As someone who watches more football (soccer for the americans) i love how the referees are completely visible in their communication for what the player has done. I would love to see that being adapted into the football world.
Womens world cup they are actually now describing the reason for a VAR decision also. So its justified and not disputed. Same principal for the times that players get a taklign to.
Nah the soccer refs need to implement replays into their decision making, just like they do here. You can hear the ref saying, can i see that in full speed please. They check everything before making a decision.
It would COMPLETELY wipe out dives and carrying on, because they'd just check the replay and see, oh he didn't touch you haha
Soccer for Southern Africans, Australians and New Zealanders as well ;).
@@daaichommie708 Australia has adopted "football" as the name, not soccer, over a decade ago.
More than that, you rarely see the ridiculous carry on by the players, the pathetic theatrics that infest "football" at all levels, but mainly the highest. It really is a blight on the game.
Chokes the living daylights out of the bloke in front of the ref, and seems absolutely baffled why he's red carded !
probably coz he got punched by the other player and retaliated, and felt justified
Wow choking a player is deemed illegal in a rugby game should be a instant ban for the whole game or a whole season regardless
It was a harsh red card considering he got punched in face and only he got red carded.
@@klashnacovak47 You missed the point chocking is more dangerous compared to getting a punch
No it was only a little love choke.
Referee giving an unconscious South African player a Red card is always hilarious to me!
"concussed? Yeah? Well, go have a rest, then!"
Is the red card not for the all black player though? 😅
Only arendse got one as he took BB straight out the air.
@@johnoneill2986nah only arendse got one
@@Mali33291 my bad!
Ardense deliberately took a man out in the air , clear red card. Just because he’s unconscious doesn’t mean there was no foul play
What I love is that when rugby players get cards they don’t argue they just walk off but football players cry and whinge constantly
Ja das stimmt und deswegen mag ich kein Fußball mehr sehen.
Yes that's true and that's why I don't like to watch football anymore.
So much more money involved with football. Top players get paid more per game than most rugby players make in 12 months.
That’s why you shouldn’t watch a shit sport like football
I think if I got sent off for knocking someone out after I smacked them in the face with my elbow I wouldn’t argue one bit. Rugby players and their fans act like they’re above everyone and have complete respect for people. This compilation let’s the world know that it is in fact a huge lie
@@NB-fb8pw Rugby is an extremely physical game. People get hurt in pretty much every sport. We have a word for those who purposely like to inflict injury with illegal play, we call them Grubs. There is no place for them in rugby, if they want to fight then go fight professionally, but they won’t because they’re grubs who like to take their shot when the other player is defenceless. Again rugby is tough, accidents happen. It’s a sport with rules that don’t include cheap shots. There have been a lot of rule changes over recent years with sole intention of protecting players from serious injury. For the most part it’s working.
You have to laugh at the fact the fact they'll throw a punch or headbutt, which is caught on camera, replayed a few times in slow motion and in real time and still look shocked when they're sent off.
And their team mates appeal in a vain hope the ref was wrong lol
2:02 Babyface was my favourite. Literally started off hair-pulling like a toddler & ended with a pout.
That Welsh choke holder on Argentina was insane, wtf was he expecting? If there was a higher punishment than red he still would’ve deserved two
Could have been banned from the season actually. But he got annoyed that the Argentinian didn’t get red for punching him in the face - he retaliated. Badly and dangerously yes, but the Argentinian should have gotten red, and him gotten banned for the season.
Angry sheep shagger
na, ur tripping. cant compare a 5-10 secs choke with a lil slap lol@@gwenuk
man this video is a lot better than "cricket's most violent moments"
are you for real?
the underarm delivery? LOL
how is the wales captain even trying to argue that he held that man in a death grip for so long
I wonder what would have happened without the other argentine player coming to free his mate 😰
Crazy.
In fairness the Argentinian should have been red carded too.
more and more bullshit backtalk in rugby this days, that and stupid gamesmanship crap like shrieking every time you win a penalty or a turnover
He got punched in the face
Well done, love your editing, very well timed and showed all the bits we wanted to see. Real time, the slow mo, the ref showing the red.
I agree very well edited.
