What JRPG on switch do you think will be stupid priced in the future?
I wouldn't be surprised if one of the NIS collection become painfully priced.
I just preordered the 3rd actually.
I have a feeling 13 Sentinels (specifically the switch version), will become expensive eventually. Atlus games have a pretty consistent history of getting pricey overtime.
@@Kenko_4 honestly that is a fantastic point. Gonna remember that for future episodes!
How many flights do you have a day?
I have learned that pretty much anything from NISA, ATLUS, Gust, Falcom etc goes up in value.
Gosh it’s so true, thanks for sharing that tip
Yo be fair NISA promises quality
@@theazureeyedaassassin885 NIS makes 90% terrible games with a 10% success rate lol
Just finished Ys Origin on my PS5. Today, it actually might be that one has played Bastion before a game like Ys Origin. But if you like one, definitely play the other. Both have replay ability
The older Atelier games actually have pretty tight time limits in what you can do each day, week, or map instance. From sophie 1 onwards the time limits to do stuff got removed completely so those are the most recommended to get into as someone playing atelier for the first time. As they say, Sophie started it, Ryza perfected it, Sophie 2 followed it. Mana Khemia is still my favorite of the Atelier games though. :)
Yeah I still haven't tried any of the older Atelier games yet that had it. They sound extremely cool tho. Thanks for sharing!
Wait, so what was that Atelier Sophie that I played that have the time limit?
Mana Khemia!!!!
The Atelier Ryza games are some of the best switch ports hands down. They look gorgeous and run perfectly.
I’d also highly reccomend blue reflection second light
I’m excited to try the blue reflection on switch. Thanks for sharing!
I wonder if we’ll ever get the first game on switch considering how expensive the PS4 copy is. And to think I actually owned it at one point and sold it before it got expensive 😢
Never even heard of Dusk Diver before despite having the Switch since 2018 but the visuals have peaked my interest! I’ve been craving for some non-turn based JRPG since playing 4 Atelier games back to back
That’s an awesome gauntlet of Atelier games! But I’m so stoked Dusk Diver has caught your attention! Hope ya have fun with it and you’ll have to let me know what ya think. Have an awesome week!
@@HallowedBeThyGame i’m glad i clicked on this video! If not, I would have never known about Dusk Diver. Though I need to ask, you mentioned a little bit of lag in the games. Is the lag noticeable in combat or just walking around the area? I don’t mind a drop in frame rate when I’m wandering from place to place but it might be distracting in combat.
So glad to put it on your radar! But yeah the lag can be distracting in the main cities but I never felt the combat had distracting lag in combat.
@@HallowedBeThyGame awesome! As long as it doesn’t disrupt the combat itself, I’m all for it 😁
The devs definitely reccomended downloading the Day 1 Patch for both games. I actually believe that someone showed the faults of the game if you do not download the Day 1 patch for the original Dusk Driver.
I don't know if it's gone up in price in the west but in my country, Shining Resonance: Refrain was still affordable.
It's only $25-$30 physically and there are still some stores here that give out the day one freebies like the clear folders and the cleaning cloth.
Phenomenal recommendation too! Thanks for sharing this and I really liked Shining Resonance.
Got it last week at Game Stop for $29.99
Thanks for that! I have several of the games you mentioned and I am picking up several others which you mentioned, that I didn't have. You did mentioned Sword Art Online: Hollow Realization (which I just ordered), but another that I am picking up for the switch from the same series, which you didn't mention, is Sword Art Online: Fatal Bullet (from Amazon). Also one more game you didn't mention, that I just received today from Amazon, it's also on the Switch, YS Origin. I appreciate you and the information you shared. Thanks again.
Thanks so much for your shares and I’m hoping those stay affordable priced Bc I plan to discuss some of those coming up! Hope you have a blast with Hollow Realization!
Just got my Switch last month so I'm super behind with all these goodies. Thanks for taking the time to compile these awesome list.
Dude that's awesome! Congrats! I"m so happy for you and I can't wait to hear what games you pick up. Definitely keep me posted!
An excellent video! I’m 100% a physical-copy gamer whenever possible and it is a shame how much prices continue to jump up. So yeah, I think that you’re right - for a lot of these, we just have to be ahead of the game. I need to jump on about half of the games that you listed here. So thank you for the info on these titles! :)
I’m so happy you enjoyed! And yeah scalpers can take a lotta fun out of collecting or even getting games you may not have known about. Have an excellent weekend, and you’ll have to tel me what you think of these games if you get some!
