Mad respect for the hard work you put into this channel and these lists, Ren. I've gotten a handful of games off of your suggestions. Keep up the excellent work!
Wow that's so awesome to hear! So happy you've found some games and I appreciate the feedback!
Man, I love videos like this.
I don't know how hidden they are, but the Cat Quest games were a ton of fun.
Simple action-RPGs loaded with silliness and goofy puns. They are available physically in a double pack, and the second has couch co-op.
So happy you are enjoying them! Thanks for letting me know! I have got to dive into Cat Quest, thanks so much for reminding me!
Loving these videos! I felt like I was running out of stuff to play on my switch, but you've help me fill my backlog. Thanks!
Your “Hidden Gem” series is the coverage of Switch titles I didn’t know I needed. I swear, you’ve sold me on $250.00 worth of games that I never would have noticed.
So happy you’ve been able to find some great games you like! Thanks for the support!
DUDE! I fully love your content! Like a few others down here, I had straight up bought (or added to the wish list) several games based entirely on your recommendations. I am very grateful for your channel, keep it coming man!
Thank you so much for the feedback and letting me know! Hope you have a great day!
I enjoyed this video so much!! Glad it was in my feed. Liked and subscribed. Please continue this... and take all the time you need to upload the next video. It takes time to form and select a true hidden gem.
Daemon X Machina sure shows lots of love for Mecha anime. For example, right on the second mission appears two super soldiers who saves the mission. Their voice actors are Ikeda Shuuichi and Furuya Tooro; The voice actors of Char and Amuro from the first Gundam, and it is hard was done not on purpose.
That’s so flippin cool, I hadn’t made that connection. Thanks for sharing!
Just recently found your channel, and definitely picking up a few of these games! Thank you!
I couldn't agree more with you having Poison Control on this list. Picked it up on PS4 after seeing the gameplay. Got hooked on it instantly and ended up getting the plat for it. Fantastic video btw.
Thanks so much! I love Poison Control, kinda took me by surprise how satisfying it was to play.
Just discovered your channel, great video! I’ve never heard about the majority of those games
Dude, so many great games mentioned here, and several that I need to check out now too! Smelter sounds awesome, and Infernax I’ve heard amazing things about! Awesome varied list here man!
I'd LOVE to hear your thoughts on Smelter if you pick it up. It really shocked me, hope you have a blast with it!
Always love seeing the videos in this series. Also intrigued by Compile Hearts. I've never really tried them, but your endorsement is making me consider it.
Played Momodora 4 some years back and loved it. Gorgeous pixel art, fun combat, a sobering atmosphere, and the finale after the final boss honestly left me stunned. There's a sequel coming out sooner or later, so looking forward to that.
Also glad you brought up Lost Ruins, since that game reminds me heavily of Momodora 4, so much so that I thought they were by the same developer initially.
That sequel will be so excellent to jump into! I also hadn't realized Lost Ruins is already on Switch, I need to play it there as well lol. So happy you enjoyed the games and helped share the love!
We need more videos like this, you did an excellent job.You convince me to get Langrisser because I wasn't sure to get it, thanks for the video.
I love these videos and your JRPG/RPG videos. I’ve recently discovered your channel and I’m so thankful for you. You’ve shown me so many awesome games that I can’t wait to play! Going to pick up Poison Control after this video.
I'm so happy to hear you are enjoying it! Thanks for letting me know and I'll definitely keep them going! I hope you enjoy Poison Control!
I dig your videos quite a bit. I’m a big fan of the Switch and you’ve turned me onto some games that are awesome that I’d not even heard of before!
Love these videos and always am excited to see a new one please continue pumping these vids out!
Thank you so much for the feedback! I appreciate it and thanks for the support!
Another solid list, dude! I absolutely ADORE Infernax. I know the guys that made it, and used to hound them for years about when it was coming out, so glad to see that it did as well as it did once it released haha.
@@HallowedBeThyGame Also I'm definitely gonna be lookin into 3000th Dual, so thanks for showcasing it.
Hi Ren,
Andy here from Out of Print.
Just want to say that I adore these types of videos and I just ordered two new games just moments ago thanks to you. (Poison Control and Maglam Lord) :D
So as for wanting more in this series, despite it costing me money every single time you create one, I would say: absolutely! Keep em comming!
Hey! Thanks for watching Andy! Happy you enjoy the series and really appreciate the feedback! I’d love to hear what you think of those games when you can get to them!
