- Welcome to my channel! In this video I'll go over why I decided to leave my moderator position. I also discuss what you should expect if you are planning to apply for the helper position and become staff at the Hive!
It's not my intention to degrade the staff team or insult any members personally, and I am still on great terms with the staff team.

I applied for helper a couple of weeks ago, my application got rejected so i wanted to apply again, watching this video has opened my mind up more and made me think more about it, of course i'm not going to just give up and not re apply, but i'm going to reconsider some of the thoughts that i had when i applied the first time, so thankyou :)

Only if you are on pc or console, it's close to impossible to bridge like that on a touch screen

Well they are toxic I have video proof of them telling other people to go **** themself and decided to temporarily ban me to keep me quite when I tried exposing them.
Yeah, after seeing a few Mineplex and Badlion exposed videos, I was wondering what sort of dirt she had on them. I’m glad not all networks are like that.
I greatly enjoyed my Moderator role on Java Hive, from the day I started to the day the server closed. I was a Moderator for three years, and was disappointed when I learned that we were not allowed to transfer as Moderators. Nothing against the Helpers or their roles, but spending so much time as a Moderator and not being able to move over disappointed me. It is what it is though. Life goes on. Haha
Glad you’ve realized what makes you happy though! Definitely sounds like a tough decision, but worth making if it helps you to be happy. :)
Totally understandable! I agree it would be even harder going from a java mod to a bedrock helper, especially if you really liked the position at java. Hope everything goes well for you c:

I used to be a moderator for Lifeboat Network a couple of years ago. Let's just say I'm not on good terms with them and I'm glad I'm not part of that shitshow of a staff anymore. Props to you for being a moderator on the Hive and Im really glad that you had a great experience on the staff team of Hive! :)
Honestly Lifeboat is the worst of the Bedrock servers, a bunch of other servers including The Hive just have much more innovative and fun gamemodes, Lifeboat is just kind of a cookie-cutter server. it’s an alright server, but it’s by far the worst.

I used to be a staff member - an admin actually that was more focused on the community and not background 'technical' stuff - on a popular survival server and tbh, I agree with the majority of this video. While it does seem blunt to say things like "don't waste your time" or "if you're unhappy, just leave" but a LOT of issues within the staff team stem around those two things. People get unhappy because they feel like they're expected to do too much for no pay (which is true, but it IS a volunteer position for a reason), and no one should make you feel as if you can't leave. On top of that, cliches can form within the staff team and often causes division, rather than unison. I appreciated the time I had as a staff member, but when things changed in a way to where I could no longer perform as I had previously and my opinions no longer held wait, I did what was best for myself and left.

This was really quite good to watch. It kinda sucks that you weren’t able to do what you enjoyed but I can’t wait to see more content on your channel! Maybe this will be a good thing in the end...

This is a great video. This is good for people who are thinking about applying or even in any situation. You explain why and how you should leave or join and don’t be scared about it. Keep it up!
As a Staff member of two huge bot servers on Discord, tbch I wanted to apply as helper for hive cause its something I always played. Then having friends who were staff tell me the problems with it. Just wasn't worth it. Love the video🖤💜

Sometimes, it's okay that you must put aside some things for the better. There is never something wrong in doing that.
It's good to see the perspective of staff! I always wonder what that's like.
I miss hive java. Key parts of gamemodes I enjoyed are gone and- this isn't a Hive issue, more of a bedrock one- seeing advertisements everywhere kind of sucks. At least they try to make them look nice to look at, but still.
I recently left my mod role on hypixel and I can relate to a lot you have said here, even though it isn't really what I wanted. Don't be afraid to give up critical roles like this if you want, it opens a lot of new doors for you to explore. You know what they say, every disadvantage has its advantage :)

Hey I completely understand what you went through upon resigning from the Hive, my brother used to actually be staff for it a long time ago then resigned because he got bored. (like 2015)
For me though, I'm a staff member of Skycade, the server that JackSucksAtLife owns, in terms of how you feel between java and bedrock I can't related as we're based on the Java Edition and any attempts we made towards bedrock we kinda went :nope:
I have my own experiences from the personal staff roles that aren't the same such as Helper, we had a trial period and it was pass or fail if you were kept on the team after a month.
As a moderator, you're based within the community and the forums and dealt with ingame bans and report.
Senior Mods had handled items such as personal reports of Doxers or DDoSers, mostly the bigger picture items that the admins would handle sololy, but the group of SrMods would handle together.
Admins were the first actual paying role, you would be paid 5$ an hour based on ingame hours, even if it's only 5$ an hour, for teenagers without jobs who got paid to play their favorite server helps a lot, usually it went based on their staff actions though.
Gamemode Managers (Also paid, but based on the quality of work, a lot more than 10+ dollars on average) (This is where I am), they dealt with all of the gamemodes, factions, kitpvp, creative, skyblock all of that, I manage factions and it's different from most gamemodes, rather each gamemode's manager has completely different tasks from the rest of the team.
Dev, Staff Manager, Owner Basically the running of the server.
What I felt and I still feel is that it's stressful getting up the server, look I mean I graduate high school in 1 year, but I have two jobs, one of being paid to make sure Skycade can run factions, and one as a bagger at a grocery store lol.
I feel like I could easily just do bagging at the store, but then I have empty hours throughout the day.
Being a staff member is hard, it's so fun when you're younger, but then as it slowly dies down, it becomes stressful, as the server grows and the reason you applied may have left
I got this video in my recommended, and I gotta say, you make a great point and provide an understanding view on what it’s like to be a staff member of a huge server. I’ve never been as staff member of a huge Minecraft server, but hearing your story about your experience being one is really interesting to know. Although this isn’t anything like being staff for a Minecraft server, it was kinda stressful for me to be a moderator for some discord servers. It’s the reason why I took a break, and still am, for a while. The free time of not being staff for a huge server, I can definitely understand that, as it clears up a lot of time to do other things. I wish you good luck with your CZcams journey, and I hope you’ll find some great things ahead!

okay, but this is so relatable in general if you have an extremely special role in anything. giving it up is a hard thing to do, but i'm glad you decided to do that.
all I remember from the java edition of Hive before it got shut down was how offensive people could be in chat but at the same time you could find lobbies where everyone was just sitting together and having a good chat.

Oh wow, I happened to see this video in my recommended and I remember you from Java! I was super active on Java a few years back, and I definitely remember seeing you around. Good Luck and I know what it feels like im a Helper on a staff team too its a lot of pressure because you need to be active for so long and so many hours a week but i do it because i want the community to know that doing things infront of staff or higher ups isn't bad and something you should stop doing because of that.

ngl, even tho im not in a place where i should moderate. I love reading the ban appeals. Im currently a staff member, specifically a builder on a bedrock server called brokenlens. And it's also really stressful to be the only staff member online since my only perms is to build and kick hackers/players (stressful because they can just comeback). But i really like your pov and it really enlightened me to what i want next.