The art style and characters of Tales of Vesperia was just top tier! Completed this on switch about two weeks ago. Didn’t have any issues or crashing during my playthrough so it’s good to know they’ve patched it well. Been wanting to check out trials of mana. Gonna have to add that to the list ASAP! Been seeing you mention the Dusk Diver games a lot lately and it has my Segablocks senses tingling. They look phenomenal! Dude it’s always nonstop! So many amazing games to discover! We gamers are eating good! Awesome games mentioned and once again thanks for giving me some homework to do 🤘🙏❤️
That’s awesome man! So happy you completed Vesperia and that it has had its issues resolved! I really hope you enjoy Dusk Diver and Trials of Mana if you give them a go. Hope you have a fantastic week and thanks for stopping by!
Trials of mana is badly optimized. It causes my switch and ps4 to both ramp up the fan speed. Not super noticeable on the switch in handheld mode but my ps4 slim fan runs at full tilt and I don't have any other game that does that.
Excellent list. I'm onboard with your thinking. I would add Astral Chain, although it is creeping to upper end of affordable.
Gosh it is so good! One of my all time favorite switch games, excellent recommendation!
Lots of great games in here that I haven’t played! I’m really interested in Dusk Diver now! I gotta look into that!
I hope you have fun with it!
The Atelier games are generally Hidden Gems at the very least and a PIA to get physical copies of; particularly the DX remakes for Switch, which never got North American physical releases.
I enjoy them as they generally have that "Working Class" or "Everyday" Hero vibe going for them that's a welcome change from the usual character origins.
That’s an excellent description and yeah I’m wanting to play the first Sophie game but keep talking myself out of the trilogy cart. Positive I’ll live to regret this haha.
@@HallowedBeThyGame I grabbed the digital versions of the trilogy Sophie was part of. Haven't really dug in as I'm still playing other games.
Thanks for the video, I really enjoy your positivity! You've just cost me a few quid though, luckily they're just as affordable here in the UK
I’m so glad they are affordable in the UK too! Thanks for watching and so happy you enjoyed the video!
Really great topic! Atelier Ryza is a particularly good suggestion imo since Gust games can get crazy with prices. I still want to pick the few games I don't have of theirs sooner rather than later so I don't have to worry about that 😅
I haven't played too many JRPGs that would fit this category (most I've played are not on Switch or not affordable on Switch) but there's a Cat Quest I & II pack that's pretty reasonably priced atm. Both are two really cute, breezy, and funny action RPGs that I really enjoyed :) Oh and I haven't played them yet but it looks like the Digimon Cyber Sleuth pack is also still really affordable!
I am learning quickly that Gust games are crazy expensive after awhile haha. But that's a great suggestion about Cat Quest 1 and 2! I hear nothing but praise about these and I think they are just now getting physical releases on switch or at least a reprint. If there's enough interest in another video in this series I'd love to talk about Cyber Sleuth. Thanks again for sharing!
I had no idea there was a dusk diver 2!! I have the first game with the art book and pins and I fell in love with the game! Looking forward to hunting for the second one
Yah! Another Dusk Diver fan is watching! Yeah you can actually preorder the US copy of the 2nd one on amazon and Idea Factory International's website. There is also the Japanese version from Play Asia. Hope you have as much fun with the 2nd as I did!
This was such a fun video to watch and I'm looking forward to future videos in the series. I'm thankful to be in a situation where I can choose the best performing version of a game (if available), so sometimes I opt for the PS4/5 version over the switch (like Ryza 1 & 2 for example). Generally the PS4 versions are cheaper than the switch version too. I actually grabbed Dusk Diver 1 because of your enthusiasm in your review and have preordered the PS5 version of Dusk diver 2 coming out later this year.
A couple of switch JRPGs that I suggest people grab are Monster Hunter Stories 2 and the Collection of Mana. Stories 2 has a fun turn based battle system and the art style is very appealing. Stories 1 has jumped up a lot in price (3DS), but thankfully you don't need to play it to understand 2.
I love your recommendations and need to pick them up as well! I’m also getting the ps5 version of Dusk Diver 2! Hope you have as much fun with it as I did! But yeah the switch tax is a very real and very painful thing lol. I’m going game hunting this weekend for some PS4 titles and I’m excited Bc they are usually cheaper than switch. Thanks for watching!
@@HallowedBeThyGame Good luck game hunting! Looking forward to whenever the next pickups video is
@@Kenko_4 thanks! Hope you have an awesome weekend too 🤘
Beat the first duskdiver and loved it. Definitely gonna check out the sequel. Glad someone is loving them as much as I did.
