My goal is to be more present. To live here and now. I have tendencies to go back and contemplate on the past, over analyse it and overthink everything. I'm also afraid of the future, I'm often filled up with worries about what future holds. Again, overthinking. But I'm fully aware about that now so I've made a conscious decision to stop that destructive habits. I'm learning how to meditate, be more mindful and calm. I try to stick with my little morning routine which contains short sessions of meditation and reading motivational books. I know it's worth it because as Thich Nhat Hanh once said: "Your true home is in the here and the now".
Yes, I agree with you. A wise man once told me, “Success is goals, all else is commentary.” To achieve greatly, you need clear goals, plans, and schedules to get from wherever you are today to wherever you want to be in the future. :)

My goal is to be happier than I used to be and make more friends. Often times I just feel so lonely, I'm not good at making friends and I'm always to afraid to start a conversation, I'm afraid that they find me weird.
I liked to stay at home, watching movies, read books, listen to musik etc, I'm just feel uncomfortable to go outside.

And also my quarterly goal is to create more and consume less. I got the idea from Rowena Tsai. I always use consuming things like youtube and netflix to run away from responsibilities. If I stop doing that I will have more time and I can use that to work on personal projects and show my work to others. So far it has worked well for me. I've won two awards on one of my projects!
I specifically want to create more poems, stories, short films, etc. I really love creating those types of things. I'm usually very scared to show my work to others at first, but after it feels great and helps me grow. I find focusing on this helps me grow in my hobbies the most out of what I've tried.

Same here! I love creating and i entered a fanfare composing competition and actually won (but i had to go overseas so i couldn't continue with the ending process of the competition cri) but yeah i get your feeling of being afraid of showing people your work. All i can say is you just gotta do it, and you will know how good it feels when you show your work to other people and receive feedback. It feels like you shine!! Btw keep up the good work xd sorry for the long comment!!
Wow... that's amazing! It sounds so exciting and fun! So far I'm just sharing stuff with friends and trying competitions and opportunities I'm handed at school. It's scary at first but after I'm proud of myself. Good luck on future comps!

Oh yeah, I forgot about challenging myself. I should probably start doing that lol. I tend to make my goals way too small and make my steps even smaller. No wonder I'm not moving foward much. Thank you so much for the reminder!
First, I wanna thank you for giving me hope by the effort you do in every single video. It changed me to a better version of myself 😊.
This year I focus on improving myself mentally, spiritually, physically, socialy beside journalling. First quarter will be for physical and cherish good moments by achieving the following 3 goals (habits).
* drink 1 litre of water daily
* workout 10min daily
* write down 3 good things happened daily (creating gratitude journal)

Progress not perfection is my focus. I’ve been sick for the first two weeks of January so my goals haven’t been making much progress, so I’m giving myself time to recover and get back at cultivating my goals. Although taking care of my body/health is a goal, I didn’t think I would be forced to progress in that. Lol. That’s also my motto and constant reminder to myself- slow and steady wins the race. My focus is on my own journey even if the pace is slow towards my goals, I’m learning to celebrate that. Little by little progress adds up.

Is there a thing like too many ideas? I have them bursting all the time in my head and would like to organise them and invest my first quarter of the year clearing the backlogs and setting the year ahead. I have been following your videos and it super helpful to just untangle a lot. I feel the workbook is a great way to have all of it together and put my ideas into action. 😀
I have a journal where I tell myself to write down 10 ideas a day, maybe that will help

My theme for the year is to be more bold. So, my quarterly goal is to figure out how to be bold in the different aspects of my life, and then implement those ideas throughout the year. For instance, so far my ideas are, in school I plan to be bold by trying new study techniques and talking to professors more. With friends I plan to be bold by reaching out to people I haven’t in years. In love, I’m being bold by going up and talking to people I never would have talked to before. And with myself I plan to be bold by doing something that takes me out of my comfort zone weekly!
Hi Aileen, my main focus this year is to love my self. I was thinking of my quarterly focus and goals and it would be:
1. Start with my health, since I had some health issues last december I want to continue taking care of my self by going to the doctor and with a nutrisionist.
2. Selflove, I want to work in your Artist of life workbook, start dancing salsa, get a massage, give myself the time to visit my friends, reed amaizing books, etc.
3. Travel, i think traveling is an amazing experience for personal growth.

My goal for the year is to plant the seeds for success. For example after my degree I want to travel for a year and so I need to plan my budget, spare money and learn a new language ! I also want to have a successful career in natural science, so I want to get good grades and connect with passionate people in my field.
For the first quarter of 2018 I want to be more organised and develop a routine. It includes weekly yoga sessions, reading more books (both for fun and for personal development) and practicing Mandarin regularly. I also want to wake up earlier to have slow mornings and begin my day on an happy and productive note.

