    Thanks so much for this. Haven't seen a video of the motor being installed on a fully built cart, only on a bare frame. Super helpful.

    For an AC motor and controller conversion of my 80s 48v ezgo do you recommend the navitas controller and navitas AC motor or the plum quik Motor?

    I just bought the same system from Matt at Plum Quick. I have a 36v series and pulled everything out and converted to a 48v. How do I wire the dash Fwd/Rev switch? The wire harness I bought appears to connect the switch in the body behind the knee. I have the Sw180 Curtis Solenoid as well.

      AC is actually less drain on your battery pack, it's more energy efficient.

    • @TheNicko773
      @TheNicko773 Před 2 lety +5

      @@PlumQuickRacing I have the full Navitas A/C kit installed, 23" tires and everything else. The only time the A/C is more efficient is if you don't jam at full speed the whole time. If your going over 30+ and using fast acceleration the whole run, your batteries drain much faster. If your going only 20-25 mph you get better range than the D/C.

  • @billingram7418

    So if you go into the app and tell it you have different size tires than you do can you get even more speed out of it? Will it fool the controller and motor so you can go faster than the 35 mph?

    • @PlumQuickRacing
      @PlumQuickRacing  Před 2 lety +2

      You can only get so much energy out of a battery pack regardless of the settings, lithium will get you higher speeds.

    I'm just curious. In my 2019 cart I upgraded the batteries and charger where I put 4 x 12v LiFePo4 batteries instead of 6 x 8v lead gel batteries and I'm wondering how well this kit will work with those batteries. I think there shouldn't be any problems.

    Do you have to be in the dealer settings to be able to change it from the priest at 25 mph up to the full potential of 35 because I saw another video that said you have to change your RPMs to 6500 and that part doesn’t allow me to make a manual change on the app

      @@PlumQuickRacing so I wouldn't need lithium? I could use 12v deep cycles instead? And just get the 72v solenoid instead of the 48v? And also why doesn't everybody just get the 72v if you can just put 6 12v deep cycle lead acid batteries for like 40-50mph over doing the 48v which is 35mph? All the difference is, is the solenoid is 72v and u got 12v batteries, right? Or is there a downfall to having 72v on this system? With the lithium pack and taller tires you could see around 35 mph.

    You forgot to mention that your modification is illegal for use on a golf cart, and may only be used if the cart is being converted to a Low Speed Vehicle, which must then be weight certified, include headlamps, taillights, turn signals, horn, seat belts, DOT approved polycarbonate windshield and wiper, inspected by the DMV, issued a VIN & vehicle title, automobile insurance, and lastly, a registration plate. The operator must also have a valid driver's license. (25-year LEO - Florida State Trooper - retired)

    • @PlumQuickRacing
      @PlumQuickRacing  Před 2 lety +16

      Dave, golf cart regulations vary from state to state. This is why the kit comes with a on-the-fly programmer which the customer has to get the app to set up the speed and before it can be saved in the app the customer has to click the "customer accepts all liability" before it can be programmed for higher speeds. Just so you know in SC you ONLY need insurance and a $5.00 one time DMV sticker to drive the cart within 4 miles of your residence on 35 mph roads and you can cross over higher speed limit roads. Thank you for your service.