Good golly I do love them! So happy a fan is watching!
living in Taiwan for 2yrs as a foreign student, I just realized that Dusk Diver is based on Taiwan's most notorious night market "Ximending" ... after a quick search the company JFI Games is also based in Taiwan wow... just realized that some game companies although not from Japan, can deliver such amazing quality content 👍 good job man! I'll try some of these esp the Dusk Diver one & the Tales ones, as it looks most interesting to me... kudos to you man!
Woh that’s so cool! I want to visit there actually. Hope you have a blast with it!
This was a great video, subbed! Also you reminded me I need to get back into my Tales of Berseria platinum playthrough lol. Thank you :)
So happy to have ya! Thanks for watching and hope ya have a blast with Berseria!
@@HallowedBeThyGame Thanks and no problem!!
1:00 i love the name of your channel and love how you spoke about those stupid scalpers re sellers whatever they are called those people buy everything then re sell at a high price i HATE it! I cant affordable to buy every game but i wish i could! Watching your video youtube reccomend your channel too me :) very happy to have found it excited to see all these games!!!
I’m so happy you found the channel! Hope you enjoy the videos and I agree, scalpers are the worst lol
Those are some good recommendations dude
So glad you thot so!
I also got into the Atelier series with Ryza and imported the Dusk and Mysteryous trilogies. I beat Ryza 1 & 2 and now I'm playing Atelier Sophie to jump into Sophie 2.
Also I'd recommend Metallic Child, it's quite addictive and simple.
Nice I haven't heard of Metallic Child so that's awesome. yeah I really need to pick up Sophie 1 and 2. Looks fantastic!
Followed your advice and got Tales of Vesperia at $5, great game for that sale
Speaking about Nintendo Switch airport woes, I remember when I was heading out to the mid-west and was in an airport trying to download the SMTV JP voice pack because it wasn't on the cart lol. After a half a month of travel I beat the game's 4th ending on the first full day of being home. It was truly a different experience (MClassic + capture card to OBS + 1440P monitor, docked) setting up Switch battle station in CWA (smallest airport I've ever been in).
Haha I feel your pain but that’s awesome you got al 4 endings! I just did true ending, law and chaos but gat dang I love the battle system in smt v. So good! Thanks for sharing!
Great video dude! mostly a fighting game/platformer fan but love to play JRPG's when i get chance and i totally know what you mean by the price can suddenly shoot up ^^
I know it is can get insane. But thanks for watching and I want to get better at fighting games haha I’m hot garbage at them 😂
@@HallowedBeThyGame lol welcome dude and fighting games are like anything else really, just need to pick one and stick at if for a while... i can recommend tekken or guilty gear strive since they are a little more beginner friendly, ether way keep up the good content! ^^
@@onilao guilty gear looks awesome, I’m gonna have to buckle down and commit. Thanks for the recommendations!
dusk diver has me intrigued, ill check it out.
Hope ya enjoy!
Atelier Sophie 2: The Alchemist of the Mysterious Dream is a good one to grab too. Unfortunately, you can only get the first one in a three pack that is way out of my budget.
I need to just take the plunge and pick them up. I hear they are fantastic tho. Wish they’d release Sophie by itself. Thanks for sharing!
you get 3 Atelier games full with all DLC for like 33 bucks each so I think the trilogy packs are well worth it but I understand it is still a steep amount to drop at once. Atelier Sophie 2 is kind enough to summarize the first game for new users. I only put like 2 hours into the first Atelier Sophie but I am enjoying Atelier Sophie 2 just as much as Atelier Ryza 2.
That trilogy its already 200 bucks on amazon.
I got sophie 1 for 20 bucks on the eshop and bought a used copy of lydie&suelle for 50 bucks. Firis couldnt care less.
@@koxame My friend! Play-asia is your friend! I am not sponsored by them but it is in stock and 99 bucks.
Tokyo Mirage Session (Atlus) , Shin Megami Tensei 5 (the 3ds titles form smt are so expensive) and one of the best indie Rpgs Cross Code.
Loving some smt fans commenting here and I need to get on Cross Code, looks sweet
For anyone wondering when it's the right time to buy these games, I would definitely recommend buying them once the "switch 2" comes out. When the nintendo 3ds came out the price for nintendo ds games dropped so much I was able to buy dragon quest games for 25 USD
I bought Dusk Diver a few months back after seeing it on sale and looking up some "It's pretty decent" reviews. It seemed like the kind of flawed game that I'd love, like Gravity Rush.
Thank you for informing me of the sequel. I'm even more hyped to eventually play the first one.
Rock on! Hope you enjoy as much as I did!
