Basically in Belgium this is now totally forbidden to have a vent for the tumble dryers. Water should be collected in a reservoir inside the dryer or be expelled through a pipe. Lint is collected in the inside filter on each cycle and if you don't, the dryer goes on error mode when too full. For the ones still using a vent, insurance companies do not cover damages if they can prove vent was not properly maintained and created a fire. Edit: I have now precised a country to avoid misunderstanding and miscomprehension 🙂