FIRST QUARTER GOAL: Landing my dream job that I have been actively seeking for an year now. My patience and perseverance have radically increased and I had the opportunity to change my life drastically with this long tedious process. I have made major changes in my routines, approaches and most importantly my mindset. I have already visualized my future and I know I have it already. Thanks to your videos, I worship them daily.
My 2018 goal is to establish myself as a writer and build up my website from scratch! My content is focused around the self and societal oppressions facing women of color and how we can overcome our psychological struggles. I suffer from Bipolar Depression so I dream of becoming a fierce feminist writer and mental health advocate for black and brown women everywhere!
My action steps:
1. Freewrite for 30 minutes a day to get the juices flowing for creativity
2. Take a Skillshare class or two on how to market my website on social media
3. Make a habit of meditating to calm my spirit by starting with one minute everyday
(Also, I just finished reading one of the books you suggested to us "The War of Art" and the concept of Resistance resonated so deeply with me that I plan to revisit the book for inspiration throughout the year! Thank you!)

My goal is to try my best to always see things in a positive light. I feel like the past few years have been really hard and things continued to get worse even when I thought they couldn't. I was in such a rough place that I was afraid I'd never be able to get out of, but then I realized I needed to take care of myself and my mental health and that totally changed things around for me. It made me realize, I wouldn't be the person I am today if it weren't for all of that and I started seeing "bad things" as an opportunity to learn and grow from and that was completely life changing for me & I want to continue to do that forever :)
My main focus for this quarter is to spend more time with my family and friends 💕 Over the past 3 years, I barely made time for them due to study and work commitments. While I was making great progress in my career, I was lonely and unhappy. It took me so long to realize that while it was nice to put a little more effort into getting full marks on an assignment, nothing could replace the time I spend with the people most important to me.
It’s been going amazing so far! I’ve been happier in these past 3 weeks than I was in all of 2017 😃
My quarter goal is to stop caring about other people's opinion, because it happens me a lot, when for example I want to do something like posting a pic or whatever and then I start thinking... What would X or Y say about it? Should I do it or not? But in the same time I know it's not healthy for me so I try to stop thinking like that. So, for these three months I want to start educating myself and to stop giving a thing on other people's opinion.

My goal for this year is to focus on myself. I want to know why I have been feeling unhappy with myself, because I can't seem to pinpoint the reason or reasons that made me feel unhappy. I want to know why I feel a certain way when my friends make new friends and I feel left out. When in reality, they are still my friends no matter what. I want to know what makes me feel alive, because I have been feeling like I have been holding myself back. I want to know what I look for in a partner, and I want to learn what love is. To sum it up, I want to learn how to love myself before I can love someone else.

That's true, u should love urself first, start appreciating urself for small things, give urself what u want, spend quality time with urself, list out good things in u. Look into the mirror n say I accept u as u r, I love you as u r, no matter what others think about u, l trust u n believe u. It will create wonders , trust me.
Life gave me a very rough start from the beginning. And I've been riding out a sub-par life for so long with a severe lack of motivation coming out of high school 10 years ago. But after finding you and watching your videos you've ignited the spark I used to have. How organized, timely, and positive I could be by breaking down the big picture. And above all, staying positive. The world is not out to get me and I need to just breathe. I'm human, I'm allowed to make mistakes, and I'm allowed to learn from them.
So for the first time in years, I walked away from my pc, sat in a quiet room, and thought about what I want to accomplish this year. Not just the overwhelming pile or responsibilities I can't seem to get a hold of and give up on halfway through.
For 2018 :
I WILL move up in the company I work for or move on to something better. I've been in the same place for years and I know I can better myself more than this. I'm even updating my resume and cover letter as we speak before submitting them to management.
I WILL learn to drive. I've never owned a car. Silly I know. My folks never had one to give me so I was discouraged with the knowledge that I have to save up for my own as well as my fear of getting in an accident. But I'll never be a safe driver if I'm never a driver at all.
I WILL go back to school! I'm still in debt from dropping out years ago because a financial hardship forced me into the workforce straight out of high school. I couldn't keep up with juggling work and online classes. "I'm embarrassed to go back after these years and I feel like I just won't have the time." will no longer be my mantra.
I WILL maintain a healthier lifestyle! You've heard of stress eating? Will I'm a stress starver. And when I do eat it it's nothing but carbs. And with my full-time job I just don't go out, I used to go to a gym, I used to enjoy making healthy meals. This year I'm going to plan out EVERYTHING! Things are more achievable broken down on paper as you said. And I'm going to STICK WITH IT!
Apologies for the long response, the giveaway aside I'm just excited and scared and starstruck with how I'm feeling right now. Motivation has been something impossible to grasp for so long and I've gone through dozens of websites and self-help videos and tapes but you're just so genuine in what you say, and how you say it, and how you carry yourself. You feel down to earth, not on some pedestal of self-improvement that we can ever hope to be on. And it's the most comforting thing I've experienced in a long time. So thank you for doing what makes you happy, and thank you for helping people like me.
Thank you, Lavendaire, for the awesome job you do. I take care of my brain damaged daughter and time is a precious resource I must plan carefully. Last year I was able to get my head out of the whirlwind of my responsibilities and look around to see what I can do for others in my country, Mongolia, especially those with similar burden. I started CZcams channel sharing what I learned about planning bilingually with focus on Mongolian language content as it is scarce at the moment. This year I decided to help at least ten mothers with disabled children. Your ideas have helped me to grow so much, I wanna do the same for other mothers. Keep inspiring!
My life's focus is all about exploring something new about myself and my world.....But now my full focus and me are all about making my singing skills amazing....yes, I am doing many things daily for that goal

