- I Made A See Through 4 Cylinder Engine, ran it on regular fuel and oxy acetylene while filming it with the high-speed camera to see what's going on inside of a 4-cylinder engine while it's running.

You can see knocking occurring in cylinders 1 and 4 after applying oxygen fuel. The fuel ignites when the piston is on its way to the compression stage. This creates two opposing forces: the piston attempting to move upward and pre-ignition or knock trying to push the piston downward. Consequently, the crankshaft fails to tolerate these reverse forces.
You're right, I can see it clearly at 0.25x 7:37 7:39
good eye... I didn't see that until I was editing at the end then I saw it. thats what broke the crankshaft no doubt.
You can also see the valves floating and bouncing, not letting the engine rev any higher.
@@WarpedPerception thats a real robbery not a bank heist, fvckin chineses offer this low quality piece of shit for 800 bugs.
next time you should just drink a fine old schotch for this money
Crazy - near the end cylinder 1 is firing practically at BDC at the end of the intake stroke/start of the compression stroke. Can't really get much worse. If it was using spark plugs instead of glow plugs, it probably would run a lot better/longer under these conditions
Some CZcams channels will make an episode on only creating the block, then another for building it, then another for running etc.
I love your channel, you're not f*cking around and show us amazing stuff and I appreciate that about you.
Also you craftsmanship is amazing!
Thank you!
Thank you, That's inspirational. A lot of people actually ask me to do a separate video on each part and say I can make multiple videos out of one but I just can't do it. I mean on top of that if I did that I would never ever finish the list of videos I have, it took me like 3 years and the pandemic to get enough money to buy and set up all the equipment I needed to make things like this happen, and now I could can finally do them. Thanks again for the comment.
@WarpedPerception equipment is nothing if you're not skilled, like you are, truly, as a pilot and an Aeronautical engineer I can't stress this enough, you have a skill that not a lot of people possess and you should be proud of it. Also I love your jet engine videos but I'm biased about jet engines haha
@@itayby very very true ... Well hey No wonder why you understand.. fellow engineer, I'm an aerospace engineer... You get it
@@WarpedPerception I'd love to see more of the process, but at least what you do show is good, not just some unwatchable timelapse.
Like tavarish
Matt never fails to impress on his content and creations. Always a fun ride when a Warped Perception video drops! You never know what’s gonna happen, but you know you’re gonna be amazed.
thanks, I appreciate that
OK, that was epic cool. Boring??? Not a chance. That's an epic ending.

Me : Dang! I don't even know why am i binge watching these tiny engine videos?
Also me : They are super cool dude!
This thing is so cool, it's a shame it's expensive!
Cool necklace btw
Yes and thank you ! My niece made me the necklace The emblem I made is the Formlabs Logo.
Expensive those things are cheap that is part of the reason why the crankshafts break in those things
@@tonydetwiler2624 800 usd is not cheap
@@tonydetwiler2624 800 usd isnt cheap bro idk where ur from
I’m obsessed because rc has been my hobby the last 20+ yrs but I can’t get over the relatively high prices the mini running engines cost. I’d love to put one in my 1/6 scale scx6 or one of my 1/10th scalers.
these mini engines are cool to me because they represent the real thing but in a tiny package that is very manageable
You can use rubber o-rings instead of the metal rings in the pistons. The Russians tried this in a bigger engine and it worked.
Its awesome being able to see what's going on with the see through engine and the super slow mo. I love the sound of this little engine. Sounds like a racecar
As always, that was amazing Matt!
Thanks I hope to have more soon, been gearing up to do stuff like this for 3 years, finally got all my stuff set up $$$.. You know what I mean.
in case it helps you, i like watching these small scale engines because it feels more “absorbable”. like, i know exactly what’s going on because it’s small enough that i can cram a mental 3d model into my head and picture it easier. plus, when you look at the absolutely kitted out units, it helps you understand the bigger engines and how they operate more efficiently :)
OXY... what could possibly go wrong? lets find out.. I laughed so hard. cheers
Dude's smarter than some whole families!
Absolutely mental man, idk how this didn't get a few million views
OK, that was very cool! I appreciate you spending the time and the money so we could check out that tiny four banger. Much appreciated.
That last shot with the oxy mix was F* AWESOME!
You never cease to push the limits Matt!
That was great!
The temperature that must have existed at the moment in which "stars were born" could have easily exceeded 3000°C. It is incredible that this resin was not pulverized at that temperature.
Way cool! Thanks for the insight, literally! 💯
Your welcome, I have a few more engine videos to go from my backlog then on to the fun stuff
That's BAD AZZ !!!!! Awesome video man, Thanks.
Holy shit bro last time I watched one of your vids you had like 100k subs or something, you've exploded and well deserved!
Great video. Excellent block!
You the man. Love your videos dude. Keep up the good work.
Thanks!
You maybe bored by this, but I LOVE IT ❤❤😂😂
Keep goin' !!
Thanks for all of your effort - really enjoy the content :D
Wow, that's awesome to see , i love it when you push the boundaries with these little engines. Great work 👏 👍 😀
gorgeous print result, stunning
So cool, you're definitely one of the best builder/engineers on the tube bro love your content
Every video you do, amazes me man! The amount of time, money, and most impressively, expertise, that you put into your ideas and videos, is astounding!!
Thanks for another great one!
Everything you do is just class!
Bye far one of the coolest .Detailed videos ive watched! slow mo is awsome to see what goes on inside that little engine!!! build more and build em bigger!!!
