- Fernando Alonso takes a stunning home win ahead of Kimi Raikkonen and Michael Schumacher who takes his final podium in Formula 1 accompanied by Andrea Stella who´s previously worked together with all 3 at Ferrari
#F12012 #Valencia2012 #Alonso - Sport
The greatest Spanish driver, the greatest Finnish driver, and the greatest German driver. All 3 greastest drivers of the 2000's decade.
That mean Raikkonen better than Hakkinen?
@@MACYNET323 your saying Kimi and Mikka is better then #77..... Valteri
@@curtishunter926 Who is for you greatest Finnish Driver?
Mika H is the best Finnish driver.
@@MACYNET323 yes
Ferrari had 122 points at that stage. Fernando made 111 of those. Just epic
"Fernando is faster than you" - yes, yes he was!
My man always pulls like goku😆😆😆...out of nowhere ass pull with that shitbox make it looks easy
@@md.shaonprinceshuvo5412 we are enjoying broo 5 podiums
He took a red truck to within a whisker of a championship. Unreal season of sheer graft
Holy..! I remember this!!!!!
Why this is the greatest podium in F1 history:
- All world champions from 2000 - 2007 is on the podium
- All the drivers were ferrari drivers and worked with Andrea stellar (same engineer)
- None of the drivers qualified top 3 the day before
- Alonso crazy drive from way behind the grid to win
- Schumi one last final podium in his last F1 season
- Schumi finally getting the podium after too many reliability issues at start of season and since comeback
- Last time we saw these 3 on podium together was 2006
- All the drivers were happy with their results
- Kimi Raikonnen was smilling and enjoying himself with schumi and alonso
- this race ended the 7 different winners from 7 consecutive races
The more modern equivalent would be a VER-VET-HAM podium before Vettel retired.
Or VER HAM ALO
When Kimi smiles you know its good one
The greatest podium for me is the 1993 Spanish Grand Prix: Prost, Senna, Schumacher.
@@roowkeit’s not the same thing
The Podium is consisted with the World Champions of 2000-2007
Michael Schumacher: 2000-2004
Fernando Alonso: 2005-2006
Kimi Raikkonen: 2007
I'm not going to lie but I was emotional when Schumacher got that podium... the 3 greatest rivals of the V10/V8 era united one last time...
The fact that Alonso didnt win that year is depressing. Could have been the greatest championship win in the entire sport history
thanks to Grosjean in Spa 2012
@@RAZGRIZ016P And Alonso himself in Suzuka... No one incident changes how he bottled a 40+ point lead
it was a racing incident
@@averagesundaydriver8122
had grosjean not done that, there is no doubt alonso would have had the championship. sad
@@averagesundaydriver8122 Ferrari lost in development. Their clearly had the worse car in the last part of the season. Alonso did as good as anyone could have.
Alonso --> 111 points
Ferrari --> 122 points
That's how good he is
Honestly Ferrari will never won a WDC again if they Don't found someone as good as Alonso bcz there always make trash of a car 😆😆
Massa was one of the worst drivers at the grid at the time. Even so, if he didn’t get damage from others in Malaysia and Valencia, he would’ve gotten 2 top 5 finishes. That car has the pace in some races despite people saying that car is a tractor. Because the field was incredibly tight, 0.5sec often meant 10+place difference, which allowed Alonso to seemingly perform far better than it was normally possible if the field was equivalent to the hybrid era. Context is important
@@md.shaonprinceshuvo5412 Not always, some of their 2000-2004 cars were one of the most dominant ever.
Ferrari never went to the final round of the season witha title chance after 2012, after that race ferrari was sitting 4th in constructors with alonso sitting p1 in driver standings, that was the best season from a driver ever in formula 1,fernando took all his cars to places it had no business being in and that season he drove the bananas out of the ferrari
Caramba, o Massa tava muito mal mesmo. na segunda metade do campeonato melhorou. Ser companheiro do Alonso é comer o pão que o diabo amassou.
