- The boys are in California at a deserted desert race track. Jeremy Clarkson is in a Lexus LFA, Richard Hammond the new Dodge Viper and James May in the latest Aston Martin Vanquish. The challenge is to test their cars' handling abilities by dodging an airborne attack from dog fighters in Italian Marchetti planes.

ElectricDragonFilms In america, although they’re ungodly expensive, I believe you can get permission to buy a decommissioned jet from the military as long as every possibility of having any sort of weapon on it has been either removed or decommissioned

Technically, a non-transparent bucket is a force field that stops the lasers. And any other type of light as well ;)
"Behind" won't work. Only "inside" will work. Hard to drive around the track that way.

Imagine just getting a phone call, and on the other end is Clarkson shouting about getting attacked by fighter planes, mixed with the sounds of a car engine and the occasional airplane flying low overhead. Probably the most interesting moment in that person's week :P

I can't get over how they used The Avengers Theme at the beginning of the clip.
They used the theme from Assassin's Creed in another episode...Top Gear uses a lot of music from movies and games.

I know this is a car show but boi do I love it when they bring out the planes is so majestic seeing em flying around or going as fast as they can, flying has to be one of the hardest things to do and when its pulled off perfectly its beautiful

You know what would be an awesome alternative version of this ? Technical version.
The cars should have a machine gun mounted to the rear in some way, either be it a truckbed or something else, and then there should be a professional manning it and the same laser functions would apply to the gun and hits to the planes.
