This song will forever remind me of the summer my brothers girlfriend was going away to college. She told him she wanted to take a break from him, so she could have fun. As she was driving away he handed her this song on tape, and told her he’d be waiting for her. 30 years later and their married with 3 kids, who are now in college.
Sounds like he got screwed, poor guy
Does it ?
Awwwwwww! 💖
carrousel rider WTF
I teared up reading your comment as the song played. Thats beautiful and congratulations to them. ❤
He wrote so many songs for so many other people back in the eighties !
Richard Marx wrote this song on tour for his first wife Cynthia, who was his gf then... so it was very sincere. It became his biggest hit.
And he never meant for it to be recorded. He didn't want to at first.
She was in road house. I love Richard. Seen him in Shreveport. I know a lot about that dude 👍
Cynthia Rhodes fantastic singer n dancer. In great movies. Flashdance. Staying alive. Dirty dancing. 👍👍. Shame they split after 25 years.
Richard Marx "Angelia" is my favorite
Masterful songwriter, singer, piano and guitar. Saw him a few years ago and his voice has only gotten better.
He had 7 top 5 hits in the late 80s(3 #1's) and 7 top 20 songs in the 90s,
edit- Asia & BJ, You might like his "Hold On to the Nights" and "Should've Known Better"!
I remember he kept def leppards, pour some sugar on me off the top spot.
I was about to recommend both of those songs. Thumbs up.
I love "Should've known better", "Angelia" and "Endless summer nights"
Hold On to the Nights is my second favorite after this one. Very good also
1st time I heard this song i recorded it and played it over and over until I memorized the entire song all night so I could sing it to a girl I liked in school . Back in my youth I could sing pretty good . When I saw her in school in the next morning in the hall way I just went up to her and started singing . Every one started laughing at me which I didn't care . But when I was done I got that kiss on the cheek that made me walk on cloud 9 all day long I was a new man !
Bravo friend, bravo !
Number 1 song of 1989 , off of the Repeat Offender album. It was one of the best pop albums ever done.
Loved his first 3 albums. I loved alot of the non-singles more than those released as singles.
The word that has always come to me whenever I hear this song is "yearning".
this is one of my favorite songs brings back old feelings
Hazard by Richard Marx is an amazing song... he has written many songs for other artists including 'Promise You' which was recorded by NSYNC 👍
YES!! I agree 100%- Hazard is such a great song!
@@jennyph79 - Me too,100% agree.
That is a beautiful story!!
Love this song
THIS! It was THE slow song played at every school dance, you definitely wanted your crush to ask you to dance…
It was definitely played at my middle school dance. I never had the guts to ask my crush to dance but this track brings back a lot of memories from those days.
You’re showing how old we are. 😅
If this song doesn't move you then you probably aren't with us anymore. How romantic this song is and I felt like this about someone.
That was in my time, I don't know why but in those days the love songs you felt there where just for you. A dream.
Endless Summer Nights was my favourite. His Ex Cynthia Rhodes was also a very talented Actor/Singer/Dance starring in movies such as Flashdance (Jennifer Beal), Dirty Dancing (Patrick Swayze), Staying Alive (John Travolta), Sci-Fi thriller Runaway along side Tom Selleck (Magnum PI) and Gene Simmons (from the band KISS) and appearing in Toto's music video "Rosanna". Checkout Cynthia's - Finding Out The Hard Way.
Richard's voice is always a pleasure to listen to. He really sits you down with just the clarity and power of his vocals. "Right Here Waiting" is the second single from Richard's second album, Repeat Offender (1989); it was a global hit, topping charts in many countries around the world including the US where it reached #1 on the Hot 100. Please react to Donna Lewis & Richard Marx - "At the Beginning."
Always loved this song, brings back many memories
I saw him live in 1990. He was the warm-up act for Tina Turner. I never ever heard a bass-sound live that strong as in the beginning of this song. The whole arena was vibrating 😀
Hazzard is by far his best song. I love most of his songs but that one just is amazing.
Beautiful tune, and looking at Asia and hearing her heart she liked it too. Thanks Asia and BJ.
That was the slow set back here years ago. Nice close slow dance. Happy birthday 🎂
Huge song here back in the 80s brings back memories of highschool for me. This is one of those bittersweet songs, you like it but it stirs up pain 🤣
One of my favorite ballads from the 80s…
Great Song By Richard Marx. He has several great songs. I also enjoy Endless Summer Nights.
Just love your reactions! This one was fun since Asia is so musically gifted you could see on her face from the beginning of the instrumentals and then again when Richard's voice first came in, she knew it was going to be good!
U two are like the Stars and the Moon Beautiful
I loved this song x
I sang his hit song NOW AND FOREVER for my bride on my wedding day. The wedding turned into a Richard Marx tribute evening. Awesome artist
Hold On To The Nights is another great song. He's a great songwriter.
"Angelia", "Now and Forever", "Hold On To the Nights", "Satisfied"... Great music by Richard Marx...
Great singer songwriter musician. Saw him in concert. It was awesome
Angelina, Endless Summer Nights, Hold on to the nights, Now and Forever, Hazard... He is the American version of "Air Supply"!
Richard Marx... une voix incroyable et cette chanson qui m'a accompagné étant adolescent...
Wow this is wonderful song I brings back so many memories from my high school days
'Now and Forever' by him is lovely too.
Was in love with Richard cuz he is so beautiful!
Endless Summer Nights is another good song by Richard Marx
Great background singer back in the day. Both him and Richard page from Mr mister. Beautiful song which was originally written by him for Barbra Streisand who turned it down by saying she would never wait for anyone! Became a big hit for the writer instead!
"Hold Onto the Night"......you might recognize that one.
Iconic Richard Marx song. He was popular around 1990-1991, the latter half of 1989 as well. He made his living writing songs for other artists and bands. He performed with his sons on the Kelly Clarkson Show two weeks ago. "Should've Known Better" "Angelia" "Endless Summer Nights" "Now & Forever" "Hold Onto The Night" "This I Promise You" "Don't Mean Nothin'" "Hazard" "Satisfied" "Another One Down" "Whatever We Started" are others to check out.
This song was all over the radio when I was a kid❤ Played at the roller ring it was a bop for sure💜

