- This video is part 2 of building a structure with Doug Foscale. In this video I add a scratch built brick structure to the structure that Doug built on his channel at Fos Scale Models in part 1 of the series. I then show you how to paint and weather it to look like real brick. It's another video full of tips and techniques. Hope you enjoy the video and happy modeling everyone!!!.
This is a great video, Jason. Thanks!!!
Thank you so much!!! And thanks for watching!!!
Thanks Jason, Very Cool I seen Doug's first Video. 🐾🚂 BearCreek RR Cov. KY.
Thank you so much for watching!!!
Really useful tutorial. Found this through Doug's channel. Thanks for sharing! I love Monster Modelwork's stuff.
You have totally nailed this technique. I've been looking at several other well subscribed hobbyists, but your techniques are superior! I've also noticed many videos with a bent towards electronics, really up not any where as talented as you are!
Amazing job and what a worthy cause.
Thank you so much!!!
I am 50 years in that hobby and very happy to learn new technics from Master modelers. That is what makes our hobby modelling so awesome. Thank you very much! Greetings from Switzerland.
Thank you so much Patrick, I really appreciate it!!!
I love this project and collaboration! And for a great cause.
Thank you so much!!! We appreciate it!
Great tips and techniques as always!
Outstanding work.
Thank you!!!
Wonderful brick shade(s) - transatlantic applause (listen very hard).
I’m working on a South River Model Works Wrisley Papers model and I’ll have to put some of these techniques to use on the brick sections. Excellent!
Looks awesome.
Thank you Greg!!!
Outstanding Jason! I have been using your technique on my last two y aqrdddddddsaaaasdddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddsssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssszZzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
Thank you John and thanks for watching!!!
Very good video and noble cause
Thank you!!!
Great idea Great project. 🏆🚂
Thanks!!!
Jason you are the master. Of all the model railroading channels I subscribe too, yours is by far the one I enjoy watching the most. Not only do you have great content and are excellent at teaching, but you have a wonderful disposition and have a very calming aspect about yourself. No hype, no gimmicks, just good old fashioned honesty. Thank you.
WOW, thank you so much for the kind words!!! I really appreciate it Paul!
This is such an awesome idea you fellows have put together, and of course, it doesn't get any better than you and Doug! Looking fantastic so far!
I'm a mother of one little ginger-haired Dachshund named Mr. F. I rescued him almost 14 years ago. He is my precious one, and I love him so much! I'm so happy to know the proceeds from the auction of your collaboration with Doug will go to the Humane Society! There are so many precious creatures that need consistent, and loving forever homes with responsible people who will love and care for them all their lives; and they in turn return that love at least double. Thanks so much Jason and Doug!
Lisa
Thank you so very much Lisa!!! I always appreciate hearing from you!
Than you Jason very clear and helpful video. Was great and they are helping me a lot in my protects.
Cesar
Thank you so much Cesar!!!
Jason you are the BOMB of model railroading!!! Have not had time to do any work with model railroading but love the videos so much and my fellow model railroaders are all they talk about. A million times thank you for these videos you give us. Take care and be safe!!!
Thank you so much for the awesome compliment, I really appreciate it Johnny!!!
Noble collaboration between you two. To advocate for animals is a great calling while sharing the hobby.
Thank you so very much!!!
I will absolutely (...already!!) be bidding on this when it goes on eBay. Needless to say, it's already fantastic.
Can't wait to see the next "step"....!!
Thank you so very much!!!
I LIKE it! I really like old brick buildings and you've captured that. EXCELLENT work Jason.
Thank you so very much Craig!!! I appreciate it! 👍
Its fun to watch you both challenging for this kind of project and for a good cause.
Thank you so much!!!
Jason, what a wonderful scratch built building. Great tips and techniques. Keep safe Michael
Thank you so much Michael!!!
That is some incredible work going on between you two guys and for a great cause. My hats off to you guys!
Thank you John!!!
Brother just outstanding
Thank you so much buddy!!!
Thank you for hour videos and natural talking and good information!
Jason, I have not had time to watch much video’s but do look for yours to stay on top of yours. I did look at your friend Doug’s channel and must say you two are a superstar team. He does some awesome videos and really enjoyed watching the couple i did get to watch. You two together are killers and you two give us all this infinite knowledge and information for free. Thank you Jason and a thank you Doug on Jason’s channel. Take care and be safe!!!