I got astria ascending day one and love it. Another one that's good and I have a strong feeling it will be ridiculously expensive in the future is Undernauts
That's a very good point, i need to pick that one up still
i would suggest crosscode, its an ARPG that plays like the old 2d Zelda titles. it's almost perfect imho, great longevity, great story, great gameplay, beautiful pixel art. and it's cheap
I'll check it out! It looks right up my alley too, thanks for the suggestion!
Crosscode is the only Switch game that got me to call out sick at work.
Dunno if they ever fixed the bug, but do NOT make multiple save files in crosscode for the switch. It's known to corrupt your save data (including me 🙃). Killed my drive to ever play the game again, despite being a pretty good game.
@@xenghuong wow that's super unfortunate I'm glad to know not to do that though! As someone who doesn't like JRPGs much at all I like crosscode quite a bit, it's definitely gonna be a cult classic indie game eventually so check it out
Nice video :)
Thanks!
Another awesome list of suggestions! I've been burned a couple of times in the past for some jrpgs so I'm now also playing the guessing game on what could become super expensive in the future! Remember the 1st Blue Reflection game on PS4? Well I didn't wait for the sequel to get to that price and I bought it on day 1! Will it become as pricey as it's predecessor? Who knows, but I wasn't willing to take that chance! I'm waiting for Dusk Diver 2 NTSC version as I had a bad experience with Play Asia so it will take a while before they get my money again! Some titles on here that I don't own so I've taken some notes! Great video and keep up the good work!
Nice! The preorders for the NTSC of Dusk Diver 2 just opened yesterday and you can preorder on Amazon. Thanks for watching!
@@HallowedBeThyGame Thanks for letting me know! I just went and pre-ordered it on PS5!
Heck ya!
I still think Tokyo Mirage Session #FE has a huge potential to spike in price in the future. It's really good and fun RPG with nice cast of characters and very good art style and music. It's only problem are SMT and FE fans.
TMS rocks, excellent recommendation.
Personally I never really got why most of the fans hate it so much. Those are 2 of my 5 favorites franchises but I still found TMS enjoyable
subscribed excellent video
So happy you enjoyed it!
RPG + affordable. Possibly my favourite combination of words 😉 I used to be super into only buying PAL releases, but that's so last decade 🤣 Might check out the Sword Art games, I did enjoy the Anime. I know nothing about Dusk Diver. Will have a look at them 😎👍
Affordable and JRPG are my kryptonite haha. Glad some of these caught your eye!
I just found out about Dusk Diver and they look like fun, might try them soon.
Hope you enjoy them! I love those games
Awesome list so many fantastic Jrpgs, if only we all had more time xD. Got to give a shout out to Neo: The World Ends with You. such a good game that sadly did not sell well, so it's cheap at the moment & demo progress carrys to the full game.
Thanks! Gosh fantastic suggestion as well! There’s not enough time to get all the games sadly lol. But I really appreciate the communities input to try and not miss some of the crucial deals.
Found this thanks to the often unforgiving youtube algorithm. Really enjoyed the video! Subbed and look forward to checking out more!
Psyched you found the channel and enjoyed the video! Thanks for subbing and have an awesome weekend 🤘
There are 4 that I would seriously consider adding to this list:
1. Shin Megami Tensei 3.
2. Shin Megami Tensei 5.
3. Mary Skelter 3.
4. Digimon Story Cyber Sleuth complete edition. That includes the base game and the side game Hacker's Story.
Excellent recommendations and I need to play Mary Skelter. Thanks for sharing!
@@HallowedBeThyGame Not sure if it is still listed...but Mary Skelter 2 on the E-Shop came with the original Mary Skelter free.
I know you like to buy physical and I am there with you...but it is a real steal. Game is hard and has a ton of fan service...something I like in some JRPG's...it is very Japanese thing to do. But yeah, just found your channel today, dude. Keep up the great work!
Woh that's great to know! Thanks so much for the heads up and so happy you found the channel and are enjoying it!
@@HallowedBeThyGame My pleasure, dude. Some other games to keep an eye on would be the Trails Of Cold Steel games. Absolutely epic, lore and text heavy with great characters. Only issue is only 3 and 4 have made it onto Switch so far due to 1 and 2 having a different translation team in the west. But those games will likely be worth a lot in the future (even more if the original two get ported) as the franchise is really picking up steam over here in JRPG fan circles.
I was very hesitant on alterlier ryza series. Then i saw it on ps4 now. Picked it up and i was addicted. Instantly picked it up on switch
That’s awesome! Stoked to see another fan!
Great video! I only have the PS4 physical copy of Trails of Mana. Would you happen to do a '10 Affordable JRPGs for the PS4/PS5'?
I’m glad to know there’s interest! That’s a great idea, thank you!