Richard Marx had a string of hits in the late 80's and early 90's.
Don't Mean Nothing, Now and Forever, Endless Summer Nights, and the list goes on. You should jump down the rabbit hole of his music. Fun Fact: He was a jingle writer for commercials before he was known, and his wife at the time was the blonde pregnant dancer in Dirty Dancing.

Richard Marx was the love song hit maker of the 80's-90's and still recording new music to this day. One of these days I hope you can react to his song "Beautiful Goodbye" that Rowan has suggested many times. It's one of my favorites. 🥰

Great song ❤
In Australia, he was known as Dick Marks.
A great singer and prolific song writer. Richard Marx lives in the Chicago area and has written many, many great hits for himself and others. He is such a musical talent.
So many memories. This song came out when I was going through a breakup. He moved back to Indiana to be closer to his son but I wasn't going to uproot my kids to follow him. Fast forward, I started dating again and this guy wants me to listen to a song he's been learning on piano. He starts playing Right Here Waiting. I almost died.
One of my favourite songs from him. Also love 1 Hazard.2 Endless summer nights.3 should’ve known better
Richard Marx takes me back to the late 1980s and old boyfriends… one of the first outdoor concerts I went to. I always loved his music and the rasp in his voice.
You should listen to his song “ endless summer nights “. One of my faves
Musical Genius ❤❤❤
Back-in-the-day Richard Marx used to sit in with the Eagles on recording sessions. They considered him to be the extra eagle and was almost part of the group basically.
My husband and I saw Richard Marx perform at Riverbend outdoor concert venue in the early 90s. Great concert!
