- A review of the KUU G3 15.6" AMD Ryzen 5 4600H budget bargain laptop.
The pandemic and lockdown has accelerated the working and studying from home movement, pushing the need for a value for money laptop to cover this. KUU kindly supplied us with their G3 15.6 inch laptop to review. Inside is a Ryzen 5 4600H processor from AMD, IPS display and fingerprint sensor. Does it have what it takes to be a budget bargain?

Hello.
1. Can you write specifically how to expand the standard configuration of the laptop which is presented on the site?
2. So DDR4 RAM can be expanded up to 32GB and what clock speed is supported? Is slot 1 free only and does it support a maximum of 16 GB? 3
3. The hard drive which is the maximum supported by the SSD, for example, 2 TB will pull or up to 1 TB and which connector is required: only SATA 2.5 inches or other options for expanding the hard drive are possible.
4. What other options are there to upgrade the laptop?

Does both type-c ports support display-out?
The Lenovo Idea Pad 3, and Idea Gaming Pad 3 both offer more than this for a similar price. The Idea Pad 3 has the same CPU as this one, and dual channel RAM which is also upgradable. They even throw in a touch screen for only $719, today on their website, and the Gaming version features a GTX1650 Graphics for $769. I am glad to see new makers come in the market. Huawei, for example, made some excellent laptops that challenged HPs high end offerings. But that was Huawei, a huge company. I have never heard of KUU. While I might consider a unit like this for a 30% price delta, at just a couple %, the loss of ongoing support and upgrades alone makes this an easy decision.
Do you have any links regarding your pricing? Ideapad Gaming 3 with Ryzen 7 4800H are very costly offering more than 1000USD (1650 version) with only having 8GB RAM and and 1TB HDD (NVME SSD optional at this pricepoint). Ideapad 3 is also expensive than KUU G3 too, around 790USD with 1x4GB soldered RAM + 1x4GB SODIMM (replaceable), at this price, they only offer the R5 5500U version.
Kuu Laitnin G3 Pro is only 750USD with Ryzen 7 4800H, 16GB RAM, 512GB NVME, and Magnesium Alloy build.

After owning Lenovo's Ideapads and Thinkpads before, both of them got hinge problems due to their flimsy plastic builds. Magnesium Alloy laptops are the way to to for me.

Is it possible to install hdd storage in the laptop?
I believe there's a second M.2 2242 SATA slot next to the primary one.
How about G3 pro?
Same as the G3 but with an AMD Ryzen 7 4800H processor inside.
at£699 you have to be stupid mad to spend it this laptop...
