GM Maintenance Procedure calls for the DCT Housing threads to be cleaned with a “thread chaser” BEFORE installing the new DCT filter housing bolts. It’s because there will be old thread lock being left in the thread holes and if not cleaned out will result in over torquing of the new bolts!
curious, were you reusing the original bolts? I've noticed most of the filter kits come with new bolts for the housing and o rings for the filter housing cover and filler port. I'm wondering if the bolts have failed often enough that the new bolts are now included?
no I use the new ones I think the bolt in question could have been “defective”
I mean could happen. Anyway they are not supposed to be re-used.

@JoesGarage-c8corvette the video tells you step-by-step how to replace it. Shows you pictures of the bolts that need to be removed from the panels and once you remove the panels it shows you the DCT filter canister 4 bolts that need to be removed and also explains to use only your hands and no power tools etc. hope this helps. BTW I follow your channel.

You didn't say how you snapped the bolt! Power tool????? Warn what not to do.
Hi thanks for commenting. The book says 53 inch pound of torque I used a torque wrench and I put 52 in-pound
just to make sure when I did the last one it broke usually I do less first then go higher to what the spec says first time it happens and also was tightened in a X pattern. I was so mad. I hand tightened them no issues. I think the bolt could have been “defective” who knows lucky I had another filter kit available and I used those bolts and ordered more
$6 each. Any questions more than happy to answer them.
