- Taking another road trip to visit the world's largest arcade Galloping ghost. We wrap up our adventure with a little trip to C2E2 with some cool photos as well.
We also show the unseen, unfinished helicopter level from the arcade game narc which is only available at galloping ghost.
Big shout out to PD7 (phil) who came down to say hello and also play some killer instinct. Super nice guy and has a great CZcams channel as well where he covers a lot of retro video games and every once in a while throws in some superhero toys as well. Check out his channel at / @pdx7
Big thanks to the big man himself Doc Mack and his hospitality for allowing us to film all over galloping ghost. If you've never been there you definitely should check it out.
Also big thanks to Steve for doing all the heavy lifting.

PatmanQC is currently the heart of vintage gaming.
Agreed!
Happy little games
Thanks a lot, I love it
Absolut truth.
Another great thing about Galloping Ghost is that you just need to keep your receipt and they let you come and go all day. I like to marathon for 4-5 hours, eat at Culver's just down the street, then come back and see how much more I can take. My personal best is 8 hours of gaming in one day! The cabinets where you play seated become a real life saver.
That's pretty awesome and they do have a lot of sit down cabinets
I had an awesome time hanging out! Thank you so much 👊
My pleasure, we will have to do it again!
@@PatmanQC-Arcade-Documentariesabsolutely
Nice! Two of my favorite CZcams dudes meeting up at the arcade Mecca!!
I love both you guys!!! I just started following pd7. Fellow milwaukee native!!!! Small world guys!❤
Thank you Mike & Goofy Foot 👊
Incredible. Thanks for sharing. Nice to see you on the other side of the camera too!
Excellent, thank you so much for watching. i Make appearances every so often :-)
Love your videos, My late wife always enjoyed watching them together, she loved video games as much as I do. Keep up the good work Patman
Sorry to hear that but thank you so much for sharing. I love hearing about families bonding over videogames.
Patman , I love the subtle humor and euphemisms. By far the most insightful, intelligent and tongue in cheek commentary on retro games. Thank you for everything you've done.
LOL, thanks for that. I appreciate you watching, thanks
My old home state was born in IL, raised in chicago went to Brookfield Zoo once a year growing up and love knowing Galloping Ghost is part of that town.❤😂
Fantastic, I have been to Brookfield Zoo a few times in my life
The building is the old green pocket pool hall
@punklover99 which part? The front by the entrance? Or the new expansion (canton restaurant)? Or the very back, referred to as the bunker?
Aw man.. you're so lucky! This is where they have the unreleased Beavis & butthead cabinet.
Yes they do and I do show it briefly
Great video sir, I live about 10 minutes away and go there quite often. This place is amazing.
Very cool! Thanks so much and if I lived that close I would be there all the time as well
Man oh man, I can't wait till I get a chance to go to the arcade. I'm totally jealous🥺
You should plan to spend the whole day :-)
@PatmanQC-Arcade-Documentaries oh you know I will😁
Pilgrimage is absolutely right - I can't wait to go one of these days. Thanks for bringing a little of it to the interwebs, for all to see.
It truly was a holy experience. You would think I met the Pope or something :-)
They just added new games
Pat, I am so impressed that you don’t let your condition keep you from enjoying these timeless Arcade classics. As for this venue, I am jealous. I live thousands of miles away from this place.
Thanks, I was very fortunate to get to go. Where you live?
@@PatmanQC-Arcade-Documentaries Glendale, California. Sorry for the double post. Hope you got my reply.
Very inspiring indeed. Keep it up Pat!
@@VahanNisanian - I made the drive last year from Pismo Beach, CA to Chicago to visit the Ghost. Well worth it
A PatmanQC Special?! Thanks for your great videos.💯
Thank you for watching
I would kill to go there, but i dont think the missus would allow me to holiday there. Seeing as it would involve a long flight from london lol. Great video as per 👏. Keep up the great work my friend 🧡.
LOL, London would be fantastic to visit thanks
You are a positive role model. Ppl get negative and thank you for being a positive person. I figured out my issues. All good man thank you Patman.
We definitely had an awesome time and the fans seem to like seeing you in action and playing !
Utterly fantastic
I been to that arcade before during my visit in Chicago. I didnt want to leave once I entered the place. The Spawn arcade game was also on Dreamcast.