@@HallowedBeThyGame Anytime! JRPGs can be very pricey these days, so it is very nice of you to take the time to research which JRPGs are still affordable. Let me know if you need any help on this! Cheers.
I will definitely hit you up if I hit a roadblock! And yeah the prices are getting insane for some of these titles.
@@HallowedBeThyGame @Hallowed Be Thy Game Of course, prices are insane these days! Have yourself a great day!
I love this video idea! I collect JRPGs for that very reason. Because they might soon be super expensive and that would be it for my dream of playing them. Emulation is always a option, but for me it doesn't feel the same so it is the last thing I do.
My gf always asks me why I buy games I don't play the moment I buy them, but I try to build a backlog that I can work on without feeling like I'm missing out of some true gems.I wouldn't do that if these games would not end up costing like 5 times the original price
I hear ya, and it happens so often anymore. Insane how crazy the reselling market has gotten
I'm lucky enough to have both Atelier Ryza games AND to beat them both. They're both a bunch of fun and whimsical titles that no Switch gamer should be without.
Outside of those two, I am glad to have the Fate/Extella games on Switch, along with Tales of Vesperia and Trials of Mana. I may go for that Sword Art Online title just for the hell of it.
Hope ya have fun with Sword Art Online if ya give it a shot!
the Trials of Mana remaster introduced me to the Mana series as a whole, there's a bundle(that's physical and digital) of the very first Mana game(can't remember the name at the moment, but it's old school FF1 style), Secret of Mana(not the remaster) and Trials of Mana(again, not the remaster)
the menu screens and selecting items is a little bit clunky, it definitely takes some getting used to, but they're all very good games as far as i've played and seen
the sprite work is great, battle is the same(action gauge basically), plus it's three games for the proce of one now days
I own God Eater 3 but I’ve never played it. Now that you say “Freedom Wars for PS Vita,” I am starting a download. Thank you for that information.
Hope ya enjoy!
I just want to say I didn’t know The world ends with you Neo wasn’t a port of the first game until I bought it and it seems awesome
I've got to say that Trials of Mana is such a respectful remake. When seeing other remakes that just want to overhaul what made the original what it was, you get one like this that just utterly loves and respects it. They just made the game look way better and made it the best way to experience that world and story. I've only played some of the games on this list, but i agree with the ones I do know. There's a lot of great stuff in there.
I think this was a great video! I'm very happy with my collection of games on the 3ds, but there are still a few jrpgs I would love to get before the eShop closes. It's always sad when you feel like you're really missing out on something! And I don't want that to happen with the Switch! I would really love to get Dusk Diver 2. How is the English and translation for the Play Asia version? Can't decide if I should go with that one or wait for the official release. I do still prefer physical games, especially on Switch because it seems like my SD Card is constantly running out of space. And sometimes it's hard to pass up a digital sale when it's much cheaper than the physical version!
I totally get ya and I feel bad making videos like this because I hate the fear of missing out too, but wanted to give some cheaper options and stuff of games that haven't immediately sold out physically. But yeah I felt the english translation from play asia was awesome but one reason to wait is because the dlc outfits and such like that weren't accessible yet in the states. So it might be worth waiting for the Idea Factory release if that is something you like to tinker around with. Thanks for watching!
@@HallowedBeThyGame It's just sad that some games sky rocket in price. I missed out on a physical copy of Torna! At least digital is still an option, I'm just happy if I get to still play these amazing games. Okay, I think I will wait for that release then because I really love having different outfits in games! Thanks for helping me decide. I might go ahead and pick up the Fate Extella Games though. Do you think they are both different enough that it's worth playing both or is one better than the other in your opinion?
@@bergster30 great question! Honestly as much as I love both they are very similar in a lot of ways. I’d definitely recommend Umbral Star though as it is first and longer.
@@HallowedBeThyGame Awesome, thanks for your help! Love getting your advice and talking about games, especially because we seem to enjoy a lot of the same games! Also wanted to mention that your mic quality sounded really good in this video, not sure if you did anything different but maybe the other youtube videos I was watching before just didn't sound as good.
Yah! I’m happy the game rooms audio is better. I used to record in random or weird places. It’s a blast chatting about games with you!
Koei
Atelier Ryza i never seen this gane its beautiful 😍 the first ones affordable atm but the 2nd one is currently over 100 on amazon... im terrible at turn base games i would love to learn turn base but i get frustrated when i stand there and get hit and cant hit back until its my turn... wish it was action rpg but Atelier looks like a must have before prices go up up up.... lol like i mention on my videos lol THANK YOU FOR THE GREAT VIDEO glad i came across yoir channel as i was feeding my cats :) sorry about a thousand comments bad habit of msg when im watching and comparing prices lol .. oh btw have u played the ps3 Atelier games?? U should do best of ps3 games before prices go up up up and away...... lol
I didn't know there was a Dusk Diver 2, i gotta look into that the first game was fun.
