  • I use acoustic sealant often when soundproofing a room. Why and where I use acoustic sealant is what I talk about in this video. Acoustic sealant or also known as acoustic caulking is like caulking but what makes it different is this type of caulking will not crack over time.
When the caulking around doors and windows begin to crack, it will not only let in light but it will also let in noise. This soundproofing material is worth the extra versus caulking. You'll most likely only need one tube to complete what you want to soundproof.
Here's a link to the acoustic sealant I use! All links are from Amazon.

To be honest acoustical caulk is a waste of money. Just use quad or dynaflex (outdoor window, door and siding) that stays rubbery for quite some years. Especially if it’s inside away from cold, water and direct UV/sunlight. And honestly a tube 100% silicone or siliconized painters caulk can do the same trick

My tubs & sinks have zero caulking I dunno who did the Reno here but they were awful

You should definitely add some. The water will easily get between the sink and counter top and begin rotting, unless it’s a stone countertop, then it’s not as bad I guess.