4th man on the podium ferrari's andrea stella worked with all three. schumacher joked about it right before poduim celebration and stella said quote "this is a special day". indeed it was. stella's a good man and crafty, intelligent race engineer.
Now the McLaren Team Principal 😅
And now leading a team himself as McLaren's TP
Stella or Steidl?
And now he's become the Team Principal of McLaren as of 2023. Oh how much time has flown by 😅
@@xavquinlan481 Oh wow I didn't even realise that. They are not doing bad at all under his leadership currently. Hopefully next year RB aren't as dominant so Stella can get another championship on his belt.
The fact that Alonso managed to finish the season just 3points shy of the champion with the F2012 speaks volumes about Alonso skills .....
2012 was the undisputed year of the GOATS hands down
It was the greatest season probably ever. To have so many different winners and legends on the grid is peak f1. So many iconic races and it pains me Schumacher never got 2nd at Shanghai. Plus the title went to the final race.
9:10 that hug between Fernando and Schumi really made me emotional, great rivals and you can tell how much they respect each other
This is not a podium
This IS THE PODIUM
yo momma is da podium
THE MICHAEL
Alonso is one of those drivers who is so skilled that even with two titles you can make a goat case for him.
Agree. Him and raikkonen should have at least 5 6 titles to match their skill and raw talent, however alonso did last a bit longer than raikkonen, but raikkonen peak at mclaren was unreal
Kimi and Alonso deserved more than Vettel and Lewis(its a bitter fact)
@@nikhil8650 Agreed. Both are better.
Actually, my argument for Alonso being the GOAT (at least on talent) is :
- 2 time World Champion (more than many other great drivers in F1 history)
- Top 10 in all time wins
- Most experienced driver in F1 history
And still, most of his career is definitely by "what ifs" and coming up short many times. I think it shows the talent that Alonso has, when we consider his career to be underachieving
having the most title is about who has the best car for longest nowadays unfortunately.. unfortunately Alonso didn't have that. @@martimxavier9690
now raikkonen has retired, alonso is the only driver left from the early 2000's

I got a bit emotional there when Fernando crosses the line. It’s like a movie ending you know. 😢
he did a legendary race Fernando Alonso that day
Sometimes I wish Schumacher would still have been with Mercedes after 2012
Yeah, if he waited for one more year at least.
Two years and Schummy would've been dominating the hybrid era. Just like his years in Ferrari.
All drove for Ferrari and all won a title except Fernando. Spa and Suzuka that year was unfortunate for him.
Suzuka didn't want to give Fernando a second luck after 2006.
Everything feels so much more real and human. Today, everything after crossing the finish line feels incredibly artificial and stage managed. The drivers today feel like actors who are crushingly self-aware they are being watched at all times. The drivers back then were just people.
My god f1 2012 was so much fun to watch
Schumacher stood next to the man who beat him and the man who replaced him. Poetic
Alosno f**ing lapped Massa. Imagine you finish the race this close to your race winning teammate but it´s not for a 1-2 but because you just got humiliated. And this in the highest class of racing there is.
Meanwhile Maldonado scored a point without a front wing while Senna didn´t score any at all. Amazing
Amittingly, Senna had a clash with Kobayashi, and Massa had problems earlier in the race.
@@heroicsultan7311both had something to do with Kobayashi ironically
Maldonado received a time penalty, so Senna got the point finaly. (P10)
What a podium I watched these guys when I was a kid. Schumacher being my hero seeing him get one last podium was awesome and emotional.
Alonsos 2012 season was absolute masterclass. All the best Schumi! the best ever!
I bet Michael was singing the Italian anthem in his head the whole time
Its like it was destiny to give us this amazing podium of legends from the 2000's, one last time.