Thanks!!
Detonation station! Awesome. Thanks Matt.
This is so satisfying to watch
impressive footage 🔥🔥🔥🔥
Awesome, you made an amazing See Through 4 Cylinder Engine, looking forward to your more engine share
Thank you.
Been away for a while but always brings a smile to my face ❤
This is incredible!
Excellent job Sir
Excellence stellar work!!!! Out of this world world class!!!!
Great video I wanted to see this for 50 years
Great video Matt :)
That's super cool ! Thank You!!!
bro literally makes the best content fr
Imagine making a see thru head for this engine too! It would be awesome
Nice video brother waiting for your video man
You're crazy man! 😂 But it was beautiful! 😃👍
These are awesome!
Superb !
Congratulations !
That was sick! GOOD use of money! x) love it, and all your ideas! "stars born in cylinders" lol sickkk!
Great effort, thanks for the vid,
Dude awesome video! Reminds me of your see-thru jet engine!
You should make your own engines, you have very interesting ideas that many don't think of 👍🏻
Thanks! , I did a couple of my own a few years back but the prototypes were very expensive and people said they really wanted them and I put it on eBay for like 800 bucks It had like 150 watchers but nobody bought it ... Crazy... I might try again very soon though and do it a little bit differently and cheaper for sure.
I love ICE's. Thankyou for doing this video 👍
your channel is amazing
You and JohnnyQ90 do some really cool stuff with these little engines.
Классный двигатель и очень тонкая работа! Respect!
the greatest CZcams channel
Love the content keep it coming...
keep it going legend
Good job, Matty. Next we want to see April riding that hovercraft you have lined up for us in the back!
Looks like a new space?? Badass video though, hope to see that custom LED that needed the theram solution you made come into play still!! Always excited for your content dude.
Haha... Crazy that you remember that, yes I actually finished it and I fulfilled the contract. I'm going to be using it real soon.
@@WarpedPerception it's easily my favorite video you ever did. Next I want to know more about your clear metal!
This guy works really hard for a video to show some amazing views
it was so much work !!!, I couldn't even imagine it was going to be that tough, and I really want to move on to my planned videos now but I cant leave these backlogged vids in the dust cause they kind of tie into what I have planned.
This is cool dude kudos.
That was cool! Better to experiment with these little engines than full sized ones.
This morning on daily walk I seen a nice radial engine getting hauled somewhere. A large one. A see through radial engine would be neat.
I like how this four cylinder reved up.
Really appreciate the time/effort you put into making these videos for people's entertainment - Great job ! Whoop 🙌 whoop for WP ☺️
If you watch at 0.25 speed at 7:42 and 7:53 you can actually see the flame traveling back up either the fuel or oxyacetyline line in the background. Pretty crazy.
I actually had an even slower clip but omitted it .
Daaaaaaaamn that was sick
I burst out laughing. All I could think of was in fast and furious “danger to manifold” I laughed about that hard haha.
That was awesome.
wow, cool to see the harmonics in slow motion
Nice.. i always wanted to see this
that was pretty neat!
"I dont know why people love these mini engines"
"This is going to be so cool if i can make this work"
Pretty sure you just amswered yourself..
I'd like to see more of the mini-Harley-Davidson engine. Am wondering if it would last long enough to fly a scale RC airplane of the HD powered plane at one of the HD museums. But that one has a gearbox between the engine and propeller shaft.
I am inspired by your videos and have been watching your channel for a long time. I even tried to do something similar in my auto repair shop. Thank you. Hello to you from Kiev, Ukraine. 👍👍👍
Why people like these engines so much? Because they are BLOODY AWESOME haha
Lol . Good point.
@@WarpedPerception Haha, I do like the V8 engine on your channel, pretty cool
Hi, they have a lot of blow by, thats why it doesn't have oil in the crankcase, because all would go out thru the crank ventilation. I have the V8, the 2 cyl, the wankel 2 rotors, and the 4 cyl. Great video.
Super cool
Goodluck 🎉
thanks
Nice !👍
Once again some crazy stuff happens :D
That was cool as hell
Beautiful😍
Super increible de ver la combustion interna !!
BADASS
Wait.. you don't know why people love these engines so much? This whole operation was your idea. :)
Damn dude! You got some SERIOUS money tied up into that awesome equipment! Talk about a man cave! Win the lotto recently?
I know it sounds like an oxymoron, but that was an epic successful fail 😃😎
Thanks for the cool video Matt!
@6:38 "So far this video for me, has been pretty boring"
Wooow you completely miss what your viewers want.
That was some of the most awesome footage i have seen in a long time, and would have loved some more high-speed clips, showing how the oil film behaves in the cylinder, how the blow-by gets past the ring(s) and most importantly how pre-ignition/ignition timing works.
Catching the crank snapping on camera was pretty cool, but just seeing the engine operate was very awesome, no need for explosions.
Um sir... are you going to talk to us about the hover craft in your shop!? lol Looks like Cleetus Mcfarlands.
Very cool
Classic!
Am I seeing a hovercraft in the background? I always look forward to your videos!
Utilizing borosilicate glass tubes as cylinder sleeves might be a viable way to make something like that last a lot longer, assuming nothing else fails, obviously.
I don't even want to try to imagine the amount of work behind that.
Notification squad Have a Great weekend!🔥🔥🔥
Keep it up 👍👍💯
That’s 🔥
