  • Hello there to all my gorgeous, aging friends. I have been working for months trying to get this whole 'baking' thing work for my older , crepey, eye tissue. I think I finally have made it work. I love that my concealer stays all day, and that it also helps my under eye makeup stay all day as well! Thanks for watching!
*** I had a VERY good question that I should have clarified in this video. I do not put any foundation on under my eyes before (or after) I do this. I just put the concealer on after my eye serum...then the powder. ;)
To Purchase any skin care products mentioned that I sell in my skin care practice please visit my online store:
    squareup.com/s...
I also adore the Peptide 3 in 1 Eye Cream to prep my eye tissue for this, and it is lovely. It's a light, silky cream that absorbs beauitully. It's packed with age support, and nourishing 'food' for the face ingredients.
    www.jilllynnbea...
    I use for this:
Tarte Shape Tape (I use light)
Kat Von D Lock it Translucent Powder
Make sure your eye tissue is well hydrated w/ a light lipid serum. Light serums are great. You can use your favorite eye cream as long as it absorbs nicely.
I also love using an under eye primer like :
SMASHBOX Photo Finish Hydrating Under Eye Primer
Here is the brush that I use to pack the powder on over the concealer:

I also sometimes use these mini beauty blending sponges to pack on the powder:

Here is the brush I use to sweep away the powder: (I adore this brush...I use both sides for various tasks...and I use it a lot!)

So glad I landed here- Personally, I really liked you taking it slow enough and being thorough-VERY helpful!!! Now all I have to do is find the products of serum etc which might work with my sensitive skin and eyes and will mesh together- This oldie but goodie gal has never used foundation, concealers and primers until a couple of weeks ago- but so tired of looking at the multitudes of age spots-So I've been kinda obsessed on searching out the what to dos and the what not to dos while buying on a shoe string budget- It can be VERY confusing- THANK YOU for your tut on this!!

    Hi Jill,
I'm in my 50's and never used much makeup. I discovered "baking" by accident ten years ago. The first time I did it, I instantly got compliments and everyone though I had gotten an eye lift....lol. So I kept doing it. It does make a difference. Later on, I found tutorials for hooded eyes. Doing all this has almost 'stopped my aging'.
Btw, great video....no annoying bg music, you have a real personality come through, and do easy step by steps.

thank you for sharing Jill, yours done looked great, I haven't really got the hang of the "baking"-so I will try your tips on it. when did doing makeup get so complicated??? I'm 50, and boy has it changed since I started wearing it in the early 80's. Contouring alone has taken me a while to get right. Appreciate you taking the time to show us how you do it.

I am just turned 50, and I love Laura Merciers translucent powder and her mineral powder makeup ...I bought both of them about 2yrs ago and still have lots of the products left in them , I am not a fan of powder normally , preferring a dewy finish ...but I must say that these powders changed my mind. I find the translucent an invisible miracle worker for setting and all under eye work. .. her mineral powder makeup gives me a very natural , no makeup look that I love. Thank heavens I love them and get on with them so well though because they were a bit too pricey for me to try any others until these are used up! 😁.

Thank you for this video, as a Black/Caribbean woman who will be 60yrs this July 2018, I have notice over the years how my skin has change. Going from an oily, to combination, too dry/normal in some parts of my face. Especially down my eyes, which tends to get dry. But as a Beauty Therapist, am always on the look out for the best products for blacks skin, depending on how you look after the skin. My favourite concealer at the moment is Revolutionbeauty Conceal and Define. This conceal has gone viral, it's brilliant product.

I knew of baking and did not try until a few weeks ago. I'm amazed at the staying power, I now use a damp sponge and powder to set my whole face, it keeps me matte for so long. A couple of days ago, it kept me matte for 10 hours.

Truly helpful, I kept thinking I was using too much concealer and it seemed more a "revealer" than a concealer. I'd been finding less-is-more for my mature skin, but formulas are improving since I last tried concealer several years ago and I'm an old dog that's willing to be taught a new trick. I'm even getting into color on my eyes (rather than neutrals) this past couple of weeks and to my surprise my husband liked it and he's usually a minimal makeup on me fan.

and just an fyi. I've never tried the smash box under eye primer, but I used the elf hydrating under eye primer and it is very moisturizing and seems to help the under eye products glide on. I don't know if it helps keep the products from settling and caking into lines, but the whole combo is just wonderful!!