Thank you for uploading this, truly a piece of F1 history
10 years ago. Can’t believe it. 😓
No matter what you belief is these are the three best drivers to ever exist in their prime if you exclude the stats
Not really. Fernando and Michael is definitely a part of that discussion but Kimi's relatively low adaptability just takes him down
@@ahmettarkkaya2915 off all time? For Sure he is not, but one of the best in the 2000s? yes he is one of the best (I said it as Schumi fans) he only held back by McLaren sh*tty reliability issue in his prime
@@ahmettarkkaya2915 Can't you not read? "In their prime". Kimi was probably the best of these 3 in his prime.
@@kristiankoski3908 the fact that he had a car that suits his style at some years during his prime doesn’t change the fact that he still lacked adaptability relative to the likes of Michael and Fernando which is really important feature when we’re talking about all time greats. That is unless you believe somehow he lost the adaptability he had during mid 2000’s as he got more experienced. However I can agree that given all drivers have the perfect conditions and car for them, he probably is the fastest among them
@kristiankoski3908 no he wasn't. Prime Schumacher was unmatched. No one is coming close to the level he achieved from 1995 to 2006.
So hard for me to forget about this race! 2023, Alonso proved himself once again.
On top of the podium was the man who should have been champion with Ferrari, in second place was the last man to be champion with Ferrari, and on the final step of the podium was the man who was the champion of Ferrari
France 2005, Bahrain 2006, UK 2006, Canada 2006, they too finished together on podium
The 3 Former Ferrari Heroes ❤👍
So good to see Kimi smiling
Good old days, I still remember this race like it was yesterday, Nostalgia...
This F1 was peak. I remember watching some laps with my grandfather and uncle, bit i was too young to understand what a masterpiece of sport it was
The best podium of F1 history! Ferrari heart inside every driver!
Those 3 have so much history between them!
Greatest podium I’ve ever seen.
Prost,Senna,Schumacher 1993. Spanish grand Prix 1993! REMEMBER 2023!😃
@@rodrigoBlessedBrazil Schumacher wasn’t a champion yet in 1993 but that was a great podium too.
Coincidentally I believe this was the last time they used the ‘old style’ podium, quite apt that Michael was on the podium, and sort of marked an end of an era of F1 that us in our late 20s and early 30s sorely miss.
3 best and finest ever f1 champions... Sumi was extremely attaker,, kimi was all about speed and alonos all about the master of car control...
2012 the last funny and spectacular F1 season
This podium has been the pinnacle of romanticism and nostalgia
However in my opinion this is the second greatest podium in F1 history together with Spain 1993 Podium (Prost, Senna, MSC)
The greatest podium of all times has been Brazil 1993 Senna Hill and MSC & Ron Dennis but the man who was giving trophies was Juan Manuel Fangio
soulful podium
The Montreal 2023 podium with Alonso, Verstappen and Hamilton kind of challenges that title, though the context in 2012 was more epic.

Then alonso and vettel at almost 40 years old racing got the podium so hard (2021)
Had Alonso won a tittle driving for Ferrari, this one would probably be the only podium in history with 3 drivers who were world champions with the same team
2010 and 2012...im not crying...you are (dammit now im crying as well)
This Podium goes hard
2012 was really the last year of pure joy and balance, for the sport and also in general. Definetly this was the best podium for 2000 era till now, also that track was really good. And sometimes i want to think that hamilton could be on the podium of the greatest, he missed at the last lap, after that, hamilton went to mercedes replacing schumi, and win 6 titles. Schumi was togheter with that car even if he was in his different condition
The best part is that Lewis Hamilton did not even finish.
he needs a rocket ship and needs to start in p1, otherwise he just crashes into people.
@@ahmetyolcu5337 Beat Alonso in rookie year. Would've won title in rookie year if not for team's mistake. Could've won 2012 if not for reliability. Won in every season even in shit cars (bar 2022). Won 17 and 18 even though Ferrari had the better car. Would've won 2021 if not for AD robbery. Team principles, race engineers who have worked with him & other WDCs, plus other legends of the sport call him anything from best of his generation to one of the best of all time.
The only value your comment got was for me to waste 30 seconds replying to you. Yet you're still poor, have nothing in your life & hate yourself. Sucks 2 suck.