Yah! Hope you have a blast with it!
Good video 👍🏻
Suscribed 💯
Thank you! Glad you have ya!
Got a hard crash on Vesperia last week unfortunately. Still loving it though
Ugh that sucks it's still happening but yeah I still loved it too lol
You don't need wifi connection with your primary Switch to verify ownership. I use my Switch Lite at work all the time without wifi
Atelier Ryza: Ever Darkness and the Secret Hideout and Atelier Ryza 2: Lost Legends and the Secret Fairy are on sale right now up til August 3rd for 30€ the first (5,9 GB), the second for 36€ (6,7GB), and also the Deluxes Edition of both games the first one Digital Deluxe Edition for 37,49€ (6 GB) and the second one Digital Deluxe Edition for 45€ (7,7 GB). Which one would you people recommend to pick up?
I love both of these games so much but I think my heart will always gravitate towards the 1st entry to pickup. Hope you enjoy!
@@HallowedBeThyGame And what do you think about Valkyrie Chronicles 4 for 15€? I am somewhat in a shoping spree but I don't want to buy compulsevily, I've gotten Tales of Vesperia so far so what do you think about the Valkyrie Chronicles 4?
Thanks for this video, very informative and interesting. However, I don't quite understand what you said about digital download games, I often play them without wifi and never had any issues.
Yeah I’ve had some others comment this too. I get it wanting to check if I own my digital games if I am not on WiFi. But maybe I just have some weird setting on.
It only happens if the Switch you're playing on isn't set as your Primary console. I hope this helps answer your question, Apatt.
@@GuitarPhoenix713 Thanks, Seth 😊
I have atelier ryza and I love the art and it controls well but I don't like it for some reason which makes me sad but I will definitely check out dusk diver games they look fantastic so thanks for letting me know about them
Atelier Ryza - "They have BIG personalities".....yeah, let's go with personalities
Yuge personalities
I love JRPG’s I’ve been playing Bravely Default II & Blue Reflection: Second Light both are amazing idk if this is just me but I find JRPG to be like my fave type of cozy games. Also have been playing Final Fantasy X/X-2 HD remastered ✨❤️☺️ awesome list!! I’ll be sure to check out some of these 👏🏽👏🏽
Also really enjoying Sword Art Online Hollow Realization SAO is one of my favorite anime’s I’ve also seen God Eater haven’t played the game yet though
I completely agree, they are for sure my comfort food in gaming haha. Thanks so much for those recommendations and I am honestly wanting to get both, but especially Blue Reflection: Second Light. Looks awesome!
@@HallowedBeThyGame Awesome 👏🏽 🙂
Blue Reflection: Second Light has actually been talked about by the voice actors in interviews even before the game got acknowledged by the company. They already said that even thoguh the game can get beaten within a certain amount of time, you are not going to remember any of the details. Also the game is already set in stone when it comes to how the game functions regarding the items needed to be collected per heartscape, with an interview very clearly showing a chart of the heartscape sorted our by chapter number and the other cretria; located at the section afte the interview is over. Also the combat for the game takes getting used to, and you will more than likely heal yourself or break your chain than actually cause damage to the enemies. There is already a set level that the voice actors said that the person playing the game should be at to make it through the game a whole easier. Also YOU HAVE TO DOWNLOAD THE DEMO OF THE GAME TO GET THE ITEM ADDED INTO YOUR INVENTORY!!!! I somehow came across the item through playing it online, and the game would not let me pick it up saying something like a demo will be released sometime in the future to make the item actually get added into your inventory section of the game. All I could do was see the effect of the item every time I went up to it afterwards. Also the item from pre-orderong the game can still be picked up following certain steps, with the people who already have received it are unable to pick it up with a message being clearly displayed inside of the game.
I am honestly telling the truth here, and I also found the proof inside of the game for the details regarding the pre-order bonus item in the game. Even the demo itself says that it will get added into your inventory once you complete it, I think; I have not completed it myself yet.
@@joshernsteen2066 ok?
Is the xbox 360 Tales of Vesperia the same as the Tales of Vasperia you mentioned? Do you know...
It is the same as the Xbox version
Yes, some dusk diver love!!
Omg another fan!
I purchased this game for $8 on the switch I couldn't believe it was so cheap and good. I'm currently about 10 hours in and loving it.
