I love that cycling has advanced so far that hardtail skills are now seen as some kind of mystical art.
Haha that was exactly my thought.
It is art. Just think if people would try a fully ridged, mad skill
You nailed it!
@@ericdavidson5011 Just look at the drops to flat people do on 20" BMX bikes. Fully ridged. Its insane these days
That is the absolute truth. I rolled up on my hardtail at a mountain bike demo day and I swear to you other Riders acted as if I had come up with a piece of the True Cross
Blake+hardtail=like
I only ride Hardtail’s and feel they are perfect for most trails. My geared HT has a Fox34 up front it’s an Esker Hayduke and the steel frame and tough fat tires take the edge off most of the chuck. My SS is a fully rigid Seven Sola, I have i35 rims with 29x2.6” rear and 2.8” front. Fat high volume tires are a must and so is picking a line and trying to float over the rocks. Hardtail’s rule and I love em!
we want back "hardtail week"!!!
2020 for "hardtail year"??
Serious Hardtail love over here. Our local trails are very hardtail friendly and great for learning.
The body position tips are spot on to save your arse.
Using my legs as suspension is something I’m definitely going to benefit from.
Thanks for the tips, mate.
I am back on a hardtail after 25 years on FS bikes..feels AMAZING. I cant explain why but I feel much more in control
Oh man I love this guy😂 he is always so energetic
Blake is a god on hard tail
Honestly, loving my Hardtail. It's perfect
Mine too. One less thing to break, meaning the rear suspension.
@@foxykc generally lighter too, unless you spend big bucks obviously.
For Intermediate Use They Are Perfect 😎 My First One I put Over 6000Km On It 🙃
Just got my hardtail last week. I've hit three different trail systems in North Florida. I love it and look forward to becoming a better rider. It's only a Giant Talon 2 27.5inch, but it's plenty for me.
How tall are you? And how do you like the 27.5?
@@miguelfragoso7023 5'3, so a small frame 27.5 is just right for me. I enjoy the 27.5. A 29 would be too tall.
@@Daniel-xg3ul ahhhh makes sense. Thanks for the reply!
@@miguelfragoso7023 I’m 5’10 and I rock a 27.5 and love it 🤙
Just got a new hardtail! Super pumped on it! GMBN helped me a lot in picking it out and with awesome riding tips, love you guys!
Hey Blake so glad to watch your videos about hardtails! Thank you master!🤙🏼
definitely needed this type of video to learn from!
same
Loving my hardtail. I tried to like full suspension but just can’t. Thanks for the tips!
I have a Dartmoor primal 29 with a 150mm pike almost new. Playful and fun all the time. Great for improving my skills. Love it
Aaaaa! Were is the Rebound and lockout dile on my leg Blake.😂🤣😜🤔.
Those are called muscles and tendons. Not quite as good as a suspension fork, but it's all we got.
Lock your knees for lockout (you might break ur legs like that). And loosen ur legs and push back down hard for rebound
Great vid and tips. Love riding a hardtail. Always carry a spare tube even though we're tubeless.
Loving all the hardtail tips videos Blake 🤘👊
It's helping alot with my Scout as I've not ridden hardtail for about 8 years
Learning all the skills I used to know again 😁
Great stuff #GMBN 👊
Love this went out on my voodoo hard tail yesterday brilliant
Hard tail for ever.. luv the hardtail videos
Great vid - sounds like a chapter out of William Nealy's 'Mountain Bike - A manual for Technique' except his book was written before suspension was thought of!
Loving the Hardtail content even though after riding Hardtails since '91 I recently got a full Susser............still ride my Hardtail ( but it's more my second bike now).👍.
This video was very informative and helpful I really enjoyed it
Keep it up guys 👌💪
you guys rock 🚀🚀🚀 thx Blake 🔥
Is this the same man who killed MEGAVALANCHE 2019 on A HARDTAIL?????
That's what I was thinking!
Yeah he is
Blake mister hardtail 😎🤗
This guy will megavalanche in an unicycle.
Only ever ridden a hard tail. I don't like the feeling of duel suspension bikes.
i hear you! i miss my hardtail. i broke the frame after 5 or 6 years of hard riding and decided it was time for a fully. it's been 1 season and i'm already thinking about building up another hardtail!
@@sycpup yup, I started racing BMX in my youth, then moved up to a hard tail 29er, I couldn't afford a duel suspension bike. It's all I ever knew, I've even taken it down some pretty rough downhill courses, and I felt it handled it very well. I also bent 1 frame before and also some components when I was younger but for a few years now I've looked after mine very well, stripping it after every ride (I don't ride as often as I used to) and re building it again, if you look after them properly, hard tails can handle almost anything 💯
How come you don't like the feeling if you never rode one? Is it the price you don't like rather than the feeling which you don't know?
@@Palios33 what I meant was I've only ever owned a hard tail. I've ridden my friends duel suspension bike but didn't like it
@@Palios33 right everyone loves hardtail videos because thats what most have because full suspension is so expensive. I have a hardtail but i would ditch it in a second for a quality full suspension. Just dont want to\ cant fork out the money for it.
You have inspired me and my friends so much in mtb. You also gave us the courage to post our own edits on my channel.
Love watching Blake shred with that Scout!
Thank you so much for this Blake!!!
I Literally Needed this To Avoid my Terrible techniques on my Mountain Hartail Bike!!!
Thanks Blake!!!
GOD BLESS US ALL!!!😊🌄😇💖💯
I broke my hardtails front wheel Yesterday and this video came today what a coincidence. Thank you gmbn
when your full sus breaks and you buy a hard tail, hey Blake how do I. ride this ?!?!
I love the aggressive wheelying :D
It's like you want to charge forward with every inch of muscle you have, that the bike can't contain your power and just wheelies :D
ive finished my hardtail yesterday... nice tips
Even though I don't ride a hardtail, this was still a great video to watch!