Yoo I can't wait for this and thanks for doing these videos love what you do with rugby and that and ye Chur bro 🙏🏾🤙🏾
2005 Lions tour New Zealand, Tana Umanga spear tackle on Brian O'Driscoll should be on here and all he got was a slap on the hand. This ended O'Driscoll's tour.
O’Driscoll’s shoulder injury was 18 yrs ago and managed in accordance with the rugby guidelines of the time.
The incident itself was never attributed to intentional or malicious play, as to accuse either or both tacklers involved, neglects to acknowledge both experienced players with equally unblemished behaviour, both on and off the paddock.
Firstly - Two players were clearing the ruck, (neither guilty of predicting each others movements) consequently their independent actions created a momentum, resulting in the dangerous effect and result.
It’s completely relevant to appreciate the character history of both Kevin and Tana prior to as well as since then, in terms of appraising the incident.
Next - The NZ public do not tolerate poor sportsmanship, thuggery or lack of manners either off the paddock.
Every All Black knows the standards they have to keep, before they pull on the Black Jersey.
@@Justiceforpets It was a spear tackle. Full stop.
@@DrewWithington of course it was, nobody said it wasn’t.
@@JusticeforpetsSo what are you defending? LOL
@@mamba101 the rules and referee guidelines aren’t like they are these days. The game only became professional in the later 1990’s and was alot more dangerous. To quote Tana at the time “we’re not playing tidily winks”
Es admirable. Ni una sola protesta, ni un mal gesto. El fútbol tiene mucho que aprender de la deportividad del rugby
Si, es verdad lo que decís aunque tampoco había mucho para protestar con semejantes golpes
1:37 I love how the commentators were in sync with the backround beat.
that man choking out the other guy for 10min and then dumbfounded by the card lol
There is never any love lost between Northampton Saints and Sale Sharks. So, it didn't surprise me that was a red card shown in that game. But, some of these red cards are shocking and darn right dangerous as well.
Your videos are amazing I hope we see more creativity like this from w
Great vid bro
A more brutal one than most of these was Flower for Wigan vs St Helens in Rugby League a while back. He got a long ban
Yeah, I remember that. It was criminal. Worst I have ever seen.
@ianrawlings2546 what about Duncan McRae laying into Rog? That was actually mentally unstable behaviour
I got Deano to sign the programme from that game (the last clip)! Its still up the attic somewhere. We loved him at Swansea, but he was a bloody handfull!
Watched that close to the end thinking phew! Wales got off lightly…
Then the final two dropped 🤣
i really love when they get that " what did i do ? " facial expression , doing scumbag thing just second before
I'd love to read about the suspensions and bans. Why not add them?
Because they take weeks and months to get adjudicated by the league's disciplinary committee.
I like how the man teammate came to help him out from being choked by the man in the red. That was cool
The guy was surprised it was a red card 😅
Yeah I agree. Don't get me wrong, I'm an avid Welsh fan but that's clearly red and nobody can argue otherwise.
That hit by CJ Stander ended Pat Lambie's career.
Once a Tuilagi, always a Tuilagi
good music choice
0:16 was the most fair play. Didn't argue. Didn't protest. And honestly didn't mean it at all. He big, and the other guy was small.
No protest. No Arguing, Just "aight fam, my bad, ima chill"
I think he the only one who didn't do it on purpose in this compilation.
A lot of these are awful but at least there's the mitigation that they're happening at pace in a game. Bastaureaud though is a different story. He should absolutely have been arrested and prosecuted for that assault.
Tbf a lot of players would've reacted similar to Bastareuad. He got his hair yanked and neck rolled in the same ruck if I remember right. I've seen pro-players go out of their way to do more damage than a swinging arm for that. I've seen domestic players straight up go to town with their studs that's for sure
@@cooperhughes2659come on though. Whatever else has happened before, he isn't reacting to anything here. He's standing clear, then decides to attack a prone and inactive player.
I remember that prick coming back to his hotel in Wellington drunk, and pretending he had been assaulted to try and mitigate his act. The french coach found out and he was banned for 2 years as a result.
@@christopherwilson3763 there’s a reason for the yellow card the player he hit got, and a lot of people argued it should’ve been a red for both
@@cooperhughes2659I know. You've commented already that Bastareaud was a victim of foul play just before the incident and no one disagreed, but it really offers him no defence here. If someone grabs your hair and you lash out with an elbow, you can argue self-defence. You can't assault them in frustration/revenge afterwards and expect any mitigation.
