- This Audi R8 used to be Andrew's pride and joy. Purchased in 2019 and immediately wrapped in emerald green, it’s safe to say he wanted this car to be seen. Sadly though, a freak hail storm whilst at a car show in Italy left the R8 with some serious damage. The wrap was hastily removed for repairs (leaving lots of glue behind...) and has since been sitting in storage for over a year. It’s now up to the Clean Team to get this 5.2-litre naturally aspirated supercar back where it should be - on the road!

If you can afford an Audi R8, you can afford a proper detail yourself. Don't have much time for Top Gear stepping in for this job. Maybe start this series with something more viewers can relate to. Also, drop the arbitrary forced time limit thing - it was a tired format twenty years ago. If you've got a day to shoot it, just say so and get on with it.
They probably quoted the job for 8 hours of labour, why would they want to spend more time working on a job and not getting paid for it? You don't need them to clean a shitbox for you to relate to a clean car lol.
@@SpektrikMusic There's no way the guy directly paid for that job. Just not how telly works. And there are plenty of options for showing more fun, interesting stuff that isn't just cleaning some rich kid's joy ride. Not exactly a sob story that it got hailed on while in Italy is it.

Anyone who treats a nice car like this doesn't deserve to have it back.
I've seen people take more care on their Fiat Punto than this man does on his supercar. How can he drive around in that, while looking like it sat in a desert storm for two years? Take the car away, before he sticks on some flame stickers on the side. Pretty sure those rims are straight out of hot wheels

I have to applaud both of your observation and deduction skills. You can clearly tell far more about the motives, choices, and life events this man has navigated in the last few years than I was able to from this video. Al I could tell was that the car had been a bit neglected and I didn’t understand why he’d done that. Props to your superior detective work and conclusions.

That you fail to make the connection between someone owning a £100k sports car (that they openly talk about having had wrapped cause they like to play around with the colour of their cars and that got damaged while holidaying in italy) and the inherent ability for them to afford to pay for it to be fixed and cleaned is a clear sign of our greater deduction skills. Or your own idiocy. Phrase it as you will.

I’m certainly with a few comments I’ve seen regarding this stupid 8hr limit.!
I’d like to see more of an explanation of the processes used for detailing.
After all, I watching the videos to improve the detailing on my car.
It’s like when Gordon Ramsay shows you how to cook certain dishes and doesn’t tell you the recipe quantities!
That being said, the guys are great to watch and are obviously top notch at their job!

Before claying I always do a chemical de con first and tar removal. Less chance of inflicting scratches and less work for the clay bar to do.

That is the same R8 that was shown in a drag race in Carwow. Atleast the rims are same but not the colour. Maybe they repainted it

Since those areas arent considered paint, you need to tape off the sensitive areas since the polisher can scratch/scuff those areas.
The color black is beautiful. The flipside of course it does not take long to look like shit. I think you boys could shine a Hershey bar

About £150/hour depending on where you are in the country and the detailer's experience level.

When I was young, I worked at a car detailer and if I took 8 hours to detail this car, I would have been fired. They were with two of them, so that's 16 hours! What's up with that? that's 2 days for one car, instead of 2 cars in one day a person!
That's proper detailing, not dealers slap dash jobs ;)

A hailstorm that put dents in the car which were fixed by just removing the wrap 🤔? Talk about some luck 😅...
with this whole series, they say "8 hours", but it's edited. there's no way to tell whether they've spent more or less time on doing the job.
if it was all done outside then there's a metric to work with (daylight) but it's brought into a garage and worked on after the wash. just because the customer picks up the car during the night doesn't mean that it's the same day. we're told they've spent 8 hours on it. and so, "with the magic of editing" they can spend as much time as they like on it to give it the desired effect.

That much glue for a wrap, sounds like the wrap shop did a crap job
Wrapping, when your done with it, is just a horrorshow to make a vehicle show ready again - Glue, marks, cuts, chips, rust etc to infinity. Just buy a colour you like and look after it. Done.

If you’re going to show detailing, can you get rid of the artificial deadline - a decent detail takes 3-4 days. Show what a real detail can do
Am I the only one wondering how the customers get the car there and come back?
I will never understand those wraps, they scratch the car original paint work to death and actually do more damage than what they are worth.
