Ah perfect, a new video. I will make some food, get my robe, a 24 year old whisky and light a candle. Chill at 1am to watch this adventure for an hour. Just to relax before having a nice nap before having to get up early. The zen I need! So thank you for your videos. It makes a depression day end with cozy comfy '0 f given' relaxed state. I am rambling, because I'm tired. Let's sip, snack and watch.
- Blantons bourbon and my electric fireplace!
Thanks Floris and cheers my friend 🥃💚
@@clairewyndham1971 excellent. Fellow enjoyer!
@@LostLakes thank me? Thank you! Keep making awesome videos. They are a joy. Even if xander is in them 🥸👍
This sounds like a good plan.
The editing on this one is really good. Your production quality gets better and better with every video, and I'm here for it.
Thanks so much!
Exactly !
I make this comment almost every time😂. It’s a joy watching the progress!
That was a special spot with the wolf, truly magical. Reminded me of some of my own November trips that had surprisingly good conditions, such peace and tranquility at that time of year. That is the winter weight sleep pad right? Did you fix it further or did Amok replace it for you?
Intro reminded me of Survivor Man
The sunrise through the fog on that mirrored body of water was stunningly beautiful! Thank you for taking us along ! ❤ 🙏🏻
Thank you for joining me! 💚
Some of my favorite footage yet from Lost Lakes. Really stunning!
That wolf was simply incredible!! Not too many folk can say that they had a wolf enter the campsite!!! Far more rare than a Moose any day not to mention the chances of Eagle dropping a pike bomb on you. Beautiful video, Jon.
Thanks so much Will!
You allow many of us to slip away to the wilderness with you for a little bit each video. Please never stop - it brings a measure of peace in an otherwise chaotic life (for those of us that aren't fortunate enough to get out there ourselves).
Really appreciate that Alexis 💚💚
Ditto
Your humor is not lost on me!! I just love the intricate care that you put into your videos. Even better is your complete respect for nature and the land and fish and campsites that up care for. Then your choice of music is clearly well thought out. I am iced in tonight as I watch this- you provide great joy and comfort! Thank you!
Appreciate that so much Kathleen! 💚💚
We just finished watching your latest video. It is a GREAT photographic journey and well narrated. The eagle dropping it's catch and the wolf sighting was quite a payoff.
My son and I while snowshoeing in northern MN in 2006...sighted two wolves and we all stopped and sized up one another before they ran off into the woods.
It was truly a fortunate moment and I recall saying how we might never experience that again...and we haven't.
We always enjoy your videos as well as those of both you and Xander. So WELL DONE.
Thanks for sharing.
Priceless memory. Thank you so much Jerry!!
Unbelievable moments seeing the fish dropping from the sky and the wolf passing through. John your videos are amazing. ❤
Thank you so much Sandra! 💚
That sequence at the start of day 4 is absolutely incredible. The music, the footage, the atmosphere it creates, it's all just overwhelmingly beautiful. Fantastic video as always!
Thank you so much!
Totally transcendent. Absolutely beautiful!
beautiful view just amazing good work keep it up
Thank you!
I work from home. 5am up to check emails, luckily none so I open CZcams to see what it offers and I’m rewarded with this. I’ve been following you for quite some time. I poured a cup of coffee and settled in. It’s dark and quiet here and it feels like I’m there with you. I absolutely love your videos and am envious of your adventures. Keep up the good work sir.
I truly appreciate that Cary! ☕
What a trip!!! The footage was amazing! The fish bombing, the wolf, the scenery. So well done absolutely incredible 💚
Thank you so much BC! 💚
Like many of your subscribers I savor these presentations. I literally save some special time when I can view them undisturbed in order to do them justice. You have a real gift. Thank you for sharing. I live in Maine and see an occasional moose and I have been chased by a bull once. I am puzzled why you don’t have millions of subscribers!
Truly appreciate that Kevin! 💚
These long trips are amazing. Rooting for this channel to go north of 1 million soon.
Thanks so much Noah!
It blows my mind that you are not over 1 Million Subscribers! Your channel is amazing and i truly enjoy it so much. Keep it up man!!! You and Xander are awesome together. You guy's were really meant to become friends!
Truly appreciate that Chad!!
Lovely trip and well filmed loved the “shooting” tease. The wolf was amazing, what a piece of luck. Thanks for the excellent film of your adventure.
