elli can u tell me about indirect and direct rules (narration)
We don't have a video on direct and indirect (reported) speech yet, but the same Ellii team member who wrote these videos also wrote this blog post. We also hope to make a video about this in the future. Hope it helps! ellii.com/blog/reported-speech
Is Skye’s pup tag attached to her pink collar?
Good
Thanks so much!
thank you of the france
can someone explain me how be changes into are ( plz i really need it for my presentation and i didn't understand that part)
Of course! Be changes to "are" when the subject is a plural pronoun or noun, and also with the second person singular "you." Here are some examples: you are, we are, they are, the cats are, the students are, etc. Be changes to "am" for the first person singular pronoun (I am) and "is" for the third person singular subjects he, she, and it (he is, she is, it is). Be also changes to "is" for singular countable nouns and uncountable nouns (the cat is, the student is, water is). Hope that helps and good luck with your presentation!
thank you very much
Tnx

But what about sentences like that: Have you ...? Can you...?
Hi there, we've addressed questions for other tenses (e.g., have + past participle) and modals (e.g., can + base verb) in our other grammar videos! Check out our Present Perfect video (czcams.com/video/553eeL1Dvho/video.html), Modals of Ability - Present (czcams.com/video/_facQiZDrU4/video.html) video, and any other verb tense or modal video in our Grammar Targets playlist (czcams.com/video/_facQiZDrU4/video.html) for examples of other types of Yes/No questions.
how can we answer this question " Aren't you a student? "? Should we use " Yes, I am. " or " Yes, I am not. " ?
The correct answer is "Yes, I am." This means that yes, you are a student. Sometimes we use negative questions when we're almost sure (like 90% certain) of the answer. It's a very similar case to tag questions (You are a student, aren't you? Yes, I am.). Here's our video on Tag Questions in case it helps: czcams.com/video/YTbGMGcyLPo/video.htmlsi=0ct5QjMwJ8MasIIW
@@ellii Thanks teacher
Is Ying Ying a sneaky weasel?
Did Baby Jaguar fall in the water?
What about this;
Do you like apples?
Yes, I like apples.
Is this correct?
Yes, that's correct! You can say "Yes, I like apples" or "Yes, I do" or "Yes."
Por favor lo hubieras expricado en ESPAÑOL

Pero si el video está super entendible?!
Does your father like to cook?
Or do your father like to cook?
Does for she, he it
While do for I, you, we , they
You got it!
@@ellii where is the correct one?
@@oktaarlinharefa7557 The correct answer is "Does your father like to cook?" We use "does" for he, she, it, singular count nouns (like "father"), and non-count nouns (like "rain"). We use "do" for I, you, we, they, and plural count nouns (like "parents").
Yes I'm
Just a reminder that for short replies, the contracted form "I'm" is not correct. The correct response is "Yes, I am."
@@elliiwhy not correct teacher?
@@hange.z3158 Short responses can't end in a contraction when they're positive/affirmative. We can't say "Yes, I'm / Yes, you're / Yes, he's / etc." I'm not 100% sure why we can't, but my guess is that it's difficult to hear a contraction in a response because it's so short. It's interesting, though, because we CAN do this with negative forms, but maybe this is because they're a bit longer and easier to hear. For example, it's not correct to say "Yes, you're" but it is correct to say "No, you aren't" (or "No, you're not").
@@ellii Alright, thanks teacher 👍
Is Skye Seven years old?
Good example! Note that we would never capitalize a number. "Is Skye seven years old?" is correct. 😊
Does Ali eat lunch?
Great example!
Want to send this to my wife but I'm scared.
Don't be scared! We all have to start somewhere.
Why are u scared 😅
Are you smart?
Good example of a Yes/No question!
Yes ❤
Yes I am
Not I undertand
The correct sentence is "I don't understand." And we're sorry to hear that! Try our Benji, Pronunciation, or Phonics Stories playlists for easier videos. www.youtube.com/@ellii/playlists
Do you like cats
Good example of a Yes/No question!
Does George Washington have a birthday?
This example is grammatically correct, but it doesn't make much sense. Every person has a birthday. The better, more natural question is a Wh- question such as "When is George Washington's birthday?" But good try!
Thankyou sir❤❤❤