My quarterly goals involve publishing another book, tone and strengthen my body, take better care of myself in terms of health and beauty routine, force myself to take a short trip even though I'm afraid of flying, and spend time with my brother. I can't believe how helpful it is to articulate them. I've already made considerable progress since January started. Thank you for your beautiful videos and your overall kindness.

My focus it’s kinda like my year theme. This year I wanna come alive, I wanna feel alive for the first time in my life. Months ago I wasn’t in a good place in my life, but now it’s all so much better, and I’m really grateful for that, but I still feel like some of the things in my past keep defining what I do or how I act now, and I wanna focus on changing that. One of my goles for this year is to really do what I love, for my, because ir makes me happy. I want to get better at playing the piano, I want to paint more often and write a lot more than I already do 😍

My main goal this year is to love myself. I been highly critical these past years, suffering from depression and suicidal thoughts. I yearn to take better care of myself and I want to stop holding myself back. I live in a very toxic household and I struggle to better myself here. My goal is to focus on the present - because that is what really matters. The past is in the past and the future did not happen yet. I want to learn how to make changes in my life - to be more happy, more productive, to "seize the day". I often waste a lot of time being sad or stressed - paralyzed even - when I think about my future. So I want to learn how to be more calm, positive and to be more confident as I doubt my self a lot (so much that it makes my life difficult). My word for this new year is COURAGE!
My quarterly goals are:
1. To save for a portable piano
2. To focus exclusively on technical work during piano practice
3. To attend church at least once per fortnight
I love the way you had us break down the goals gradually because I often have trouble connecting my day-to-day actions with my larger goals. With these 3 points of focus for the quarter, I can see that I am working on my bigger goals, such as: becoming a piano teacher, developing self-discipline, developing patience, conquering my extreme anxiety, and living according to my values - just to name a few! I am so thankful for your genuine desire to see others succeed in life.
I finished my medicine studies and now I have to take an exam in Spain similar to the step tests of USA, in order to choose a speciality and be able to work in a good hospital. So my main quarterly goal is to do well in it and start working hard to become an excellent doctor. Exam is in 3 weeks so wish me luck!

i want to just focus on myself so much this year, completely loving and being happy with myself :))
My goal for this quarter will be to learn effective ways of coping with my anxiety (and even maybe reach out for help if i feel brave enough) as well as practicing self care. This will be an ongoing thing throughout the entire year of course, but I specifically wanted to start the year off right by focusing on these two things first.

You should read this book called "my friend fear: finding magic in the unknown" by meera lee patel. Im not one for self help books but this one caught my eye, its beautiful😍 and its the only thing ive ever read that explains anxiety in the most real way. It wont fix everything but it was deffinately a good read and makes you think of some things in a different light. Also its not a pushy "just stop feeling and be postive about everything!!!" Kind of book lol so yeah maybe try it, sorry for the long as hell paragraph :pp

My goal is to find my purpose in a career that fulfills me. I’ve worked in the field that I got my degree in but I’ve slowly started to realize that I haven’t been living up to my full potential (settling). alright, so my goal for this year is to grow as a person, be more positive and vibrant and full of life and happiness, work harder, procrastinate less, love more and care less, laugh more and cry less, be more grateful and think more about the people that really matter in my life. doing what i love and being proud of it more, don't put myself down so much anymore and be genuinely happy with what i'm doing. your videos helped me figure these things out and give me a direction or plan on how to achieve these goals, and for the first time in my life i feel like theres a possibility to actually reach them. so thank you very much and stay so inspiring

It was a perfect moment to found your channel. You're alaways inspiring in every words. I just wanna share my ultimate goal for the first quarter. Married, graduate from my college and then start my new life in Japan. I will get married on February 9th and after that taking exam for my graduation. After that I will focus to finish my work in Indonesia and prepare for moving to Japan in April. I will accompany my future husband to finish his phd program and hopefully after that I can realize my next quarter planning with the support that I got from your channel.
My goals this quarter are to:
1) Work on improving my health.
2) Learn to speak Esperanto.
3) Grow my business and sell more art.