That's the way I felt LOL
Yeah! This is so great. The enthusiasm shines through the footage. So glad you got to check it out! Kid ina candy store, huh? 😎
Oh,I would be too!⚡️
Im in central IL and ive been trying to get up there for years. That place does look like a slice of fried gold.
It's just a wall-to-wall arcade games. Everything is packed in like sardines but it's so much fun
My son and I went last year and yes a week is recommended! We got the week pass and it was awesome
i grew up in a pinball arcade so Q-Bert was my 1st arcade game i ever played in 1982! At 12 minutes 37 seconds in to see Jeff Lee the artist of many Arcade games & to see his signature was truly amazing for Q-Bert! I've never seen so many arcade games in one place i'll have to make a trip to Galloping Ghost Arcades in the future! Thanks for sharing Patman! Truly Amazing!
It's a wonderful place. Of course I had To play qbert Even for just a few minutes
Jeff was at the ghost this past Saturday doing interviews. I got to ask him a question bout the 3 stooges game. He did the art for it.
This is so awesome! I'll have to visit next time I'm out in Illinois!
You definitely should
Man, i wish you could come along with us to Japan in January! The arcades, especially the back alley ones would be right up your alley ( no pun intended)
It's always been a dream of mine to go to Japan but I'm sure it will never happen. Thanks for the thought :-)
I got misty eyed when you mentioned pinball. My favorites were Bride of Pinbot, Attack on Mars, Theater of Magic, and The Lost World Jurassic Park.
Those are all classics. My favorite like I said is he that the Addams family or Elvira….But then there's Terminator 2. Boy it's hard to make a decision
You showed me ppl can adapt thank tou it means the world to me. We all can learn from you. Don't stop we all take for granted. You are the man Patman.
definitely glad you went there. i went there a few years ago. it's legit better than advertised. the rare games, the prototypes, the formerly unreleased stuff. when i was there, there were even more games they were working on to get back into action. so many games its almost overwhelming, but worth the price. the kind of place only patman could cover properly
Thanks a ton, I wish I could've showcased more but it's so hard.
Love these Galloping Ghost walkthroughs. Sometimes I see an uncommon game that I played in my youth but have forgotten about until I see someone film it in one of these walkthroughs and then my mind gets blown.
I wish I was able to showcase everything because there is a lot we missed
Midway's Twin Tigers is the game they had that I hadn't seen since the 80s that I totally forgot about
Fellow QC guy here and I watch your videos often. I WISH Analog and Analog II would get more games, it's looking pretty sparse nowadays. Nothing like it was when they first opened. Cheers from Rock Island.
Hello there, cheers from Milan :-) I have never been to analog so that something I definitely need to check out.
This place is crazy so many games and alot I never even heard of, I gotta visit here someday, glad you got a chance to go
Thanks, it was really cool
I visited them 2 years ago. There were so many games I spent a half hour just walking around in amazement looking at things having no idea what to play first.
I was able to play sit-down Sega Rad Mobile for the first time in many years I don't know if you saw it when you were there.
Played Disks of Tron for the first time also, no arcade I grew up with ever had that one. Apparently the rare cabinet version of DOT is considered one of the best ever made/ most underrated arcade game ever.
I did not see rad mobile but he had a ton of sitdown machines. I did see discs of Tron though
@@PatmanQC-Arcade-Documentaries when I was there June 2022 it was in one of the rooms at the far north east end of the building ( if you're facing the front desk you would make a right and then turn left keep walking straight into another room of games Rad Mobile was facing the north wall. The sit down version is huge and hard to miss. There is a standard stand-up version of the game and it's not nearly as much fun to play. They also had a cabinet Omega Race which I never seen in the wild either
@@jamesnoble3502 It's entirely possible I just missed it considering there are so many things to look at
I feel so sad that my kids will never be able to experience that excitement. I used to get up on Saturday. My mom would drop me off at Herbs arcade. They had at 7 am a 5 hour play for 20 dollars. Next door was a burger place with dollar burgers. This video takes me back to those days and amazing times. The burger place was called Archie’s. Every Saturday. I would finish my gaming fun with a double burger with cheese and fries. That place was the first time I saw Tecmo Bowl.
That's fantastic, sounds like a great time. Thank you for sharing
Let's talk about that amazing shirt you had on, very cool. Galloping Ghost looks like an awesome place but a bit too far for me. Also I love these kinds of videos Pat, keep them coming!
Glad to see a fellow QC native do an episode here. Did one back in 2017, and Doc is one of the greatest people I've met!
