Homemade butter churn

  • This is the traditional way in which butter was obtained in the past. Ideally we would be using a clay pot, but in this example we are using one made of stainless steel. As long as the principles are kept, churning will be succesful:
    Rod
    Rope
    Rod alignment
    Pot
    Propeller

    Many people don’t understand that rough handling of our food will change it. Best quality is handled appropriately for the food. This method keeps it cool for good quality ghee. You don’t need to visit a gymn lol.
    Thank you for this video. I feel it is important for people to know exactly how we used to do things before machinery took over.

    Traditionally, for thousands of years, people ate food products with bits of foreign matter and never had any problems with their health from it. I see absolutely nothing harmful in the way you are churning curds and it is good to know that somewhere people will be able to produce and teach others to produce butter in this very simple, traditional fashion.

    I want to make butter in small quantities for just 2 or 3 people and I like the very simple design you have. You have given me an idea for a churn to fit my needs. thank you very much from the USA

      I buy heavy whipping cream and turn it into yogurt. Then put the amount I want to make butter with, into a Loc-n-loc (any tight fitting lid container) and shake it. It probably needs about 3 minutes of shaking to make a whipped butter (with the whey still left in). This is how I use it. You can keep shaking to separate the whey from the butter if you want the butter to last longer, but we like it fresh made so how I do it works for us and no waste; just shake up the cultured heavy cream on an as need basis..

      @TheVedicWayChannel  Před 4 lety

      For agitation, to help with the churning, which is what makes the butter separate. It takes about 30-45 minutes. Its 4% of the quantity of yorgurt. Around a liter of ghee per 20 of yogurt.

  • @chanceblevins6682
    @chanceblevins6682 Před 2 lety

    So what is it you're just keeping the milk in motion until it turns into butter

    • @TheVedicWayChannel
      @TheVedicWayChannel  Před 2 lety

      Yes, but it won't work for example if you just put into a blender. It won't separate. So there's something about the speed, and direction of motion, or temperature conditions.

    Greetings y hola - thanks for the very beautiful videos. I am moving soon so can't make a butter churn quickly and I'm only making about a liter of ghee as I don't really consume so much dairy but like ghee every now and again. Which would be the better option here: An omega juicer with two speeds, it is a masticating juicer, or a food processor?
    Gracias mil - Stephanie

    Hare krishna ! Nice to see all the videos, how to make curd, butter and den ghee. But the toughest part to do is to churn the curd from where butter will come out. In your other videos you have shown that you have bought a food processor from europe and you churned your curd over there. And the next churning process you showed it over here. Both are difficult for me. Neither i can buy a food processor from europe nor i can do it in the process which you have shown in this video. Tell me the other options which i can do it easily at home. Thank you. Hare krishna.

    • @TheVedicWayChannel
      @TheVedicWayChannel  Před 4 lety +1

      Hare Kṛṣṇa! In between 30-60 minutes. Depends on the skill, strength, etc. No treatment for the bamboo, as it is, kept dry after the churning it can last a long time. Or a wooden stick of a high quality wood should work well too. Hare Kṛṣṇa!

    First of all, your identifying icon is quite indicative of your overall attitude toward something you obviously know little to nothing about. Not liking something does not mean you must be rude, offensive or even bother to reply. Why not make your own video showing a better idea rather than running someone else's idea down? What's that? You have no better idea? Thought so.
