  • This place is amazing! Escape to a walkthrough of this amazing arcade located in northern Illinois. The Galloping Ghost is the world’s largest arcade, and it took over 30 minutes just to walk by each arcade game within it. Enjoy a walk-through of all of the aisles and rooms of this classic arcade. They have everything you can imagine spanning from the 80's to current. Enjoy the sights and sounds of the arcade and see if you can spot any of your favorites.

This is one of the best Galloping Ghost videos I've seen. The lighting is bright enough I can see the cabinets clearly. High resolution. And the way camera moves I get a nice look at a lot of the cabs.

Who wouldn't be impressed with the amount of games they have? But the place honestly looks run down. The arcades in my home town that I practically lived in from 1981 to 1984 were clean. They had their own branded tokens, neon, colored walls and carpets the smell of cheep nachos, warm up oven pizza, cotton candy and popcorn. The interior lights inside at night were just right, not dark. And we can't forget they always had some "Dj" blasting what was top 40 at the moment.
As a matter of fact, whoever built the Arcade Set for Stranger Things S2 knew exactly what most dedicated arcades looked and fealt like from that era. It was scary how accurate they got that set. They captured the vibe, all of it.

I had an idea for my ultimate "dream arcade" of my own that only heaven can afford.
It's a tall and wide building called "Pagoda of Games" (influenced off of the film Game of Death) where every floor feels like time-traveling back into the past decades.
    • The ground floor is a food court, indoor go-kart track, Evo-type Tournaments, and it has 2020s arcade machines such as Street Fighter 6 Type Arcade.
    • The 1st floor is a red room that has every arcade machine from the 2010s.
    • The 2nd floor is a silver room that has every arcade machine from the 2000s.
    • The 3rd floor is a blue room that has every arcade machine from the 1990s.
    • The 4th floor is a purple room that has every arcade machine from the 1980s. (Golden-Age games on the left side, Platinum-Age games on the right.)
    • The 5th floor is an orange room that has every arcade machine from the 1970s.
    • And the roof-top is green and is a mini-golf, batting range and sports center.

It’s located in Brookfield, IL just about 25 minutes from Chicago. If you’re ever up that way it’s worth the drive. There is also another building just of pinball machines also. Unfortunately it was not open when we were there.
