    I thought for sure you were going to custom fit a CFMoto engine into that golf cart. Now that would make for a sweet video! But that speed sensor swap was very interesting too. Cool video and great info!

    Your cart had a bad speed sensor, it was in limp mode which limits it to 8 mph. Normal cart does 12-14. You have 23” tires which gives you more speed.

    • @R.N.GPerformance

      I’ve never driven one of these that went over 10MPh stock. Now there is a programmer you can purchase to up the speed and get 12-14 stock.

      @@R.N.GPerformance A stock cart should be doing 12-14. You have 23” so you should’ve been doing around 17-18. Using a Curtis programmer you can set Speed Code to 4 which brings cart to 19.2. Yous should do about 22-23. You can also purchase Code 5. I’m a dealer trust me you had a bad sensor.

      Swapped out yesterday…was getting 13 up hills, 14 on flat ground and 15 downhill before. After swap I got 15 up hill, 17 on flat and 21 downhill. Well worth the $25. we’ve had that cart for probably seven years now and I don’t know why I didn’t do that sooner. also wanted to point out that we have stock tires and no lift.

    I can’t seem to figure out how to remove the magnet on my 2005 club car DS. The speed sensor doesn’t have screws holding it on popped off with a flat head screwdriver. Once the speed sensor is detached from the motor, I can see the magnet, but only the magnet place. Advice?

    • @marktheaardvark7208
      @marktheaardvark7208 Před 11 měsíci

      Sounds like you have the wrong motor in your cart,
      The older carts have an internal magnet,
      I don’t think the high speed magnet would work even if you took the motor apart to install it,
      You’d be better off seeing if you could find a good used 36 volt motor
      but that would probably cost $300 - $400

      @g.gauthier9987 Před 11 měsíci

      You have the GE motor which is on models 2004-2008. You have to take the cover off the motor. If the motor doesn’t come of the spindle like mine did, then you have to drop the rear leaf springs, shackles, etc go drop out motor and remove cover to replace bearing and sensor. Takes about 2.5 hours.

    You picked up speed because your stock speed sensor was faulty. When the speed sensor fails, it goes into limp mode, which is 8-9mph. When you replaced it with a new one, it runs as it should.

      Dear Bradley,
      are there any further disadvantages in limp mode? Or does a failed sensor only affects the max speed?
      I'm looking for an easy solution to implement a kind of "slow mode". So maybe a simple switch deactivating the sensor is a possible solution?