I loved playing rugby as a younger man, but as a senior citizen, the effects of taking such brutal punishment then is having its way on me now. I do pray a lot, though.
I know nothing about rugby but I follow your mma channel so it recommended this channel and they are both very entertaining and well edited. Well done sir or ma’am 👏🏻
Interresting how most of them are either honest unintentional mistakes made in the heat of play or pre-meditated battery and barely any in between.
3:54 he was out for a second that lad, ouch
Some of these deserve jail time.
They deserve praise! Nice violent tackles.
@@kr79071🤡
@@kr79071
Some of them could paralyze a man. Clown
FINALLY SOMEONE SAID SOMETHING!
CJ Stander should have faced a life time ban as he ended Pat Lambie's career with that shot. Lambie had to retire from rugby due to the resulting concussion side effects!
Can you add timestamp for the shot? For those of us unfamiliar with the players 👍
@@davidackley4102 from 6:07 and slowmo timestamp 6:11
That's a stupid conclusion to be honest...so you are saying if the exact same action didn't end Lambies career is should be punished differently?
The action must be punished, not the variable result of the action.
he's irish, so just one match ban, perfectly correct@@pauljansen6650
A lot of the mid air collisions are difficult, it’s hard for the players to be completely aware of everyone and can’t move mid air. Given that I actually think jumping like that shouldn’t be part of the game.
Thoughts?
At 0;38, how the fuck Owen Farrell is still allowed to play rugby is beyond me.
Excellent editing!! Top marks for that! Background music was spicy too....Yeah no doubt in my mind, hence so many rules have no put in place espically high tackles and tackling in the air. Completely taken out of the rule book. Have to wait for the the player to have both feet on the ground before you can instigate a tackle.
Juessh 7:03 not just red but actually arrested!!
0:50 in Wrestling that move is known as a Burning Hammer
Not only do they take a hit better than footballers but they also take a red card a lot better too.
When ball carriers lead with elbows or push to throat; damn shits me also in League..
7:00 C. C Chester!
Near North Wales off the M56!
Confused about getting a red for trying to choke someone out 🤣🤔 7:15
All the red cards in this video are correctly awarded as per the new rules, the old players from the amateur and semi-amateur eras must shut up and accept that the game has evolved becoming profesional and the players/workers must be more protected By the new rules Thanks for the upload
I agree its a different game now. When I played back in the 70's and 80's it was a good hard game. Now is more like a game of catch and kiss
@@ankles632 Try the russian slap competition if you want to see more concussions.
Some of the head clashes are purely accidental, yellow card would make more sense but tbh pulling the guys off as a forced interchange to protect against concussions would make more sense.
@@ankles632 Anybody who played back in the 70s/80s is a friend of mine !!
Another case of good old times. Rugby needs to be violent!
What's even funnier is the sheer amount of European players sent off at club level, inc Owen Farrell, for Dangerous technique. Owen needs a Ban his style has not changed.
Yeah, well he got one didn't he. His past behaviour ensured it.
Excellent
Red for Farrell ? Such a big surprise !
Surprised none of Tomás Lavanini's special clear outs didn't make the cut
Kind of new to this sport. I love how the refs advertise for an insurance company on their shirts 🤣😂
A Red on attack is bollocks. That was just an outstanding fend! If a defender gets laid out by an attacking player its their own fault.
A hand off is just that. An attacker must use his hand not his elbow or forearm
Some of these were just great tackles in my opinion.
Those head clash penalties are killing the game. purely accidental.
Back in my day a headclash was considered an accident.
This makes me respect rugby more
Why do they all pretend to be surprised? Did they not know they're cheating? "Oh, I thought the tucked elbow to the face was perfectly legal."
Ce parpaing de Haouas est quand même assez magnifique.
Holy 🫣, there's not enough cuss words, sweet baby jesus
The second one is not worth a ban
That's what I'm trynna say
Some of these head clash red cards are outrageously stupid. The NRL has joined this campaign. Most of the time the ball runner and defender are just as at fault for "leading with the head", or as like to call "running like a human being". Sometimes shit just gets slightly off balance, or someone moves slightly to one side and all of a sudden your heads come together. I swear to God, we've got enough reason to send players off.