Some good points 👍
I don’t get why hard tails are so underrated and tbh when doing jumps like a line on whistler you doing need 200m of travel because if you land correctly then you just go down the jump #hardtailparty
One day i'll have front suspension, someday
we all dream of it
19th love your videos keep up your amazing and great videos thanks this biking channel is the best.
Nice vid.what app are you editing your vids thanks
Bro You Ride like a Beast 💪
Man, you are superb rider. How long have you been riding?
Love my nukeproof scout!
I love hardtail.. 🤘
Took my HT to Cody and Snowdon this year and suffered big time my confidence went back 5 years . I couldn't afford Full Suss then but I have one now !
Great video. "Let's keep shredding!"
the rear wheel one got me good. i try to manual or wheelie literally anything i ride across
I love sending it down my hardtail all the time! But it's a lot of time choice! Finally got a full sus and it takes some time to get used to the full sus
Thanks Blake
Cool vid. About two months ago I decided to go full hardtail for a season and parked my collection of dh specific bikes. So far I still out shred most guys I ride with lol. I live in the Vancouber area so I have ocer half a dozen mountains to play on without traveling far. You are so right about the rear flats though lol. 🍻🇨🇦
Vancouber is the vest.
@@wzpu3283 lol, 🤷♂️🍻
Great tips Blake woop woop. Still gonna stick with the dualie though
Hey gmbn I know you guys ride canyon full suspension bike and are sponsored by them. I was wondering what bike you would recomend between the strive and spectral?
I'm definetely guilty of rear wheel favoring, and I have a dent as well to show it lol. Added cushcore and and working on improving technique.
that gmbn tshirt looking fire
I have a hard tail and a full suspension bike 🤓hard tail is a GT Zazkar and my full suspension is a Trek Remedy 🤓 currently working on trying to get a giant trance or rein
Nice vid
Hi, what model of Poc helmet do you wear?? Thanks, great video...
Big fan
Wanting to upgrade my frame from a hard tail to a full suspension, any ideas on what frame? Thanks
I ride a nukeproof hard tail too thanks for the info!
Ask if you have a inner tube when you have one attached to your bike is also a mistake some people make...
given my 2 recent accidents this video is pretty fitting for me. :)
ah but alas Blake didn't cover taking your eyes off of the track for that split second resulting in a crash
How about putting a sealant on my interior tube on the rear wheel? Because I find it a necessity for some reason since i don't carry extras
Great advice Meta an ht
I don't even own a fully and yet ride down black lines. I get some weird looks but it sure is challenging and rewarding!
What a great biker Blake is
AS STEEZY AS BLAKE is how I WISH I could RIDE my hard tail. Big up Blake and Crew for the inspirationals.
Looks like he's having loads of fun :)
I have a question to send in for the ask GMBN anything segment and dont quite remember where to send it in at
Where do you carry that pumps you were using at 2:03
I Have A 03 Brodie HT It's Sweet I'm Making It AWESOME 😎
My problem with my leg suspension system is that it fatigues faster than a rear suspension. That's why i do it because it's harder because it makes me a better rider.
Blake, what rim width ant tyre width do you use?
What length and angle stem do you guys recommend for a hard tail?
B on the MTB is Blake. MounTainBlake👍🏻
Was this shot in Portugal?
Loved my rear wheel too much the other day had to buy new tires since I’m tubeless and I ripped a hole in the sidewall
What pump are you using at 2:03?
Neutral body weight is good, but there's a reason we sit way back on the tire on a hard tail and that's to keep the backend down so it doesnt squirrel around on steep/rough terrains... On drops, you better be sitting on that back tire or else you're going over the handlebars.
I've never had a bike with suspension of any kind. I'm 56 years old, I'll wait a little longer before go that route. Sticking with my trusty mongoose that I've had for almost thirty years😁
Wow where is this? It looks beautiful. Italy?
Beautifull
I love you Videos blake
Are those still Neil's forks? Been thinking this for awhile now
What a view I would not mind if I had to stop
HI bro,, could you please uploads a video...
Do's and Dont's.
I'm sorry to ask it here but I've seen a few vids already and I do love them!
But what I can't understand or see clearly are the pedals. Is it personal preference using flat pedals or cleats while riding MTB?
Yup, entirely preference.
Awwryyttt keep sharin idol
where was this filmed?
You should make a challenge video with matt jones shredding trails using hardtails. That should be fun.
I currently ride a hardtail with a 120 fork but in 2 weeks I’m moving up to a 2020 giant trance 3 27.5
Is rockriser st 530 into jumping on trails?
(writer aged 50)Sensible comments if you've never ridden a hardtail before. As an old git who who raced national elite in '93, just ride! With age, fitness drops and fear rises and hence I have stuck to hardtail and have never ridden FS. Still have fun burning off the youngsters on their FS steeds at Cannock Chase, my local centre. Just ride, build your skills and fitness and enjoy!
Hey there hardtailists....use Tannus Armour inserts and an inner tube . Run18 psi on that rear...18 months of use I've not burped or pinched... stuck one on the front too
Which nukeproof is this? I want one!
you filming this in montenegro?
More hard tail video please
Most mountain bikers are doing XC but GMBN content is overwhelmingly trail/DH/enduro. Come on guys give us some XC content!
What is the best hard tail under 2000
Riding my whole life, only rode one full sus my whole life and it was a 5 minutes demo from the LBS. only ever had hardtails, but that's not to say I wouldn't like a full squish.
Lads... run your hardtail rear wheel with Tannus Armour with an innertube! . Run lower pressure with confidence . Mega grip up and down ....no punctures, pinches or burping . Game changer.
On which place is this beautiful trail????
