checkers?
For example, Trump specified the previous Virginia Gov. Ralph Northam when discussing abortion up to birth. Here is the quote:"If a mother is in labor, I can tell you exactly what would happen: the infant would be delivered, the infant would be kept comfortable, the infant would be resuscitated if that’s what the mother and the family desired. And then a discussion would ensue between the physicians and the mother." This was in response to a question regarding a baby born with low (more than no) chance of survival. In essence, if we don't think a newborn baby has a fighting chance (based on imperfect science with some likelihood of human error), it is perfectly fine to set it aside and let it die.
If you read the quote, before, "When we talk about third-trimester abortions, these are done with the consent of, obviously, the consent of the mother, with the consent of the physicians -- more than one physician, by the way -- and it's done in cases where there may be severe deformities. There may be a fetus that's non-viable." First, a non-viable fetus would have been miscarried, not born alive, so that last sentence is utter nonsense. Additionally, please note the carefully worded "may be". This is not a for certain, and many people who have gone through with these births have been pleasantly surprised that their baby is perfectly healthy, despite what the doctors told them in the womb. Again, while we make leaps and bounds in our technology and science regarding reproduction every decade, it is far from perfect. We should refrain from killing someone based on imperfect science.