Thank you! :)
It's so stunning to see a wolf, especially that close, when you're not expecting it at all. I had it happen to me last year in a provincial park. The same words as yours came out of my mouth when I saw it. Was very cool!
Priceless
I must say that I search and seek out your channel with great anticipation!🦅 The content of this video is superb and I believe you’re close to acquiring a National Geographic contract. Love the humanity and humour you add… 😊. Keep up the fabulous content…🙌🏻🙌🏻
Thank you so much Cynthia! 💚
Wow! That was absolutely magical and it was completely meant for you! The spirits of nature are with you on your journey! ❤🙏🏻
Thank you again DES! 💚
This was worth the wait. On my fourth time watching this. When I think you can’t top the last video, you drop another like this. Gets me through the winter blues and a hopeful bridge to ice out
💚💚💚💚
Perfect timing during this winter ice storm for a Lost Lakes release! Stellar videography. ( Amok send Jon a new mattress!)
Thanks so much Jim! Hahah Amok is hooking us up 🙂🙂
I used to hunt with a 12 Guage and slugs. Then my 300 Savage lever action. Then I started hunting with my MINOLTA XG 1 SLR 35mm and then NIKON Digital. At some point hunting lost its appeal. You know Jon there are quite a few bushcraft channels, but yours and LONEWOLF 902 are just so well done. I am not sure who is better...both you and Jeremy do so well. My wife and I enjoyed your background music with the video 📹 footage. Your back country trips are just so great to watch.
Thanks a million Mike! 💚💚
The colour of that water is so beautiful. All that tannin washed out from decayin plants makes me so wind-down just watching it, so peaceful.
Several years ago on a once a year summer trip to Wyoming it was so exciting to see a Mother and baby moose drinking out of a puddle next to my camper as I watched from inside. They have to kneel down to drink because their legs are so long. Another day or two passed and again, from the safety of my little camper I saw a Bull with his sweetie passing by within a few feet. I was so shocked and amazed that I was even seeing what I saw I didn't think to document the event with a picture I guess because another camper had just stepped out for a walk with his dog seconds before. I will never forget those moments.
Priceless memories!
Stunningly beautiful. Scene after scene...moment by moment. And that ending.😁👍...This is one I could watch over and over again. Awesome. ❤️
Thank you so much Doug! 💚
It may be unscripted but the amount of wildlife you film feels like you there is one. I enjoy how these adventures turn into their own narrative becoming great stories. Thanks for another great video.
MTO
Nature spoils me :) Thanks a bunch MTO!
I would love to see how you choose to store your food from the bears. As a child I grew up back country camping but the adults always took care of taking the barrels away from camp and storing them up in the trees. So I would love it if you would teach us a little about the safety and process involved in using the barrels and where you select to tie it up away from the bears and such. Your videos really inspire me to get back into these types of trips as they were the highlights of my year during my adolescence!
And I love your storytelling and humour !
Thanks a lot Hannah! 💚 I don't hang here in northern Ontario because hanging limbs are very hard (almost impossible) to find in the boreal forest and even the two-tree method is very difficult to pull off here. Thankfully bears are also very wild up here and rarely habituated to human presence so they generally wouldn't associate a human camping with a food source (a human camping is more likely to scare them off). There are no guarantees though and minimizing scents that would attract a bear in the first place is important. But in a busier park and/or where suitable horizonal branches exist where there are more hardwoods, it's definitely important to hang
Lovin the Artlist tunes. That’s such a cool experience with that wolf encounter and the fact you got it on camera. Little camera chat, gun selection, and wildlife. Awesome way to wrap up the paddling season. Really enjoyable video to watch and glad you had a successful hunt. 🐺 🎥
Thanks a bunch you guys! Got an Artlist license a couple a months ago...finally free of the confines of the youtube library lol
Oh Jon, this video was so beautiful. Your cinematography is perfect. As well as the music. You have lifted my spirits my friend! And you were rewarded at the end with the moose. ❤❤
Thanks so much Joanne! 💚💚
Spotting wolves in the backcountry remains one of most memorable experiences. Just wish I had a better camera at the time. Another great video! So nice to get to watch a new canoe trip in the middle of winter!
So special. Thanks a lot Kevin!
Jon wow, what a terrific vid. At one point in the middle portion, it seemed like there was one amazing scene after another even better one a dozen times! Thank you so much for taking us along.