It was one of the two races that transformed Maldonado into an immortal cult hero 💪😅
The most epic podium i've ever watched live
I miss this alonso .i keep hope at aston he can peform like that😢.
Still the last two Ferrari champions on that podium
It s so nice to see Michael smiling, he is so an humble man, how people can hate him i never understood. So sad what happened to him, I guess he would be a team manager today with a own team, maybe Alonso would be his driver.
Back then was best birthday ever (2 days before I'm turn 10)
Legends!!! Kimi's Lotus season was incredible.
It's symbolic to see that Schumacher returns to the podium one last time while the driver who won the race is one of his biggest rivals moreover, is in his old team
The best podium ever

Kimi Raikkonen
Michael Schumacher

In 2012 F1 peaked in many ways
Man i love Spanish people and basically spanish tongue people look them all cheering all 3 drivers Ole all happy drivers such a nice moment no bias no nothing .As a Greek i can relate a bit .
Also the last race that this traditional style of podium was seen. In the next race at Silverstone that year, a new podium design was unveiled which has since evolved over the years to what it is like today.
the greatest indeed
You gotta be kidding, or maybe you are too young to know that in Spain 1993, that was Senna, Prost and Schumacher on the podium. That was REALLY the greatest in F1 history.
Before Schumacher was world champion so no it wasn't. Verstappen, Hamilton, Alonso rivals this.
Looked like a Ferrari 1-2
Maybe Ferrari 1-2-3
I was mentioning how Alonso was a lap up on Massa when he crossed the start finish line
That was something special... all WDC!
12:50 That's the most excited I have seen Kimi on a podium.
The last podium with real flags
I thought they still used real flags in 2013?
Salute!
As of august 2023 the 3 goats combined the total number of podiums is 363 and wins is 144 and poles is 108 poles and a combined 10 WDC ❤❤🐐🐐💯💯
11 WDC right?
Micheal 7 Alonso 2 kimi 1. 7+2+1 =10
Indeed!!!! So true
Greatest ever podium was 1993 Spanish gp. Prost, senna, schu. 14 titles there and probably should've been more had senna lived and prost had a bit more luck
Sorry, in 1993 Schumacher hadn’t even won his first WDC. so 1993 was only 7 .. actually probably 6 as Prost won 1993 and this was after the Spanish GP.
1993 spanish gp podium is the greatest for me
The superior Spanish national anthem, they used the wrong one for Sainz
What's the difference?
tbh i really hope to hear to the Spanish anthem this year after an victory from ALONSO, not from Sainz.
Not bc i would hate Sainz, but bc we don't know if the 2024 Aston Martin will be the same quality as this year's car.
This is my favourite motorsport moment of all time. I was blessed to be present in the crowd on that day!
Canadian Grandprix 2023: Hamilton, Alonso, Verstappen, Newey. Game over.
emotion :/
10 world titles right there
Indeed....and the funny things is that in 4 occasions the championships they shared could have gone to different driver standing on that podium. In 2003 Kimi lost to Schumi, in 2005 Kimi lost to Alonso, in 2006 Schumi lost to Alonso and in 2007 Alonso lost to Kimi. Had all had equally reliable/fast cars, it could have easily gone the way other.
Still I would say the best podium ever is that from Suzuka 1993....Senna, Prost and Häkkinen sharing the podium that day, though im sure there was a podium (or maybe not) where Senna, Prost and Schumi also shared, though im not quite sure. Sure you can say "but its only 9 championships there" but we all know Senna would have won more had fate decided otherwise
Feels like a long time ago. I remember the world was supposed to end, and I remember thinking to myself that the last season of F1 will be the playpus cars lol.
Well, the world pretty much did end, lol. It marked the end of the intellectual, social, economic progress of humanity and the intensification of environmental calamities.
Imagine if the Ferrari drivers in 2025 are gonna be Carlos Sainz and Fernando Alonso
