Basically in Belgium this is now totally forbidden to have a vent for the tumble dryers. Water should be collected in a reservoir inside the dryer or be expelled through a pipe. Lint is collected in the inside filter on each cycle and if you don't, the dryer goes on error mode when too full. For the ones still using a vent, insurance companies do not cover damages if they can prove vent was not properly maintained and created a fire.
Edit: I have now precised a country to avoid misunderstanding and miscomprehension 🙂

As a french guy, first time I this this. For me, dryer just have filters directly in them you're to clean. Having a pipe that goes from the machine to the roof seems so weird to me 😅

Having a vent on the roof, out of reach for the average person, is beyond stupid from the builders perspective. Sooner or later, manufacturers will have to change where a filter should go near the dryer for easy maintenance. I knew a guy who's friend died when all the lint in the vent pipe caught fire while he was sleeping.

Dryers should never exhaust up top. They should always exhaust out the side with as few feet as possible. My dryer is less than 1 foot from it's exhaust vent

It’s wild to see people commenting that they don’t use a dryer.
We live in Deep South US. Sometimes it has to rain for humidity to go down. 😂
Clothes would never dry on a line unless there was an odd cool front come through & that happens about 6 or 7 times a year here.

Mine says "flow sense" all the time, from the first cycle. I am the first resident too. 😢 already cleaned the dryer and the vent. I think it's because the hookups are in the center of the building and it has two bends in the pipe.

Must be a place with quite an abundance of electricity or ambient warmth. In Europe most modern dryers are heatpump internal circulation dryers that do not blow heat outside (and thus, would be wasting it).

My wife is always losing my socks in the wash. I have several bags of sock widows which periodically we match up with a game of pairs. My advice: Buy loads of pairs of same colour sicks. My blind mate never has this problem.