1. achieve financial stability
2. pay attention to my health.
And to achieve those my quarterly focus is:
1a. Look for a job change or a better prospect in my current job profile.
1b. Study and keep my skill set updated for the above point.
2a. Maintain a skin care routine.
2b. Eat only when feeling hungry to avoid weight gain and feel satiated.
I am making time in my daily routine to incorporate the above mentioned points and feeling very proud and contented with myself for the same.!
I am sure results would show up soon!

My goal for this quarter is to lose weight through a healthy lifestyle. I've lost about 14lbs so far in the month of January, and changed my eating and drinking habits to be much healthier. I've struggled with overweight ever since I can remember, stress, depression.. and this year I am reallly having a great start through planning and motivation. I've learned that everything is baby steps, and that everything comes at its own time. And my goal for 2018 is to keep growing in this mindset and never revert to the old me who saw nothing but negativity and chaos.
My goal for the first quarter of the year is to exercise again. On 2015 I used to exercise almost everyday and I loved it! But then I started to feel depressed and even though I knew exercise would've help me, i decided to do nothing. It's been a year since the last time I felt amazing with my body, but this 2018 I really want to do it again. O want to love me the way I haven't. Your video was really amazing!! Thank you for motivate me❤

My goals for 2018 are to never let myself go to depression, to find joy and time to take care of myself. My focus for this quarter is to start the project I have been wanting to do since I was a child. I want to write a book. I've broken it down into really bite-sized steps by writing just a page every day. While I know I cannot finish this by the end of the quarter when I finish with over 60 pages written by the end of March, I will feel satisfied and motivated to keep pursuing my dreams! I've already written two pages, and it's small but feels amazing!
I LOVE when others are excited about following their dreams! For 2018, I've started a three hour morning routine involving yoga, an inspirational podcast, doing a 1/2 hour of an online course, and doing the "Most Important Thing" (instead of procrastinating). My goal is to carry this throughout the whole year and see how much changes and how much I improve!

REALLY love this background for your videos, the lighting is really good, very flattering! ✔️You seem more commanding/accomplished with this more open set (I know this is purely psychological and that CZcamsrs use smaller rooms because they can control the audio better, so I totally understand when a smaller room is used too, just feedback on how it feels from the "set" the space is more open, more possibilities, at the same time the other room is good because you are more accessible, pros and cons for each.
I am amazed at how good you pull off growing your hair back out, this looks intentional, and great,✔️ if I tried to grow out my dyed hair it would not be as pretty!

Lavendaire when I moved from apartment to house, I was just looking for a big separate space for my studio for my stuff, I hadn't learned about audio for CZcams yet, so I picked this house with the huge studio, and the WHOLE HOME is tile, which I thought would be great for keeping clean/allergies/the dogs etc... but it's awful for echo...so here I am like buying rugs and even sound proofing for the walls where I want to film. Kind of an expensive lesson. But I really didn't notice any audio issues in your video so you had me fooled that you had figured it all out! 💜
My main goals for this quarter are 1) to get my mind and life organized so I can begin to achieve my goals, 2) to eat more alkaline rich foods so my body is less acidic, 3) to lose the weight I gained my senior year of college as I am now a college graduate. After the end of this quarter I would like to get a job!

I'm a very indecisive person and for 2018, I was feeling incredibly unmotivated because I couldn't think of any goals. My mind was a mess. I just recently found your CZcams channel and you inspired me to create some goals whether they be big or small. My quarter focuses are my mental health and creation! Ever since I’ve gotten into university in Fall, I’ve began to create less and less and my stress builds up more and more. Therefore my goal this quarter is to integrate meditation into my daily routine, go for a jog/walk at least once a week - and try to do something creative every day - writing or painting! I believe the artist of life workbook would be really handy for me to keep my life intact and brace myself for a rocky 2018 ahead!