So stoked this vid was on my recommended feed. Nice coverage on these titles 🎉
Infernax, Blasphemous & A Robot Named Fight are really great games. Some of my favorites and really glad you got to play these gems & add them to your list. That's really awesome 😎 have you played Monark? I think it's a underrated jrpg gem that's rough around the edges but has a fun combat system & a interesting premise.
Monark is for sure a total hidden gem, I completely agree. Rough around the edges, sure, but still quality. Thanks for sharing!
Nice list!! Fairy Fencer was a blast. We are getting the sequel coming west later this year too in case you hadn't seen that announcement yet!!!
You might also like Death End re:Quest 1 and 2, think you might have mentioned them in another video, but wasn't sure. Those were both great too and don't always get a lot of love!
And while you are in metroidvania mode (always a good mode), you should check out "Unsighted" if you haven't already. That game came out of nowhere last year and sucked me right in. And the pixel art graphics just complete the gaming experience. I think you'll dig it!
Keep up the good work!
Thanks for the heads up! I really appreciate it! I love the death end games, so I’ll be sure to check out Unsighted!
The “hidden gem” series is probably my favorite that you post :) id love to see you continue!
Poison Control is pretty cool too. It’s one I picked up at launch, on a whim & liked it quite a bit. It’s not for everyone but I think it’s unique enough to warrant a play.
Dude, it was so fun to just sit down and work my way through this. Plus, the different endings are pretty cool. I'd totally play this over again anyday.
The original Langrisser battle animations were more satisfying, but the remake art is nice.
I still prefer the older art style. Im a big fan of Urushira Satoshi's illustrations (blame Growlanser for that). The newer art looks and feels generic to me. Im glad that they included the option to switch back to the old art. I might just grab this game for that.
Definitely keep up with these hidden gems videos. I bounced off Poison Control hard at first as I found it unplayable in handheld mode. However once playing on a screen with a controller I enjoyed it a bunch.
I find myself getting a couple of gems from each of your videos. it helps that I agree with your assessment and the games I pick up are truly fun. please keep it up!
I’m so happy to hear! Hope you have a blast with the ones that caught your eye and thanks for the feedback!
This is a great video! I remember seeing you mention poison control in another video, since then, I decided to pick one up for the ps4. I can't wait to try it out!
I'm so happy you enjoyed the video! I'd love to hear your thoughts on it when you are able to get to it!
Decided to give Maglam Lord a shot on your recommendation and I gotta say I've been enjoying it so far. Keep up the good work. Love the content you put out.
Hey that's awesome! Glad you are enjoying and thank you so much for the feedback!
Discovered a lot of games I never knew existed on the switch cause of these videos! So please keep doing what your doing. Appreciate all the hard work you do for these.
So happy you enjoy the series and find it useful! Thanks for the feedback!
Awesome! You know you put some amazing lists together when I open a Switch tab in order to add some titles to my wishlist to not forget about them when they go on sale! Langrisser 1 and 2 are 2 games I've beaten last year and they were so good! I was one of the earliest adopter of Horizon Chase Turbo as it wasn't supposed to come to the States so I had my PS4 copy imported from it's country of origin, Brazil! But then like all great games a company realizes that they can make some profit so it got an American version printed about a year after it's original release! Maglam Lord, Marenian Tavern Story and Smelter have been added to my wishlist! I now have someone to blame for my empty wallet LOL! Great video and keep up the good work!
Heck yes! I'm so happy to help put some quality games on your radar! I love those games so much and I'd be so stoked to hear what you think of them when you get to them. Have a blast and hope you have an incredible weekend!
Note about the Fate Estrella Link game, there is actually a pretty thriving discord with people who are glad to talk the game or even run custom multiplayer lobbies. I highly suggest joining it if you play as they have a dedicated section for Switch players!
For horizon Chase turbo: It's a spiritual continuation on the Top Gear games from Kemco.
In Brazil, Top gear (or top racer) is very loved, and the brazilian studio that made Horizon Chase, even went as far as having the composer for Top Gear tracks to do the music in the same style.
Good List keep em comming, Ill be watching. I like your style.
@@HallowedBeThyGame I watch em more than once apparrently, that should speak for itself. Cant wait to dive into Smelter the intro of this video already had me like i hope thats a game and not a animee. :D
This was one of the BEST hidden gem videos I’ve ever seen. Thank you for not being a know it all, too corny, or too cool for school.