Very much appreciated!
Jon... your film-making/editing just grows and grows and grows..
Thanks for sharing with all of us as you journey on in the Canadian wonderland, bro. So enjoyable. Magical.
Thank you so much Andy!
Even though I knew it wouldn’t help, I was a bit tense and I didn’t blink as I a scouted for that Moose. What a gorgeous place we live. Thank you for capturing so many beautiful moments. You never know what they’re gonna do --amazing animals and birds! Great when people experience things together as well. 🌱✨💚
Less than 10 minutes in and already getting the pleasure to see three of our iconic Canadian wildlife beings 🇨🇦bedtime snack and pjs on. Love those different looking ducks and truly enjoy what you’ve created here on CZcams ~congratulations 🙌✨💚 all the lakes Thank you so much! V
Thanks so much V! 💚
You didn't get a Moose burrito but you almost had fish tacos delivered! Thanks for sharing.
😆
No Moose but an eagle brings you lunch , a wolf comes to visit you and the beavers with their get out of here splashing tails . Awesome hour to watch and the end was cool !👍
Pretty solid haul! Thanks a lot Dennis!
Day 6, the paddle, the campsite and the view ... WOW! Just speechless at it's beauty. And then to see a Wolf during breakfast. I thought the fish drop was going to be my favorite moment (altough it was epic) Day 6 was perfect. I disagree with you about this trip not being thrilling. These kind of trips are what I'd die for, an Eagle sharing it's meal with you, catching the odd fish, breathtaking scenery, a Wolf encounter and the inner peace all of that brings .. to me, those are the most thrilling trips of all. Thank you for sharing this one.
Thanks so much you guys! 💚
Ive been blessed to be born, raised, and have children in an area heavily populated by moose and endless wilderness. This video really does capture the essence of moose territory and adventure.
Love the winter alone episodes!
It's so crazy how far you've come. Your videos were always enjoyable but your new ones are like movies. It's nuts.
Thanks so much Sam!!
The last few videos you've released are near perfection John. Sure everyone's been commenting about how much your editing has improved, and for good reason, but I want to point out the impact your music selection has had on the quality of your filmmaking. Especially the calming Satyajit Ray-esque cinematic music. I've been repeat viewing simply to experience those moments over and again. Just brilliant...
Thank you so much CRR! 💚 I finally sprung for a music license in December instead of using free stuff...long overdue :)
@@LostLakes It definitely shows! Thank you for doing what you do.
Awesome video the drone and softer music is perfect. I normally watch 13-15-minute-long videos of fishing, surfing, or other outdoor videos, but when I see your 60-90-minute videos I smile and get comfortable to be taking away into nature. Lowering blood pressure and getting me psyched for my next trail hike or mountain bike.
Thanks for all you do you bring us the awesome videos.
Very much appreciated Alex!
Fabulous video. Your photography is stunning! Such a pleasure to watch
Thank you so much Marcus!
I laughed so hard when the raptor dropped his fish at you, and your surprise. In fact, I laughed twice, when you mentioned it at your summation of the trip. Thanks for another excellent journey, and for your strong but gentle spirit!
Hahah thanks as always Kit!
I will say you're getting really good at this editing that's a great talent
Thanks a lot Rebecca!
Thanks for saving one for Feb. Getting excited for open water again. First time I've heard of someone getting bombarded by a pike. Then two bulls wow.
Hahah thanks Henry, almost there!
I found your channel only a week ago, and I've been plowing through your back catalogue ever since. I have to say, I'm really enjoying the videos. Thanks!
Much appreciated Vince!
Both of those encounters were amazing. What a beautiful trip.👍👍
Thanks Jason!
Thank you John for your wonderful and exciting video’s. I love solo canoeing in the BWCA Minnesota but I have never in Ontario. I did moose hunt in northern Ontario with no success, but it was beautiful.
Keep up the great work, you are excellent!!
Thanks again…Timothy Hughes 9:53
Thanks so much Timothy!!
The upper part of the river and music were magical
I don't always comment on every new video you do, but they are always much appreciated. Especially the nighttime sky shots. As a younger man, I would walk away from the light of the campfire and just look at the stars. My friend and I always would ask each other, "Are we alone in this giant universe?". Sleep, and on to the next days adventure.
Fun to explore our wonderful planet but on those nights you realize we're not even scratching the surface of exploration. Much appreciated GB!