Thank you so much Johnny, I really appreciate it!!! Thanks for watching!
Thanks for this video! These brick walls are perfect for building many of the structures from New Orleans French Quarter! Love them!
Thanks for watching!!!
OMG, outstanding! This is going to be a great looking model. I'm going to try this brick technique on my next brick wall build. Looking forward to see what Doug adds to it!
Thank you so very much, I really appreciate it!!!
Great Stuff!
I love what you and Doug are doing. And perfect timing, I'm painting some brick walls now, I think I'll go expand my color palette with more layers. Thanks.
Thank you so very much Greg!!! I always appreciate hearing from you! Good luck on the brick work!
Love this idea you two have going!
Thank you!!!
What a fun project! And, a great cause it will benefit!
Thank you so much!!!
Wow! Great bricks! This will be a fantastic building!
Thank you so much!!!
I enjoyed watching this and all your videos, thanks Jason.
Thank you so much Adrian!!!
Already watched Doug's initial build and you've risen to the challenge too. It already looks great, but I'm anticipating Doug wanting to get one over on you with the next stage! ;-) Looking forward to Part 3 already. Cheers
Thank you!!! We are having so much fun. Thank you for watching!!!
Wow, another great video on painting brick...I'm inspired!!!!.......I gotta try this !!!!
Thank you so much!!!
Awesome job Jason looks excellent, love it !!!!!
Thank you so much Steve!!! I really appreciate it!
Once again, a wonderful job. Thanks for sharing it with us. Regards
Thank you so much, I really appreciate it!!!
@@JasonJensenTrains I’ll try to do those tecnics with an old styrene Pola kit I have
Watched Doug's video yesterday, great to see this sequel to the build and got my Ebay account on standby...
You have been a great inspiration to me. I am actually working on my first tiny piece (small water tower) using some of your techniques. I have modified the theme of my new layout to a port with several structures on stilts and it is all your fault :)
Thank you so much for sharing your skills with us.
Thank you so much Mario!!! Good luck with your project and have fun! Thanks for watching and happy modeling!!!
Great stuff Jason...you are a modeling wizard!
Thank you so much Ken!!!
This is great, I happen to have some bricks I'm gonna try this on tonight.
Awesome! Good luck with the brick!!
Always something interesting going on with this channel. Great work again.
Thank you so much Jon, I truly appreciate it!!!
awesome as usual , patience must be your middle name.
Thank you so very much!!!
This is a great project between you and Doug! One thing that would be helpful though... Doug has titled his contribution "Build it, Send it", so it's very easy to identify on his channel. Your contributions are labeled something that doesn't give attention to the build. "How to paint brick" is an apt title for sure, but it doesn't give someone looking for your video coverage of the project any clue as to what to watch.
Not implying criticism of any kind, just pointing it out. Keep up the great work!
Thank you so much!!! We had so much fun on this project! I think all the videos in the series have a red rectangle in the corner saying what Part it is . Thanks for watching we really appreciate it!!!
Great vid Jason!
Thank you!!!
I really like the out come of the way you did the brick. It inspired me to tackle a special brick depot on my layout that I have been putting off not knowing a great way to paint the brick walls. I want to check out the wood laser cut brick products you used. Be safe and keep on amazing us with your talent so we can keep learning new tips and technic on model building.👍🚂🚂🚂🚂🚂
Thank you so much!!!
Good job
Thank you so much!!!
Well I jumped over to Foss before I watched this. O and I subbed. Thanks again, Chris
Thank you so much Chris!!!
Top project Jason and great that two separate persons can work at the same model and achieve a great result. I love scratch building so this is fantastic to follow. Regard from Holland, Modellbahn Rosenbahn
Thank you so much Ronald, I really appreciate it!!!
hello Jason. Another ingenious model what you have built here. Thanks and regards - Tino
Thank you so very much!!!
Very nice video, thoroughly enjoyed it. I’ve subscribed 👍👍
Thank you so much!!!
@@JasonJensenTrains no worries mate 👍👍
Hi Jason. Nice tutorial. I wish we could get the range of materials you use here in the UK. We have much less choice here but we make do. LOL. Cheers.
Thank you so much for watching Alan, I really appreciate it!!!