You were genuine, funny, informative. And the best compliment I can give is this, you made me interested in some games I would normally have zero interest in playing. I love having an open mind and trying new things, and this was amazing.
Thank. You. 🎉
Wow, thank you! I really appreciate it and hope you have a blast with the games if you pick any up!
I'd known of most of these, but definitely had not seen Smelter before. Well done.
My suggestion for a future hidden gem video: Azure Reflections.
I’m with you on the Compile Heart games. I love them. Can’t help it. There is a certain charm to them that keeps me coming back.
I’ve played Megadimension Neptunia VII & the Mary Skelter trilogy
I did enjoy my time with them despite their roughness at times (copy paste areas, numerous typos, missed potential etc)
Just found your channel and so far I really like the content please keep up the good work
This is The Best video on CZcams i found with great exclusive switch metroidvania games. Almost all added to wish list thank you.
I love these lists and appreciate the work you put into them! I always find some great new games to grab. And Metroidvanias are one of the best genres imo
Also Blasphemous is great! I've started it about 5 times but can never beat it (because I suck lol). I will one day though!
Thanks so much for the feedback, really happy they are of some help! Blasphemous definitely isn't easy but you'll have to let me know if you give it another try!
Ren not only have i played Poison Control but i have the Switch physical which i bought at release and also the PS4 physical as well. I think its charming and fun though i havent finished it. I would also like to get the collectors edition too. Fantastic video my friend!
Rock on man! I would love to have the CE for that one too, so doggone cool!
Nice vid, really enjoy these from you!! Have you tried kill la kill? I bought it a while ago, might be a decent little hidden gem to add.
Definitely enjoyed playing Marenian Tavern Story, kinda awesome how they modified a mobile game to be on console and made it to where the “currency gems” drop in game instead of being bought as a micro transaction.
Definitely check out Blacksmith of the Sand Kingdom, it’s the same formula as tavern story but as a blacksmith.
Another solid video in this lineup of vids man especially reminding me to pick up Infernax at a later date. The one game I'm not sure if it is considered a hidden gem or at but at least to me is Lapis Labyrinth that I managed to pick up during NISA's holiday sale two months ago.
Woh! Thanks so much for the recommendation! I gotta check that one out!
One of the best hidden gem series videos, I have all but 3 of them and never heard of infernax now its on my radar thanks!
Glad you're enjoying the lists! Hope you enjoy Infernax if you pick it up!
For being a near-launch title, I’m shocked that Daemon X Machina has slipped under the radar.
Excellent material! Love your passion!!
@@HallowedBeThyGame doesn't cost anything to like and subscribe! Keep it up!
I really enjoyed your metroidvania list.. I'll def be getting one of them
I think it was one of your list videos that got me to sub in the first place, I thouroghly enjoy them for sure.
Loved Infernax, but felt it should have been a little longer! Still a must play. Good video. There are literally hundreds of hidden gems on switch at this point, haven't heard of a good amount of these.
The switch is an ocean of hidden gems for sure. Glad I could put some on your radar. Thanks for watching!
such interesting picks. Appreciate an actual hidden gem video. Great Taste
Couple of suggestions for the future: Siralim Ultimate - an old school dungeon crawl / monster tamer. Very fast paced where you're kind of setting up your party to almost autobattle as efficiently as possible. Monster Rancher DX - I went back to these games and they actually have a super fun loop of training, working, fighting in tournaments, that gets super addictive. I planned to just dabble and I found hours melting away. Anyway, just wanted to throw a couple out there.
Golly i'd never heard of Siralim Ultimate! Thanks a ton for putting this one on my radar, I'll definitely be sure to check it and Monster Racher DX out! Really appreciate the shoutouts
Didn’t know a single game after Growlanser. Love that!! Thanks for the vid
Love this video, would encourage you to keep it going. Especially switch games
Loved the video Ren. “Everyone’s become an Armored Core fan all of sudden for some reason.” -Stares at From Software
Keep making hidden gem videos, we already have enough channels tackling critically acclaimed mainstream games.
I love this series that you do. Just bought that Kawaii game thanks to your other vid and I love it .
compile heart games, for when you want a game that looks extra vintage but new, in 3D!
So, I played the original vanilla Fairy Fencer F, but is DAF just a remaster? Or does it have unique stuff worth playing for... again?
Was thinking about grabbing Langrisser 1 & 2 but does any saved data transfer over from 1 to 2 or anything similar like that happen?
