This has made me think: if the cars themselves have to be crushed, why can't punters go and buy the bits from the car that they'd like or what they can salvage and then let police crush the shell? I mean: people who'd like to do after-market mods, like engine swaps or better interior bits, would get a good deal, cos the car's gonna be destroyed anyway and why waste perfectly good parts that could have a new home in a project car?

They couldn't sell it on to someone otherwise the Evo's new owner would probably have gotten carjacked and assaulted. And exactly that happened many years ago. It was in London so, given the traffic being all frozen in place, it's fair to say a getaway would have been impossible.

Confirmed: Jeremy can outrun bullets
The suspension in the 8-9 is softer for daily driving but the 7's is still set up better for driving fast. Power difference is minimal between them in the real world, my 7 has upgraded cams, turbo, exhaust, tuned e.t.c with upgraded brakes, suspension and swaybars so blows most cars away.

All stock evo's are pretty awesome :) But they are so easily modable that all of them have the potential to do pretty much blow everything below a supercar out of the water with not a whole lot of cost :) which is why I bought a 7, because although the 8/9 were better stock the 7 was cheaper and was kinda like a canvas for me to build from.