I would say it’s a successful‘hunting trip’, with the crazy eagle shot and then wolf , wow!!! Great watch Jon!!!
I think you're right :) Thanks so much Ed!!
So magical and calming. Thank you for the peace you brought to my heart this evening. I am feeling so lost and sad since my husband passed, tears all day. Your videos always carry a message of peace. RIP John Barns. Miss him so much, Cheryl
Hang in there Cheryl...my heart breaks for you. There are brighter days ahead 💚
Gold. Keep being who you are and what you believe in .
It comes thru in every video .
You're becoming one of the best adventurers because of that !
Thanks a million Scott!!
Minute and a half in and can tell this is your best work yet. Great job!
Thanks Justin!!
Epic drone footage! A nice change in the beautiful wilderness! Thank you Jon!
Thanks a lot Daniel!
That eagle was pike bombing you, Incoming!! Such a beautiful place, I miss canoeing and camping.Really enjoyed the background music, matched the lake and skies so well.
Thank you!
Yeah, the editing and music are awesome. Went back to watch an early episode and OMG! Love the humor and the Scotch.
Hahah thanks a lot John!
I truly admire that you can be so at peace alone for a week. We were hiking up a creek in the Yukon many years ago, came around a bend and there were 3 wolf cubs playing on the bank. Its the small brilliant memories that come back to me over 50 years of camping trips and hikes.
Priceless. Thanks Carol!
I understand Carol. Lot's of memories myself after 45 years of camping on the westside of the Cascade foothills. Still do it now and then. The old bones say no sometimes.
@@ufafgd the mind is always willing but the old body just laughs
Oh wow that wolf was so amazing to see!!! What a fun and amazing trip you had. So jealous.
Much love
Thank you! 💚
Yahoo! Finally, a great vicarious canoe trip to enjoy! I'm taking a break from summer trip planning to watch this trip now! Thank you John! This video arrived just in time to answer my exhaustion with winter and feed my anticipation of another canoeing season.
🤠
Pike dropping from the sky, wolf in camp, curious beavers, grouse and moose sparring… wow! I’d say a successful hunt! Beautiful drone shots and quiet paddling!!!
Not a bad haul! Thanks Barb!!
Love getting a new video in the dead of winter from back when you still had open water and blue skies. A nice reminder that all this snow and cold outside is temporary. Cheers and thank you, Jon!
Almost there!
As per usual this was, once again, a stunning video to behold. Your editing skills are second to none and the way you just let certain scenes speak for themselves is an underappreciated quality.
Also can't help but think about you mentioning the rough week you'd had so just want to say that I hope you're doing well now and that you've been able to leave whatever it was that gave you stress behind.
Truly appreciate that Roy! 💚💚
Just wonderful. Great end of my day to sit and watch this video. Beautifully filmed and edited. Loved the music too. Thank you!
Thanks so much!
Good old nature therapy!
Stunning Jon, seeing that wolf was so cool. … so enjoyed this video… wow..
Thanks so much Jim!!
Excellent late season trip Jon, not too much longer now until we can enjoy the open water season again. In the past 2 weeks I've accepted a new job and purchased my first home to relocate to Sudbury. Thrilled be be closer to nature and I have you and your videos to thank for the passion for canoeing your videos introduced me to. Looking forward to your next season of canoe tripping videos, take care for now.
That's awesome Josh, you're going to be a happy camper! Adventures at your doorstep. Thanks a lot man 💚
Beware of the infamous Eagle Pike bombs!! 🤣
😆
Another great video. Love the cloud and sky shots. Beautiful landscapes, colors. I feel like I am there, with the sound of the water and wind. Gotta love the eagle pike bomb. 😲
This one was one of my favorites John. Great editing, and great work. Looks like a fantastic trip.
Thanks so much Brian!
Such beautiful scenery and solitude. Good for the spirit and soul. Lovely video.
Thanks Jason!
So great! I loved it. Thanks Jon and Jimmy. I needed some soft water tripping about now. Ready for spring. Great story!
Hahah thanks a lot Flackee!
Thanks you so much for helping me deal with Farch in Saskatchewan. While I completely commend and appreciate your filmmaking skills, it’s your sense of gratitude and privilege for being in nature which truly resonates with me. To me it’s a model for all of us. Oh, and sharing your sense of humour is the icing, and it this case you had me laughing aloud at the end. Bless you and bravo!