"Everyone becoming an Armored Core fan all of a sudden" 😂😂 Great video as always!
Thanks for the reminder to order Smelter from Red Art! Almost forgot that one!
Well how can I say no to a good turn based game. I completely forgot about Fairy Fencer F Advent Dark Force. You are killing it with your content lately, keep it up!
Haha well thank you so much! Means a lot! Hope you have a blast with Fairy Fencer!
I’m a diehard Fate fan so I gobbled up Extella and Extella Link and sunk countless hours on it on their launch days 😂
If you want a traditional JRPG under the Fate franchise, Fate/EXTRA Record should hopefully be finally coming out this year. It’s a remake of the old PSP Classic Fate/Extra. Can’t wait to finally see Nero and Tamamo rendered in the latest unreal engine and in 4K!
Holy moly thank you so much for letting me know! I had no idea! I really appreciate it and I gotta get on it because yet Tamamo ftw.
Really? I’ll have to keep an eye out for that. I’m a casual Fate fan so I’m hoping for another Extella musou game one day with even more Servants!
As much as I like Umu & Padoru Padoru, I’m Team Tamamo
4:17 I'm convinced.
In all seriousness this game looks fun ps2 Era beautiful.
Awesome awesome. So Langrisser, Daemon X, Blasphemous have demos right now. I'm sure there are some i missed. But thank you for these, I have yet to boot up sword of the vagrant so ill be playing that soon. Cheers.
Hey that’s great to know! Thanks for sharing, hope you have a blast with them all!
I gotta say, this is the BEST hidden gems list I've ever seen! Not because it had the "best" games, but because these are truly hidden and never talked about. Most other hidden gems lists feature the same not-so-hidden gems over and over again.
Thank you for the upload. I saw one game that caught my eye, that game is 3000th duel. I was wondering by any chance is there a physical copy or is it just A DLC version?
“Horizon Chase Turbo” is fantastic, but I hope any sequels include online multiplayer & “Lost Ruins” IS on the Switch, now. Thanks for sharing all these recommendations, especially “Smelter!” I never heard of it before.
For me, Eastward is very slept on I enjoyed that game start to end. It's a must play!
I found Tavern Story and I have no regrets buying it. Super fun, chill game.
My backlog always suffer with your hidden gems!!!! hahahaha the "A robot named fight" i got with a great discout and it's a game that i suggest to all my friends, i'm happy to see that i'm not alone :) great list!!!
Haha my backlog hates me too lol. Glad another Robot Named Fight fan is watching!
Good list, some games that I hadn't seen or heard of yet (Poison control and Smelter) will check them. Infernax is or at least was on PC Game Pass, for those who want to try it out cheap.
Yes, keep these videos that that’s how I found out about dusk diver and plenty more you recommend
I'm so happy you like these videos, I really appreciate the feedback!
Also you can use the Konami code in infernax you switch up to a contra like character.one hidden gem no one talks about I think it’s pretty good. You might want to check it out battle ax. Thanks!!
Great list, thanks man!! Just picked up 3000th Duel for $5 on sale. :D I'll try and remember to let you know if I like it.

Now to look into wish-listing some of these games.
nice vid! Subs done!
@@rainraingoaway1482 so glad you enjoyed! Thanks for the sub!
Tbh i didn't watch all your videos, so you might've showcased these games already. But when it comes to hidden gems for he switch you might like the following.
8Doors: Arum's Afterlife Adventure (Metroidvania)
Demon Turf (3D Platformer, with sprite characters)
Supraland (3D Action Adventure)
Coromon (a good 2D Pokemon Clone)
Crosscode (Not sure if it still counts as hidden gem - Action RPG)
New Super Lucky's Tale (3D Platformer)
Omno (a game for someone who looks for a tranquil adventure, with some puzzles and no time limit)
Blue Fire (Zelda-ish Action Adventure)
Super Pixel Racers (Top Down Racer, similar to Micro Machines)
Little warning, i played all of these games only on my Steamdeck/PC, but i checked if you can find these also on the Nintendo Shop.
Point is, i'm not sure about the performance on the Switch, but i guess they should be fine.
If you have a pc or nes, you should get Micro Mages. It is an Nes game that was made in 2018. Available on Steam and as a cartridge. I've gotten hours of enjoyment out of it and the creator has a CZcams channel and a video showing the developement process.