Some of these companies will ship internationally Alan, but that of course puts the price up.
Looking good Jason 🤠.......
Thank you so much John!!!
very nice jason
Thank you!!!
Rhaaaaaaaaa As always the final result is Awesoooome ^^
Thank you so very much!!!
Great work on this Jason...I will be watching until the end product is completed. I model in O Scale but your work, though done in HO, scale is useful in all scales. FYI, your new background music is fine but I think the older one is much more "Jason", whatever that means, lol.
Thank you so much, I really appreciate it!!!
Wow, just incredible work. At 18:40, what did you use to make certain window panes dark? I really like that look. Thanks for sharing such a cool project with us!
Thank you so much!!! I just paint the back side of the acetate.
This looks amazing! Great job Jason!
I thought the thumbnail was the reference photo 🤣
Thank you so much!!! I really appreciate it!
@@JasonJensenTrains looking at this makes me want to get a laser cutter
I know, me too!
@@JasonJensenTrains haha! A laser and a 3d printer is every railroaders dream these days
inspiring
Thank you!!!
Looking forward to the auction. This build is going to be epic! What did you use for the backing for the brick sheets? Thank You for the inspiration.
Thank you so much, I really appreciate it!!! You can use chipboard or mate board for the back.
Looks great Jason! Did you scratch build those freight doors?
Thank you so much!!! I think the doors are from Kcworkshop. They were in my scrap box. Thanks for watching!!!
@@JasonJensenTrains awesome, thanks Jason! And thanks for continually putting out these videos!
I came across your channel because I'm drawn to weathered, peeling paint vintage buildings! Your skill is amazing! I'm wondering if you ever considered selling 'art prints' of your buildings? I would certainly buy a set and I bet there's many of us who would (ie, postcards, notecards, scrapbooking, calendar, framed, poster....)
Thank you so much Kellie, I really appreciate it!!! Your the first person to ever ask about prints. Thank you, maybe it’s something I will try in the future. Thanks for watching!!!
Awesome job!! What did you do the windows to make them look boarded up. You are a true artist.
Thank you so much!! I just paint the back side of the acetate.
Jason you do great work but I wish the videos weren't sped up so much. I want to see what you do and watch the results as they happen.
When you sprayed the chalky paint on the brick walls were you trying to get it into the grout lines? Or is it just to give the “ brick face” a different texture?
I was getting it in the grout lines. Thanks for watching!!! 👍
Have a question, use used a shadier ...so what is it? I have Army Quick shade kit, is this the same stuff from another company? As a rule what ever you use I get. Do you use that shadier around all your windows to add streaks. The project is going to be off the hook. will check out the other channel.
The Shaders from Ammo by MiG are a water based ink. They are a wash that tints the existing color. I love them. As always, thanks for watching Will !!!
Do you think this technique would work just as good on styrene brick walls?
Please put a link to Doug's build at FOS Scale Models. It isn't visible on the website.
It’s on the Fos scale models CZcams channel not the website.
Jason, could you and Doug share some general dimensions for this structure? I actually think I could try scratchbuilding my own version, but my drawing skills are - ahem - somewhat more primitive than you and Doug display.
On second thought, don't share - provide basic plans in exchange for a donation to the Humane Society.
can i use the same way your doing on my brick i 3d print?
Yes!
Part 1 is here. czcams.com/video/oTKV9eIZRsY/video.html
Did it take 3 to 4 weeks for him to finally Mail something
Now if that title isn't click-bait I don't know what is!
LOL, Thanks for watching buddy!!!
Another building video! Eever gonna do track work train staff? Buildings buildings buildings. Been waiting a long time to see trains run on your layout.
I have a video on laying track on a curve, painting track and also videos showing trains running. You may have missed those. I will have more in the future. Even one on painting and weathering rolling stock. Thanks for watching!!!
Wanted to let you know that 3 weeks ago I did a layout tour video. You actually get to see a train running. Thought you might be interested! Thanks again for watching!
Got links!?
Is there something specific that you’re wondering about?
Wow!! It's looking great Jason. I'm not seeing a link to Doug's video so here's Part 1 ....
czcams.com/video/oTKV9eIZRsY/video.html if the link works.😁
Thank you so much!!!
A "quick" drawing? Bwaahahahahah!!! That would take me a year~!