Truly appreciate that Dennis! 💚
The kids and I always enjoy your videos. The 33ish minute mark, of the morning sunrise, was next level!
Thanks a lot Steve!
Awesome video John. Thank you so much for sharing . So glad the eagle missed but hysterical to watch. Your commentary is hilarious. As always your shots are incredible. So glad the wolf came to visit and how fitting that once you and Erin were together you caught your moose . So looking forward to your next journey. You are a true explorer. 😎
Hahah thank you so much Lisa!
Just epic. The placid lake scenes were incredible. You've got an incredible eye for capturing such vivacious scenery.
Bird wise, the two ducks at 8:06 are likely Scoters (according to the Cornell bird app). Taking the time to share those Ruffed Grouse cameos was glorious. What a lovely creature. THANK YOU.
As exciting as it was to see the wolf and moose, I always wonder what you think about being THE solo human in these places, in a world of literally billions. The feeling must be awesome. Great video!
Thank you so much!! It is an amazing feeling and such a privilege
What a blessed trip other than the wind and sleeping pad but spectacular
Absolutely, and in November to boot. Thanks Stephen!
Nice video Jon , You always manage to capture the beauty of where your are, pretty cool seeing the eagle drop his catch. such a spectacular capture of the sunrise through the fog. so awesome when one can catch a glimpse of a wolf i was lucky to see two ,, years back was awesome and as yourself it ran off. a very special moment. thanks for bringing us enjoyed the adventure
So awesome. Thank you as always Sue! 💚
I stumbled upon your channel over the winter, and it's become a favorite. The strange site you stumbled upon with the barrel, box and the old stand is a bear bait sight. It's likely accessed via the water, which explains the flagging and rough trail.
Makes perfect sense. Thanks a lot Paul!
Your video presentations are exemplary
Thanks a lot Terry!
The morning of Day 5….amazing. Your camera work is so good and left a breathtaking few minutes of enjoying the scenery around you.
Much appreciated ej!
Wow you got lucky! Some of those shots of the fog burning off were pretty special too.
Spoiled by nature :)
Always an amazing adventure watching you. Love the wildlife!!!
Thanks so much Patricia!!
YAHHH buddy
I loved this so much! Little bits of magic in everything you capture. Wolf was kind of ethereal. Happy for you, Jon. (PS I cried (quiet) happy tears the first (and only) time I saw a bull moose < last year at Glacier National Park. He was very gracious about allowing me to admire him. Thanks for your awesome videos!
Thanks so much Beth! Such a special moment, very worthy of happy tears
Such beautiful scenery. Watching the sun go down as it throws its reflection on the lake. Beautiful, absolutely stunning
I.missErin
Every season brings it's particular charms. You've captured this shoulder season beautifully. Your soliloquy at 37:30 says it all. Thanks Jon.
And I love that Pal.
My favourite youtube channel, the production is getting so much better
Thank you so much Edi! 💚
knocked this one out of the park, Jon Theriault! haha still can't believe you almost caught a pike straight from the deep blue the sky!
Hahah thanks a bunch Mike!
This is the channel I will come to at 2 am on a friday when I come home while 🍃🍃
Brilliant, Beautiful, Majestic. Thank you, Jon.
Thank you Rita!
What you choose to film and the pacing of your videos is near perfect. Just what I needed to see in the dead of winter. Love it! Thanks Jon great video.
Really appreciate that Bry!
Wow! Thanks for taking us along. I can only ditto the previous comments but the sunrise /fog footage is over the top.
Thanks so much Gary!
This brings me joy. Amazing camera work. I love seeing your adventures.
Thanks so much Morgan!
This video was so smooth and wonderful to watch. Thank you Jon ❤️❤️
Thanks so much Jody 💚💚
Just watching your videos is a such a stress reliever. Can't wait til spring so I can get out. Thank you Jon.
💚💚
Awesome trip! Wow that wolf was incredible and was definitely interested in seeing what you were up to. Nothing much cooler than that experience. Thanks for sharing!
Thanks a lot Schmitty!
Gosh, that was a good one. The wolf - what a knock out. The eagle nearly hitting you with his pike - priceless. And the stunning Canadian scenery never gets old. Again, the music you use in your videos takes them to the next level. Thank you so much for doing these; they mean a lot.🛶🍁
Really appreciate that!