Greetings from the quad cities :-) thanks
Kool video man. I was there 2 days after you guys were. I set a new house high on gun.smoke and pandora's palace! The GGA is a lotta fun. Looks like you had a good time. The area where mat mania is located, is his most recent expansion.
OMG I would be in heaven. Too bad I can't get down there, but maybe one day. Amazing! Thanks for sharing.
I wanted to see you play for years, thanks for showing on camera.
You look cyberpunk to me and that is cool.
You bet, I'm just glad I was still able to
Love going to Galloping Ghost. I'm from the Chicagoland Area and come there everytime I'm back in the city.
I can't wait to go again
I had no idea you are a quadruple amputee. Amazing work on playing the games! Impressive.
Thanks a lot
Wonderful video and loved the guest appearance by PD7 … he’s the real deal!
Thanks 👊🏻
Thanks a ton and a nice guy
One of these days you should check out the video game museum in Texas. It's a trek, but that would be a great video
Thank you for taking us on the road with you. Your videos are so light hearted and always puts a smile on my face.....like Gotham City to the Joker
Sounds really cool, And yes I got that joke immediately :-)
Dude, at 11:20 I can't believe that's an actual Bloody Wolf machine like the real deal! That was not released for us here in the US and from what I heard it was rare even in Europe and Japan where it was released at in the late 80's. We finally did get the Turbo Grafx 16 version ported to the Wii I think in 2007 but to date the Arcade version has never formally been released outside of the arcade. Aside from of course playing the games I could see myself just gawking at all the awesome cabinet artwork and marquees that all look like they originally did with no noticeable modifications. Then an exclusive level of NARC at 12:07 has me at a loss for words. Then woah wait...Time Soldiers at 14:22! It's been 30 years since I've seen that machine back when my old barber had one at his barbershop in the corner. Thanks for sharing the memories and it's making me want to save money and plan a weekend trip out of town. 😎
There were so many games I'm sure I missed a lot. I do know there were a lot of Japanese games in the place in my head was spinning around like it was on a swivel trying to see everything. I really didn't play a whole lot of games because I was trying to record as much as I could so I do believe another trip is in order. Thanks for watching
Gotta appreciate someone who loves a classic like Mat Mania.
100% :-) thanks
This was an awesome video. Definitely takes me back to my childhood. There's a place in Hopewell, Pennsylvania called pinball PA. I think it's called. It's got a huge selection of pinball and video games too and there's a place in Girard, Ohio That's pretty amazing but nothing can touch galloping ghost.
Thanks a lot. I love retro arcades
I love this video.; although, there were no mentions of queefs. I'm going to have to go check this out when I can.
LOL, there were none to be found in this retro palace
Yes!! That SPECIAL animation has got me pumped for this video.
Mission accomplished! :-)
Wow you were here and I didn’t know? I wish I knew. Would have been great to meet you Patman. I love the Ghost and frequent it often as it is right outside my hometown of Chicago. Guys if you ever get the chance you have to check it out.
I sent out a tweet as well as posted on here that I was going to galloping ghost. That's why @PD7 Phil popped up in the video
I love you patmanQC!! your vintage game channel is second to none !!
Thanks buddy, I appreciate the comments
Brilliant video, we need more PatmanQC on camera.
Thanks, we'll see what the peanut gallery has to say
Just ran into a Centipede machine a couple of weeks ago. Man! The body language wears you out. I'd forgotten about that! Kids these days have it easy sitting in chairs the whole time!
LOL no doubt
Thank you for your channel. Your passion shows in every video and your comments. You’re one of the few people, I believe, has no hate towards any particular system and just shares your opinions. Hope that makes sense. Thank you for what you do.
Thanks. No, I have no hate for any system. I love all videogame systems and can always find something positive no matter how dire the system or games are :-)
980 machines? Imagine having this as your local arcade back in the 80s/90s. Your brain would explode.
You are one of the most likeable genuine content creators on what can sometimes be a cesspool of hate that is CZcams.
How extremely nice of you to say. Thanks :-)
This is the one where you dismember people...take my word for it! 🤣
You sir, have a sense of humor second to none!
LOL, well at least I'm unique :-)
Thanks for another great video, Pat!
Thank you for watching
I’m in Chicago about 18 minutes away from Galloping Ghost and you make me want to go there again tonight!