6:12 Hey man, like the vids, I just subbed! But I just wanted to say that what you said about flying with the switch is very silly lmao, because that's literally the point of airplane mode. Just hold the home button & tap it, then your switch can't connect to the internet. If you still prefer physical that's cool but I just thought I'd leave a hot tip in case you didn't know
It turns out it’s because I have 2 switches and one isn’t set to home. It runs drm checks constantly if you go to open or suspend game session. But yeah airplane mode rocks and I’m happy you subbed! Thanks!
@@HallowedBeThyGame Ohh, that makes sense. Np man thanks for responding 🙂
I definitely think Ys 8 also deserved to be on this list
I’ve since seen some affordable EU copies. It’s an incredible game
Trials of Mana is SO underrated.
Gosh it is isn’t it?!
It's a better remake than FF7Remake. Released around the same time, was a complete game with options to play it at least 3 more times for the different final bosses and character classes.
Just picked up bravely default 2 at best buy for 25 and persona 5 royal at gamestop for 29. What a great day.
I know these were not mentioned but i hope they plan to release the star ocean games on the switch. There is the original available, the switch could certainly have the rest as well.
That would be an incredible addition!
This list is good for people who only have a switch to play these games on. for PC players all these games are available via steam with the exception of fate/ESTELLA the umbral star. There is a fate Extella game however and fate/extella link. I'm unsure if umbral star is supposed to be a sort of game of the year edition of fate/extella or if its legit a third game.
Yeah steam players live in the land of plenty for jrpgs, so good! But yeah I wondered the same thing about those two Bc they are really different except for a lot of the main systems. But yeah thanks for watching!
@@HallowedBeThyGame Are they really? I dug a bit into looking up info on the game for fate/Extella The Umbral Star and I found their main website advertising it. The website stated it was the umbral star and it had a link to steam which linked to the page that didn't claim it as the umbral star so I was thinking they are both technically the same game but for some reason the drop the umbral star part of the name for steam.
@@raventhorX yeah that’s weird like the stories and fight order was different for them but same engine and models so maybe their are linked more then I realized haha 😂
Cris Tales is affordable and a pretty solid game. Worth a look
Thanks so much for the recommendation and putting this game back on my radar! Looked really good.
Note: Please, don't try to 100% Ryza 2 and accomplish it a tiny bit at a time, because some of the extra padding is just killer to enjoying it
Ok that is really good to know, thanks for the heads up!
God eater 3 is the best god eater (I played all 3, but I am just casual and not those speedrunner min maxer or whatever. ) the only game I ever platinumed on PS4. Worth!
Heck ya! That's awesome!
Atelier Dusk trilogy is my goat from the series x
Are there any Atelier Ryza physical releases with all the DLC?
I sadly don’t know the answer to that. I don’t believe so from what I’ve seen.
Tales of Vesperia is great. I have the PS4 version.
Good RPGs to add to my collection. I gotta start investing in an SD card. Gotta download all my digital to keep em safe.
I know what ya mean, I follow Wario64 on Twitter and I wanna say he has tweeted out deals for sd cards not infrequently.
@@HallowedBeThyGame Thanks for the info! Probably not going to be able to take advantage though as I am from another country. I just started finsihing Ryza 1. Going to get Ryza 2 next but physically this time. I had a phase that I only bought digital due to e-shop sales but I guess I just love physical copies that much that I just bought SRW T even when there was no discount.
@@upsidedownmachiatto2670 I totally get it, eshop sales are fantastic. I follow SwitchCorner and it's tough to argue with those deals. And I've actually been wanting to pick up SRW T. Hope you enjoy Ryza 2 as much as I did, so hopeful for a 3rd!
@@HallowedBeThyGame Back after the news of the 3rd installment of Ryza. My backlog just keeps expanding but I am all up for it.
I'm going to retry Tales of Vesperia, the first time I just couldn't get on with it second time lucky!
Hope it clicks with ya this time! I just love Yuri, he's so cool. Have fun!
Dragon Quest 11, Final Fantasy 7 and 8 on the same cartridge, FInal Fantasy 9,10/10-2, and 12 are also all available on the switch.
Some absolute classic here, great recommendations!
Atelier Ryza is great. If you have the money, grab they Atelier "Mysterious" Trilogy. It is eventually going to skyrocket in price for the amount of content that you get in it.
I can totally see that happening. I need to quit talking myself out of it and get that and Sophie 2. Thanks for the recommendation!
I bought Dusk Diver for PS4 and im really enjoying it. Also got a thicc smexy box with an awesome artbook and some pins inside. Its a really cool edition and you wont get stuff like this with digital garbage.
God I love that game. The CE is cool too. Glad you’re enjoying it!
I know it's late, but I'll drop a rec for Blue Reflection Second Light, and Shadowverse.
