greetings from isengard. pretty pleased with where vrasku and gorolf ended up. so damn good for the points. best game with the shoot lad (pre war in rohan) ever was vs smaug, watching a captain with delusions of grandeur half kill a freakin dragon was grand. (10 wounds from two turns of shooting just with vrasku. S4 bow for the win)

I'm really boring and have ran combat scenarios for every hero in the game and when accounting for points costs, Gloin is one of the best heroes in the game! Goes something like Sauron, Smaug, Azog, King Ellessar, Dwalin and Gloin. Purely combat focused obviously but he's very strong for his points cost
Gloin is a combat beast, absolutely no denying that, he's definitely on the fence dipping his toes into Stier but there's just other hero's we'd take over him given the opportunity.

Gloin is stupid good for his points. Running him in an erebor rec list with dain and leader dwalin, he's the only one who needs to make courage test within 12" of dain. F6 C6 is so silly for a "hindsight" hero in that army.

an idea for future tear lists that some other CZcams channel may steal in the next 3 years before you get to it. tear list each faction and LL at different points levels, such as 300-400, 400-500, etc.
Nah its for sure something we wanna look at doing soon, maybe not points levels, but just overall

Cirdan being a minor hero really nerfs him to not being S tier. Only leading 6 troops and having 1pt of might in an already low model count/low might army like Rivendell means he poses a big opportunity cost. Him being minor means he’s also not able to be allied into anything efficiently anymore.
Did I miss Orophin? he had a lot of negative feedback and I understand why (no strike no elven cloak etc) but in the right situations he can be great. For instance I have a 350 point tournament coming up ( with no heros more than 100 pts allowed) and I am thinking of Running Haldir (For Strike and Bow shots) along with Orophin (for his 3 Attacks and Whirling blades). I think Orophin would be B+ tier in your list normally but in my tournament I think he'll be S tier. What do you think? p.s. thanks for the video, as ever always quality and useful
Orophin is amazing, I've used him a fair bit myself recently and absolutely loved him. The reason he's not in this video is he didn't make it to Stier in the Lothlorian tier list we did awhile back.

Love the tier videos! I will say I don't think bifur is S tier. A Heroic move is great but he doesn't just get it automatically and I think that lowers him down to A. There have been games with him where I won't get the ax out of his head until the very end and so I didn't get very much utility out of the moves
Thing is tho.
Doesn't matter when you get it, unless it's the last turn of the game, it'll always be such an advantage to have over your opponent.
You do have to work hard for it.
Reflecting on him tho I can see why you go A Tier for him, tho I still think he deserves the top spot, but at the lower end of things.

I understand he’s really good and why they tried to do something about him but I think with Ciridan he should still be a higher tier of hero in a PURE Rivendell list, he’s not just some random bloke 😂
Maybe one day if we get a war in Arnor sup a LL with him included to represent when he actually led troops.
We need some cirdian love.
Shame that GW nerfed him in such a way that he doesn't see much play anymore.

you put Rumil in S because you always take him in Lothlorien. For the same reason, palace guard captains are great. F7, +1 to wound, bodyguard CAPTAIN, right after thrandaddy my 2nd hero pick always, even before Legolassi and Knifegirl. He is so cost efficient and so uncomfortable to deal with.

But if your not taking thandddy well the captain is just a captain, this tier list is looking at each profile in a vacuum.
If I'm choosing heroes to take in an army from just what's presented in the video,I'm taking Rumil over said captain for well 1 the 3rd point of might but mainly his parry special rule.
He is nearly an auto in Lothlorian but not why he made it to S tier in this video.
Yes there is some suspending of disbelief, to allow for good/evil Alliances
@@NoobsandMenjust saying, within his faction,if you are not playing pure rangers, thrandaddy is the autoinclude. And the palace guard captain comes right after. Very harshly evaluated in this tier list^^
Well yeah if your playing pure 100% he's the next take after thandaddy but that doesn't affect his placement in this tier list tho.
In a vacuum not thinking about synergies and what not I'm take Lego or Tauriel over a the captain

Bombadil so high? And goldberry? Goldberry is hardly ever seen because her and bombadil is 300 points of non combat. That sucks. And bombadil is max B tier for me as he is just so incredibly difficult to get value out of, because is buffing 1 hero in your list really going to get 160 points of value? B tier for Bombadil.
Yeah Goldberry is probably a rung lower, just on points really. But not old Tommy B, hes not just buffing one hero, he's stopping siege weapons, he's fucking with your opponents heroes, he's causing all kinds of problems by way of his special rules its kinda mental, Tom makes the game play so very different

Ah yea, I forgot about his game breaking stuff and yea, I see the reason for A tier now, but I still think he is B teir because of his high cost, and the fact that he forces a yellow allience, but the highest points I really play is 600, so I guess he just wprks better at higher points then

Honestly, I gotta disagree with Rumil in S tier there. Controversial take, but I think his special rule is a bit overrated. It's fantastic when it comes into play, but it doesn't really come into play as often as you would think for how hyped it is. In order to get value out of it, it requires: you rolling poorly but not THAT poorly, your opponent rolling well but not THAT well, and there not being so many dice for your opponent that they can roll more than one of whatever their highest number is. Therefore, it not likely to help if you've got the higher fight value and have more dice, since you'll likely win anyways, nor if he gets surrounded, since then your opponent will likely roll multiple 5s/6s, leaving a bit of a narrow range where the rule can come into play. Having run Rumil several times, I can't remember a single time it's actually made a particular difference in combat. Will agree though, he's a fantastic monster stopper, but I don't know if that justifies S tier.
Good points but hard disagree. I've definitely played more than my fair share of Rumil in the past and he's easily won me games by holding key heroes or taking them out all together (with help) it all comes down to how you use him, he's gotta be sitting in your line and going into heroes with a little support for a turn it two just holding them up or chipping away. Then you bring in Orophin or Haldir to help have the killing power a little later in the game.