C J Stander's piece of scumbaggery ended Pat Lambie's career.
7:00 that's just assault, bro! How unsportsmanlike
I thought it was going to be a compilation of Owen farrel tackles..
There is a difference relationships between refs and players in rugby. Mutual respect. If a player sees a violation and points it out to a referee they honestly look into it. You have just one ref and two flag men compared to football which can have seven. That’s why they clearly explain the foul. Respect.
The French. If they can't win, they'll cheat. So they have to cheat all the time.
0:56 spear 1 2 3
You missed Lavanini 🤣
He gets his own video
@@rickkybobby8118 yeah, surely. Just like your sister on xvideos xD🤣🤣🤣
what's the crack with a red card? do they get suspensions aswell as being sent off?
that lambie one ended his career
at 0:51 both guys got completely smashed and the ref still gives the red card
4:25 is why jumping from a run into a another player should be banned and a yellow card offence. The one who caused the danger there was the jumper.
6:08 funny how this was legal in the SA ARG game though!
Every time I see lamby get hit like that it breaks me
O’Donnell tackle at 3:07 is rough but shouldn’t have been a red. Non purposeful, and bad defensive nonevent by ball carrier. Yes, yellow, for headcontact, but there was no purposeful drive and follow-up.
6:59 "blue" player - red card too.
2nd red card was tough. NEVER tackle with your HEAD or standing flat against opps.
Really is incredible how much Rugby shows up the NFL
How so Joe
I played rugby from Under 5 until I was 27. But, I really enjoy watching Gridiron. It's still a running game like rugby and territory has to be covered on foot. It's soccer that is boring to watch.
Love the way the referee talks to players.
“This is a red card ok? I still love you but I’ll have to let you go. It’s not working, sorry. Thank you for your time.
Next, most brutal escapes. Nonu, Farrell, Nonu, Farrell........
0:57 zidane2.0
At 1:31 we see player number 6 literally push the offending player off the injured and crouch over him to make sure hes protected from retaliation. That right there is a true sportsman
I guess that was actually a regular ruck🤷♂️
Night Train Lane would be proud. Look him up.
I mean it’s a contact sport what do you expect? Even though punches are illegal, they still happen when tensions flare up.
You take out the legs of the ball catcher, and, that should be a SEASONAL red.
Les coudes en avant, Les cravates etc...
C'est fin de licence, interdiction de jouer à vie.
Few of these are just sloppy tackles but others are obviously intentional, definitely should be banned longer.
I think 2 i find not to be red cards but some wow they should serve life sentences
Owen "liability" Farrell
If I was that guy who tackled the strangler, I would've probably punched his head off.
Who do you think is tougher
Rugby Union or
Rugby League?
Honest Question
Cross-country skiing
That chokehold one is appalling, what suspension did he get?
Just a 4 week suspension, unreal.
The Moriaty one? I agree. The fact that he is surprised at the red card and the captain is asking for mitigation really pisses me off.
Moriaty saw red (after being provoked to be fair) and held a player in a choke hold for an extended period of time… while in front of a ref. Moronic.
That's a nice cuddle.
Now I realise why I ‘retired’ at 17 years old, half these tackles were legal when I played. If we got knocked out we got up and pretended nothing happened, maybe why my head is such a mess!
5:20 Neither guy won this one haha
Half of these were dirty plays, the other half were unathletic tomato cans getting laid out.
sports? no
this is war
Quedarán locos si llegan a viejitos
imo the tackle on Lucu isnt high or late don't see an issue tbh.
No surprise Andy Farrell on here
I would feel sorry for the guys who are the recipients of these hits - except they would do it themselves in a second.
It was a sad day for the sport when a headclash got players sent off.
Owen Farrell disapproves
What a Dick of an Umpire to get Player Red Card when he Injured/KOed
When I played rugby and did that, I got congratulated by the referee. Cards were never shown.
We used to be fighters back in the good old days as we where juveniles, every weak we would have few fights with other groups😂 and normaly we would allways win 😂 but one weekend few friends went to a bar to drink and they pick up a fight with some senior rugby players😂 they came home blue and green, next day we was all in shock as we saw them😅