Hey, Aileen! :) I hope you're doing well these days. Is this your new apartment? Wasn't sure if you'd moved yet, but either way, you have created such a beautiful and inviting living space.
So, my big goal for the quarter is to sew a garment of my own from start to finish, using a pattern. I've done small projects thus far, like pillows or hemming pants, just for practice. I even took a shirt in for my Mother-in-law, so it's been progressing slowly but steadily. I'm trying to follow in your foot steps and be a warm, kind-hearted, hard working, and vibrant person, and to be outgoing like I used to be. You are always such an incredible inspiration, leading by example. Thank you again for all of your hard work and kindness. :)
I'm also trying to practice better self-care these days. I want to be stylish and well put together, just as you are. I'm always like, "oh wow! She's so radiant today! Look at that new lipstick!" Or, "Aileen is wearing such a sleek outfit today! And look how perfect her hair is!" Seriously, you are always so chic, and it really motivates me to be better each day. It's daunting though, because I don't even know what my style is, honestly. Do you have any advice on finding your personal style? Anything that helped you?

Zachariah Davis yesss!!! Keep up with the sewing. I recommend starting with a skirt or a t shirt. Pants are a lil bit harder imo.
I'm not aileen buttttt, i think to find your own style, you rlly need to experiment alot. (From my experience) you can start with the styles that you rlly adore, and see if it suits you as a starting point. And then you could progress to other styles that you think you can attempt and always seek feedback (from fam or pics) keep up with the good work for your sewing! I'm sure you'll do amazing 😎
Christine Ee Thank you so much! :D I've been torn, a shirt would be nice, but skirts seem so beginner friendly. I may just ask one of my girlfriends if they'd like to have a new skirt for free, haha! Sewing is such a blast, though, even being so new to it. I feel so excited learning about tailoring, fashion, the whole lot, and I know it's the right fit for me. Potatoes and Tomatoes Ooooh, it's so scary to be experimental with style, but that sounds like great advice. There hard part for me is that men's style is so... Plain? That's actually part of the reason why I'm interested in creating my own garments. What better way to have a fun print and well tailored clothes than to just make them ourselves?! A goal of mine for this quarter is to be practicing almost every habit that I have written in my habit tracker daily! These include flossing every day, practicing yoga, spending at least 15 minutes tackling my to do list, updating my budget/spending tracker, and getting at least 8 hours of sleep every night, among others! A goal of mine for this year is to become as close to zero waste as I can. I am breaking this down into my first quarter goal of to stop purchasing junk food, most of which comes in excess disposable packaging. Thank you for the amazing videos; every time I watch one of your videos it inspires me to become more organized and to achieve my goals! 💕
My quarterly focus and goals is to not only pass my classes but to also be involved and participative in them. A big goal for me that isn't academically related is to just find inner peace. So many times have I found myself unfocused and distracted, worrying over things that don't matter, so this year it is a major must for me to be able to just let those things that dont matter go and to be able to calm my mind.
It's 3 am, I journaled about my ideal life and vivid vision and I couldn't sleep due to excitement. So now I did this exercise again.
I did the exercise 2 years ago and when I found that paper I was shocked that I accomplished a lot more than I thought. It brought so much growth, I don't feel like that list represents me anymore. Coincidentally 3 months from now is the end of the year, so it's a funny chance to end on a good note.
My quarterly goals for 2018 is to love my current job, saving 1/3 of my salary for my travel this year and I want to read more.

My goals for this quarter are:
- finding a flat for me and my boyfriend to live in
- getting to know more like-minded (vegan?!) people in my area
- moving my body on a regular basis
- finding balance between "healthy" and "carefree" eating - if that makes sense
- growing out my hair so that I can donate 30cm of hair to a charity
- not being afraid of uncertainty
- getting rid of physical and emotional weight
- spending more time in nature
- keeping in touch with my friends "back at home"
- not getting discouraged or sad when things don't go as planned or hoped

This life can be overwhelming and hectic but with a planner like this, I feel tidy and guided.
I have a few goals in mind. My first goal is to become more me. It might not make sense but I no longer want to keep hiding behind the shadows just to end up regretting things I don't do. I want to be more me by trying more things I like despite what others say. I want to connect with myself and care for who I am and accept it. I'm pretty young and your videos really inspire me to find an inner passion and ikigai that will help me get through my life. Another goal is to help other people. I think that life is a beautiful concept only if we see it that way. I want to believe that I have the ability to help others and help myself. In all, I just want to start knowing more about myself and help others along the way.
My quarter 1 goal is to more deeply enjoy the present moment (I think my entire time in college, I had too much destination fever) and I want to focus more on enjoying the moments I'm currently experiencing, as well as to kill it at my internship and network a lot this semester!
