Love when the people truly love what they are working with like the dude in the one store was so hyped that you brought in old games, true gamers right there, love to see it
It’s really cool to see these smaller stores that actually take the time to look through and actually value everything, like it came out as a lower total but the actual excitement the person who worked there had seeing all of it was cool, and it showed how much some lucky few people get to enjoy their jobs

That’s how I do it as well, but as buy it now. I’m in no hurry to sell so price them a tad on the higher end (but still a good deal). Sometimes I even get buyers wanting a number of the games, so I do a custom listing for them.

I actually tried to do the same thing with my local retro game store, just a bunch of bargain bin games (around 100 of them) that I tried to sell and make some money. They offered me $100 store credit and didn't take around 30 of them. Not bad.
Store credit tho. Obviously they will sell the games you will now buy there with a higher price 🤣 not really a steal unless you find treasure there

I am willing to pay up to $4 for any non sports game I don’t have that I find in the wild. So selling these at $1 is sweet. I wonder if you have a flea market you could sell at? Even at $2 a piece, might be worth a day’s work. Anyway love the content as always.

I bet you all would love to play madden and fifa 13
I’ve still got a stack of PS3 games I bought for peanuts when most of the mainstream games stores stopped selling them that I don’t think I ever played!
Other good thing about 360 games is a lot of them run on the new Xboxes
Am I missing something…? The first pawn shop he went to at the beginning didn’t have a limit on taking games and was willing to give him a dollar per game regardless of how crappy they were. Why didn’t he just go back there at the end..?
It's the first place he went too, and he ended at his local place. Maybe it's super far away from where he lives
It is interesting to see how time changes the cost of an item. Once, a person had to pay $40-$50 for a new video game, but now, that game only costs a few dollars as we see from the first offer.

Yep nobody is paying over 100 for junk.
As a former GS employee. I’m wondering how they had a PS1 game for sale in store. We always had to ship those to warehouse after trade .
Wait so all of the older games are shipped back to the manufacture?
@@coffeelink943 probably just back to a GameStop distribution center not back to a manufacturer
I used to run a Gamestation store in the UK (similar to gamestop, owned by GAME at the time, which is VERY similar to gamestop lol). When GAME bought Gamestation from Blockbuster Video they had acquired all of Gamestations stock in the deal and had to transfer everything over to the GAME till system.
GAME hadn't sold ps1 or mega drive etc etc in years, and instead of letting Gamestation carry on selling them, they didn't want to pay tax on all of that inventory, so they did a company wide order to smash the lot.
Every single Gamestation store had to smash and dispose of all retro games, everything up to the PS2 as ps2 they were still selling, AND take video/photo evidence of it all smashed in a dumpster. Couldn't even give them to staff. They didn't want any trace of this stuff as they were writing it off for tax reasons.
When Gamestation went under (GAME is still going btw) I started my own business then, and the skull logo is about trying to bring retro back from the dead or to keep it still going today.

@@achosenone44 yeah ok. 😆
After seeing these makes me realize how little you can get for older games. They don't even try to be competitive when they know some games are worth more than others but yet they see them at the same price when buying.
Because everyone wants to make maximum profit. The person trying to sell the game. The person who bought the game to resell at a profit. If you find fault with this practice then you should have a problem with phoenix as he stated just this when in GameStop of looking for games cheap that he knows he can sell for more. It’s how you run a business
Because you can find most of the games anywhere. Not like they are limited game this is why I don't collect them. And I doubt they care about the how a game is worth.
Love the old super Nintendo TMNT theme that you played when you brought all the bins into Matt's. Memories.
your game stores and pawn shops are really nice
😂 I remember back when GameCube had came out. My nephew had a used one with 20 GameCube games with it tried to sell it to game stop. After tallying up everything. ive been watching for so long and im just realizing you live in my home city and that matts games was literally 5 minutes away from my house,i hope i can meet you one day.
next test is to compare selling in a lump vs individual/small groups. might get quite a bit more as you can barter over certain titles rather than having them get lost in the shuffle and sometimes they arent in the mood to play so theyll just give you a flat rate unless you have an obvious standout shiny charizard sticking
Just started collecting and would be more than happy to take them all at $1 each 😁
Hey Caleb, out of curiosity, how do you approach games that you see are rising in prices but aren't really worth it to pick up yet when at stores? How do you decide when to take a risk or not?

How come they say 2-3$ a piece when you're selling a total of 100 games, and yet they STILL give you lower than 100$?
“We sell them for 2-3 a piece “ so they can’t pay more then a buck
Stores need to make profits to survive. If they sell products for the same price they bought it for, they'll be selling at a loss.
Just give it to charity, kids will love these.
I appreciate the work you put into this
Ahh the goof troop background music. I used to love playing that game with my dad when I was younger. Best times

Dude Crackdown 360 is an amazing game and so I checked, it’s selling fur about $14 used on Amazon, surprised no one caught that
I'm definitely going to make myself a house being lifted by a balloon. That's such an awesome idea❤️
Remember, you literally don’t have to sell it to them. They aren’t ripping you off, your decision to sell to them, rips you off.
With that logic, nothing is ever a rip off hahaha. No one can ever force you to buy or sell anything, so its all your choice.
That Goof Troop music though. I played the crap out of that as a kid, definitely opened up the nostalgia door when I heard it again
Bro as soon as I saw the game exchange on the outside I knew exactly where you were. You live in my home town!! Holy crap! I'm in that game exchange at least 3 times a week.
I don't wanna say the city for privacy purpose but I'm at the mall all the time lol that's crazy.
You should have went across the street from game exchange to half price books, they have a big section of games too. But they won't give you as much as Matt's
Based on this scientific experiment, I would buy from Matt all day long :D
So happy you guys are working towards your goals and I’m so happy I can help
Like the goof troop theme song.... nice touch.
In my experience, GameStop will sadly usually give more cash, but other game or electronics stores will usually trade more stuff. To clarify I wasn’t trading poop, the last thing I traded was a barely used ps2 with the hard drive and adaptor and a bunch of unopened games like armored core and a bunch of others I didn’t know were worth a lot. GameStop wouldn’t take most of it, but one of the local game shops/electronics stores traded me a brand new 360s and a small tv and a 3ds and a bunch of games I wanted. (Needed the small tv cuz roommates were complaining that I was using the tv in the living room for gaming) I had a ps4 at the time and that’s what I had been playing on the tv.
