How do you clean your molds before using them the first time? The ones I find are pretty dirty…

@@user-lw3ql8qq7n I scrub mine with dish soap and water, then after letting them dry well I condition with a food safe oil.

I just bought my first Kitchenaid mixer , waiting for its delivery and am firstly excited to make my own butter, given the exorbitant price these days of butter. Seeing your antique butter moods I thought what a beautiful gift it would be to give homemade butter as a gift, along with a homemade loaf of bread. You’re very inspiring!
I do feel like “City mouse visits country mouse” , watching you slay the homestead journey lol. Cheers from Canada 😊

Thanks for this informative video. My wife and I are wanting to start milking and make and our own butter. We was wondering how to have soft butter. Glad to learn of the butter bell crock. Hope to maybe find one at an antique store. Looks like you got your water from a Berky, we have one also. We are on well water. Have a good day! Again thanks for the info.

Clemson ag dept had something on their site I read recently about this, they said that although the internet was full of people trying it, there was no way a home canner could get to the right temp to avoid botulism. Even a pressure canner gets to like 240, but dairy needs 275. BUMMER.