Awesome recommendations I need to play
0:14 What game is the anime swordswoman from?
Ys 8
Got most of the atelier games on ps4 but got both triple packs for switch. Feel they would look better on the more powerful hardware but still got the switch exclusive copys. You should have put crystar for switch the ps4 version blew through the roof. If blue reflection 2 goes up like first it be worth some. I would pick up the prinny classic collections as well they probably wount spike until long down road. Having the best available versions of all the games remastered and enhanced well worth. I feel they will follow disgaea 4 and 5s path will spike when people stop seeing then in stores. Vol3 for collection was also announced for fall.
Excellent points all around. I actually just pre-ordered Vol3 of the prinny collection this week and I appreciate the warning about Blue Reflection 2.
One last comment because of my habit to comment as the video's going and not collecting my thought into one comment at the end.
The atelier entries I'd recommend are Iris 3 and Mana Khemia 1 and 2. I know they're not on the switch but boy did I love those 3 back on the PS2
As for a JRPG I'd recommend that I usually see with a cheaper price more times than not, the one that comes to mind is Dragon Quest 11 and a game I come across from time to time called Shining Resonance refrain.
Dusk Diver series needs to be more popular!!!
Never heard of Dusk Diver definitely on my buy list its more affordable on amazon then playasia atm
Hope you have a blast with it!
@@HallowedBeThyGame Thank you :)
WAIT there is a Dusk Diver 2??? thx for the info
No problem! Hope you have a blast with it!
The Switch only needs to verify digital purchases if your Switch is not your primary Switch. To make it the primary unit, go to the eShop on your current primary Switch, go to the settings in the top right, then scroll down until you see the option to remove its primary status. Then, just go to the eShop on the Switch you want to take portably.
It's literally never an issue if you know how to change that setting...
Some of these games go on sale for like $6 in the eshop. Maybe it's time to get over the physical thing.
whe you werw talking about the dusk diver games being fun, well made games with poor frame rates, it made me think of persona 5 strikers. I got it super cheap brand new, around $40 AUD which would be around $28 USD which is really bang for the buck. IThis was a few months ago, but if the game is trending on the cheap side, it would be a bargain! Like the dusk games, it suffers from frame rates, but it is super stylish and has alot of the persona 5 flair.
Oh that's awesome! I love P5 Strikers and totally agree. I got it at release so I didn't even know it had come down in price. That's an amazing recommendation!
Hey i picked up the mana collection for the switch it has trials of Mana but it looks different then this one .... im assuming they re made it for the ps4... The Tales series i would love to pick up... watching your video :) i like to comment and watch lol bad habit lol
No apologies needed at all! The mana collection has a localized version of the original Japanese release. The newer version is a remake with a whole new design.
@@HallowedBeThyGame im still watching your video it takes me a while cuz i pause cuz my kids lol.. But ya i noticed that those games were different the ps4 trails of Mana looks very different on the ps4 the the mana collection on the switch glad i saw it because im working editing my video for my channel on the switch mana collection and i assumed the ps4 trails of mana game was the same as the one in the mana collection. The secret of mana on the switch collection is the same as the ps4 version... the legends if mana isnt on the collection on the switch... I prefer to buy physical games i find it pointless to download unless its a cute cat game that will never be physical lol...
Thanks for the quick reply back ... i was filming bits last night of the switch Mana but i was also a bit sick lol and i didnt film much just wanted to show a bit of each game... if u like my channel subscribe im not a pro like you 😀
It is really tough to keep up with what version is on which collection so it can be all really confusing but either way that is an awesome collection of games that I picked up as well! So cool. Also I just checked out your channel! Really cool stuff!
@@HallowedBeThyGame Thank you 😀 im not a professional youtube i dont have any high tech stuff just a broken cell phone with a cracked screen i film edit on my cell. But thank you for the lovely words :)
Buen video.
The best way to deal with scalpers is a pillowcase full of doorknobs.
Aww, Atelier Ryza still seems expensive to me. I wonder if there was a low point at some point, but I haven't picked it up because I'm still working through PS3 Atelier games.
Atelier Ryza has two BIG personalities, all right.
Thicc
Dusk Diver 2 is coming August 30th to the US Sweet
So friggin hyped it's finally happening
Surprised to not see Digimon Story Cyber Sleuth Complete Edition not on here. Most Digimon games tend to get higher in price the older they get.
For SAO games, Fatale Bullet has to be the best one in my opinion.
It's really good, and my favorite as well.
i think anoter shout out game, is Ni No Kuni. Great game at a very great price!
Excellent recommendation! Gosh that game is so gorgeous and definitely hits hard.