LOL, sorry about that. That's the way I feel :-)
Don't have money anytime soon to go there, but at some point within the next year will see my brother in Vermont and will trek over to Laconia, NH for Funspot! Only an hour and a half trip!
I have never been there but have heard fantastic things about it
Great video! Thanks for the tour! Its always nice to see you on camera!
Excellent, glad you enjoyed it. Thanks
PatmanQC walking into his and many of our childhood time capsule of bliss. Man...what a great place!!Thanks! Awesome video!
Glad you enjoyed it! You are correct it was pure bliss
@@PatmanQC-Arcade-Documentaries your content is amazing!! I found you early this year and did a total marathon watching your vids every night while I worked. When I was on your last one I was like, nooooooooooo!😆. Always happy time watching your vids!!
@@JRod-zr8qk That is pretty awesome and glad you found my channel. Also glad you enjoyed the content thanks so much
24:53 you call phil (pd7)… “pete”.
Love your content patman!!
Holy cow, thanks for the correction.
Listening to you speak about games is so awesome! Makes me want to play along!!! Thanks for your amazing content
Thanks a lot, clearly I love them
I’ve been to The Fun Spot in NH, but I’ve always wanted to go to Galloping Ghost. They need a copy Polybius to make it complete. LOL!
BTW you are an inspiration to everyone, keep living your best life, sir…
LOL no doubt. Thank you so much
Was there last year, hoping to get back to it again this year. There was a moment there where I closed my eyes and just listened to all the background noise of the machines running and was transported back in time to the 80/90s.
Yes, the background noise was music to my ears
Awesome!🙌 Thanks for showing
Thank you for watching
This video is fantastic! Thank you PatmanQC for showcasing all these amazing retro cabinets. It was great just hearing all the sounds from the games as you were walking down the isles. I love new age gaming, but nothing beats the feel of going to an arcade and being around other gamers.
Glad you enjoyed it!I couldn't agree more
Love your humour, Patman!! Looks like you had a great time. Thank you for sharing your experience with us!
Thanks a ton my friend, it was a blast
WC. Fl. Lol. Glad to see you having fun. Wish I had time to hit up ghost.
For life brother. Thanks
Absolutely love your videos.
Wish I knew when you were there because it would have been awesome to meet ya.
I posted about a week before I went out there which is why Phil (PD7) came down to meet me. The next time I go I will do the same so stay tuned. Thanks buddy
this was such a pleasure to watch! what a coool location
Thank you so much, It was really cool
So jealous!!! That place looks awesome! Childhood memories 🕹🎯🥊🏓🥅⛳️🎣🔫
Nice upload
Glad you enjoyed it, It's a magical place :-)
Brilliant video as usual mate. And really good to see you on camera. Loving the shirt chap! Great to see that special NARC with the helicopter level. Ah the music from it brings back great memories.
Thanks a lot. I was trying to find footage of that narc level online couldn't locate it so that was something I wanted to do once I got there. I can imagine having to drop $0.25 for every credit because it took a boatload just to get there
I LOVE that old school "TV special" intro!!
Fantastic, I was hoping to invoke that old-school feeling so mission accomplished :-)
@@PatmanQC-Arcade-Documentaries Love your work man. Keep doing what you do and how you do it!!
Happy Little Games hahaha. Great vid as usual.
Thanks a ton :-)
Galloping Ghost is one of my favorite places to go. Any gane you can think of, they have. They've gotten so big, they had moved their pinball machines to another building. It's arcade heaven for sure!
Absolutely
Looks like you went to the White Castle on LaGrange Rd. and Joliet Rd. It's in Countryside, just south of the town of LaGrange. If so, there was a Half Price Books as well as a Disc Replay nearby, if you didn't already know about them.
Good to see the person behind the epic CZcams videos at last, more like this please!
How nice of you to see, thank you
Omg PatmanQC, your in Arcade heaven.💫
I need to make it there to remenis. Great guide n review as always.
AWESOMENESS 💯
Thanks a ton
Really great video about this pilgrimage site. I for one am glad there are other people that grew up in arcades and make content like this. I made the trip myself not too long ago and it was great to get a really in depth tour to see the changes and your favs. Dont miss out on this arcade or the diner down the street if you like corned beef hash
Thank you so much. Thanks for the tip I will definitely check that diner out
Really cool to see you so excited Pat! I have family not far from there, my next summer trip home I need to stop in there! Tons of amazing arcade games, Seeing Sonic Championship was cool! Though never released outside of Japan we’d eventually get a copy of it for the GameCube and PS2! So awesome you met up with PD7, I subbed to him after Milwaukee! Oh man White Castle! The BatMan arcade is glorious, so cool you got to play it!!!
