IT'S ANOTHER 50+ MAKEUP MONDAY! Simple, subtle contouring can really be powerful and give a natural look! This is all about basic contouring that is completely doable for us aging women!

Hi Jill, I just had to let you know, I tried some of this contouring today! I've been going to same hospital for 5yrs now, 4weekly visits, so I know the nurses pretty well... one in particular, and she was convinced that I'd lost weight, so much so she took me to scales to prove to me that I had!!!... I'd put ON ...only about 3lbs, but I just loved knowing why she thought I lost! ... will definitely be doing this more often.. keeping it subtle but enough to back the difference... thank you for this video once again xxx hope you are well, bye for now xxx

Great video Jill, love your tips on contouring your jawline and nose. This area has been my biggest problem. I’m going to try this method today! I too am a mature “vintage” woman, I’m 62 and still love makeup, not ready to give it up yet. Thank you for your videos, keep it up👍🏼

Thank you for this video!!! I've been watching 20somethings doing this ...who don't have any extra skin, let alone jowls starting!!! I don't mean to offend you by saying that either!!! My loose, sagging, jowly face looked NOTHING like videos I'd been watching and I was beginning to think contouring was only for thin young people!!! You used so much less makeup than I've seen done ...and the results are fantastic.. even saw a difference on your nose and couldn't see how such little pigment could!! I've only seriously tried once to contour and didn't blend down neck and also blended up and down cheek... I'm definitely gonna try your way next time.. once again, I thank you for your help, us older gals have to help each other. Looking forward to topper Tuesday's video xxx

I’m also very fair with light brown hair with blonde highlights. I like the Kevyn Aucoin for powder contour. I recently discovered the Fenty contour stick in Amber that works beautifully with my cream products. I’m a kidney transplant candidate and have extremely dry & sensitive skin that is prone to Rosacea. I really like the Chanel Water Tint for light coverage in the summer (Alabama gets very hot &humid) and the Lady Gaga’s Haus Labs foundation in 050 Cool for medium coverage. It has ingredients that help reduce the inflammation of rosacea and doesn’t dry out my skin more.
Mill this was the absolute BEST contouring 101,video I have seen for contouring the mature face. Using the ear spot....It's the trigeminal....is a fabulous way to explain where to start your contour. Thanks....I love your instructional videos!

I used the Laura Geller 'The Delectables' palette of which they do not make any longer. :( I tried to look for it on Amazon, but did not find it. You would be surprised though how many eyeshadows can work with this. Make sure they are matte, and not too dark or orange/warm if you are fair... Experiment!! Thanks for watching today!!

How did i miss this goodie...i have tried to contour..this was so helpful..i have some real need to use illusion when making up this mature skin.
Have you checked out -tarte contour powder...they have some nice in the "park avenue princess " line...i totally get it,some are so dark i use then for my hairline and for eye liner.
Oh wait..i didnt tell you i got diagnosed with hoshimoto ..a autoimmune disease of the thyroid, that why i am loosing all my hair...i recently gave myself a pixie hair cut it ..that was off subject but another reason i love you..so many great wig videos

Haha! Keep me posted on how it goes. It's so easy...and pretty amazing what a little contouring can do! Subtle is definitely key I think...the more subtle you can get away with, the more powerful it will be!!
I have a different face shape but I think your makeup selections will really work with my skin. I never know what to use and have boxes full of mistakes. I will let you know how it goes! Getting older means I have to be subtle, LOL!

The scientific term is "little nubby thing on the ear". I know.. kind of technical but what can you do? Actually it is called a tragus. I love your videos. They are so informative and you are a good teacher.

Thank you! Excellent tutorial. And your hair, not sure what you did differently, is on point. (What did you do, actually? It's blending perfectly and appears a tad darker. Good cutting.) Lighting/background also kicking it. I'm not a "must wear a lot of make-up every day and spend time on it before running out of the door" gal, but I'm thinking of giving the contouring a try. Oh yes....contouring and highlighting is for all face shapes. It's just a matter of knowing what features you want to pop, and which you wish to recede. ;)
