    Damn, I do consecutive interpretation, and I was toast by the second minute of this video, trying to do it simultanously... and I wasn't even doing it properly, it's crazy how hard this is. It's like magical to me that people are capable of doing this.

    Exercise
    1. Know the topic, speaker, background. Look for the vocabulary. Be relaxed and ready
    2. Shadowing
    Listen and repeat what they say immediately. Notice the breaks and pauses (for the concept, clauses and phrases). Record yourself. Don't need to interpret.
    Don't have to do long videos (of course the longer the better). What's important is your speed, the clarity of your voice. Mistake: Slurred, minced your words
    Tip: put pencil in your mouth to practice articulation
    1st, just watch video
    2nd, practice shadowing

    This was truly a useful video, thank you so much. May I ask, though, if I should pause the video after a couple of sentences and then repeat after the speaker, or should I not pause at all and keep on shadowing?

    • @dr.ahmadkhuddro3098
      @dr.ahmadkhuddro3098  Před 2 lety +2

      Shadowing means you output non-stop. However for training purposes you can slow down the video slightly in the first attempt. Then see if you can do shadowing at the normal speed of the input.

    • @dr.ahmadkhuddro3098
      @dr.ahmadkhuddro3098  Před 2 lety +2

      In the second or third attempt. No need to panic if you cannot utter all the speakers works. You set your own speed, particularly if the speaker is too fast for you. Shadowing as a training exercise as you do not do shadowing in professional setting.ever. Just for training.

    Appreciate your tips, Sir! Pardon for not researching the topic deeper. May I know, please, what did you mean exactly with avoiding simultaneous interpreting without headphones? Do you mean, that it leads to the side interpreting in that case? Thanks!

    • @dr.ahmadkhuddro3098

    Hi, thanks for your videos. I win contests and know I got the talent but get quite nervous and refusé mandates, especially in my 2nd and 3rd languages. Got advice?

    • @dr.ahmadkhuddro3098
      @dr.ahmadkhuddro3098  Před rokem +1

      Hi. That is quite normal to be nervous when outputting in B and C languages because it’s not the same experience as outputting in A language. Usually interpreters output in the mother tongue. To output in B language requires you to live in a country that have the B language as its first official language for a long period of time. Like any other learning process, you need to practise more in B language, for instance. As for the C language you need to do the same, practise more. Lack of practice and experience is the main reason for your anxiety. The golden rule is to listen to B language and record your voice more and more when you are outputting in languages B and C. By the way if I were you I would work on language B first before moving on to language C. Best of luck.

    Thank you for the precious lessons, Professor. May I know, for each exercise (1-4), should we do it for several times each, or do we have to complete the whole exercises at once? I mean, for example, in exercise 1, I consider myself need to improve in the way how my intonation to sound more natural. That way, should I continue practicing exercise one until I reach the level where I wanted to be, or can I continue with the next exercises?