Oh dude, the John Wick joke is awesome my friend! Thank you lol ❤️🎮
Thanks Rob. Next time you're in the area willl have to meet up.
@@PatmanQC-Arcade-Documentaries yes sir! You’re not far from my sisters home, it’s a deal for sure!
That was an amazing video PMQC im from the uk and could only dream of having a place like that over here as thay say only in America ❤❤❤
Thanks buddy I appreciate that. I've heard the UK has a lot of really cool arcades as well
Fantastic work, PatmanQC. I've got Patman fever. I'm going outta my mind. Woukd love to go there.
Thanks buddy
Dood, I miss having arcades like this around.
We had one in our college town, but it didn't last long.
I'm definitely going to check this place out next time I go to Chicago!
It was pretty awesome
Thanks for making this video! I've never been able to visit Galloping Ghost, so it is cool to see what it is like from this video!
Awesome, thanks for watching
Thank you for the great video.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Galloping Ghosts. One of the last road trips I took with my mother was to Chicago just to visit Galloping Ghosts. It took us much longer to drive though and this was back 2017.. Mom spent most of her time there on Donkey Kong, Ms. Pacman, and Super Mario Brothers. I spent longer there because I took an Uber back after we returned to the hotel. I mainly played Bucky O'Hare (The reason I wanted to go there, GI Joe, and the original Star Wars Arcade game (Also the first video game I ever played on my first run then ran through Punisher, and a bunch of Lightgun games on my second run.
That's pretty awesome that you were able to share that with her. Thanks for sharing your memories
Oh man, missing out going here was my biggest regret before I left Illinois. It is on the list to still happen though. Thank you for highlighting it!
Thank you for watching
Ohhhh nice only a 5 hr drive from me I got to check this out. Thx pmqc
Thank you for watching, you should definitely visit if you get the chance
Wow, what an adventure, Patman living the good life! Kinda jelly, haha! Thanks for sharing man, I know you made alot of great memories and relived quite a few on this trip. Thanks again sir for all you do. 😎👍
That was quite the adventure that's for sure. A lot of fun and a lot of laughs thanks so much
That place looks like a whole lotta fun, thanks for sharing.
It really is, thanks
Awesome to watch Patman in his natural habitat 🙂
Love to see that you had a great time !
I need very good reasons to leave my cave, but Galloping Ghost definately would be an exception to the rule.
(if it would be located in "my" city across the pond)
Thanks, glad you enjoyed it. I've heard the UK has some great arcades as well or at least they used to
Another great video, I would like to visit that arcade one day
You should, it's an epic journey
Wow wow wow your videos are always fire but this one is special
Thank you so much 😀
Wow so cool buddy , I wanna go next time
Happy! little games …
Tons of happy little games
You should DEFINITELY make this an annual trip and update! Great tour of Galloping Ghost!
That would be awesome, thanks
Just AWESOME !!!! I wish that I could get there one day .
You should!
That Judge Dredd game looked cool. Usually when I go to FunSpot the only one I end up playing are my old favorites or usually just , Q-Bert, Burgertime, pinball… I used to play that Jackie Chan fighting game often. Wow! Lots of games I have never seen! That Bevis and Butthead looked cool.
That Jackie Chan game was fun
Patman you are the best!! Another gem
Thanks buddy
Love this place I'm in chicago and go at least once a year !! Love the content patman
Fantastic, thank you so much
But do they have Polybious? 😉
Seriously: thanks for the video and your infectious enthusiasm! A true mecca indeed!
LOL, no I did not see that :-) thanks
Absolutely POWERFUL!!!
Yes it was awesome
@@PatmanQC-Arcade-Documentaries You're the best!
Cool tour of this giant arcade with most of the classic arcade games (many no doubt restored in some ways) and helpful interview too. Thanks, Patman! I'd be playing Samurai Shodown 2, Joust, Ms. Pac-Man, Pac-Man, Dig Dug, Tron, Golden Axe, and many more. I wonder if it's a flat rate and then you can just press play for any game rather than quarters. Yes, $25. Cool.
Thanks buddy. It's $25 and you can stay all day long. I don't think they close until midnight. Thanks
Holy cow. I agree though, not nearly enough