Shape tape (heavy) with the Flower Beauty translucent loose powder works for me.
I work fast with a small beauty blender and have my powder brush ready to go and powder before any creases happen!

Hello I am a new subscriber! I absolutely love your channel and although i do not consider myself in anyway shape or form old or older. And neither are you!😀 and your tips really do help I have excessive amount of under eye skin due to prolonged swelling because of a accident I was in, you wouldn’t think that would cause this problem but yes honestly it did i was extremely swollen for a long long period of time due to having the lower half of my face nearly destroyed in a car accident so there was a lot of swelling for a long time and although they were able to do amazing things to fix a lot of the damage and problems but the. Under eye issues was not something that was considered critical so I’m kind of stuck with it for now thank you again I will make sure to watch your channel often. As every little tip helps as all of us age and there’s no reason why we should not age as slow as possible and as gracefully as possible. Thank you again so very much good luck in everything that you do.
PS as soon as I can find a translucent powder that works for me I have had a very hard time finding anything that works well I will let you know how this particular way of doing it works for me again thank you so much for taking the time to explain this.

Goodness...so sorry to hear of your accident! Skin care may help to reduce swelling a little, along with LED LIGHT THERAPY and some Microcurrent by a technician who is very well trained. WELCOME to my channel! I am so happy you found me, and I hope you find plenty of content you enjoy and find helpful! Here is THE ONLY at home LED device I love and also sell to my clients. The benefits for the skin are many, and is also very healing for bruising, swelling etc. Many Plastic surgeons use LED for that very reason.. I have one left in my stock at the moment. Here is a link if you are at all interested. ;) www.jilllynnbeautytherapy.com/item/lightstim-wrinkles

This is a fantastic video and I agree with your advice about the Kat Von D Lock it Translucent Powder. I was using another popular setting powder and it looked terrible. Using the Kat Von D powder made all the difference! I have used both the Tarte Shape tape and Lancôme Effacernes Undereye Concealer and greatly prefer the latter. It seems to have better, long lasting coverage.
Thanks for your video, it was a great help!

Nice tutorial. Glad you mentioned that you have to find what works for you. Tarte cosmetics are horrific to my skin. They dry me up, cake like crazy and just don't work. I am in lust with the Maybelline Age Rewind concealer--it is incredibly hydrating and just wonderful. Have you done a contour video yet? If not, will you? I'm too lazy to film one but it would be great if you did.

Hi there! It is so true...everyone is different, and are looking for different 'things' /in their focus within the products they choose. I have 2 Age Rewind concealers and use to use them often, but have found that they simply do not last throughout the day even with setting powder. I have yet to land on 'the perfect' one..because the trade off seems to be 'thick' consistencies that I am not fond of either. :( For now I deal with the 'drying' look Tarte can give with priming the eye tissue with a good eye serum/product that will hydrate well before use. But it tends to last all day, never creases and has great coverage all of which Age Rewind concealers seem to not give me. I will put contouring on my video list! Thanks so much for watching, and hope you are having a lovely weekend!

Love this video, thank you for sharing your tips on how to create this look because I have been wondering if it will work for me since I'm starting to have creepiness around my eyes. I recently realized I don't use enough concealer around my eyes and your video helped reaffirm this. An undereye primer that I purchased recently and I'm currently testing is by Elf Cosmetics (it's doing very well so far). I think it's only available on their website as it's new.

Hi Jill. I just found your channel and enjoyed watching this video. When I was in my forties--I'm in my 60s now--I developed eczema. The only skincare I can use is Exederm and the only makeup I can use is Jane Iredale. I have tried others, but they trigger flairups. I use the Exederm moisturizer all over my face, including my eyes. I'll try this technique to see if it works with my products.

Awww...you are incredibly sweet! You are so welcome, and let me know if I can help with your skin in any way. Try soaking a cotton round in some brewed green tea. (like a GOOD sourced green tea)...let it sit on your eye that is swollen for like 15-20 minutes and follow with a good eye product. The tannins, and caffeine can bring down the swelling a tad, and also tighten the skin. HEY! I just thought of something! HAHA! Here is a video that I did on this that you may find helpful! czcams.com/video/9OKYCWWkZfg/video.html

I recently turned 40 and have been struggling with the eye area lately. I also noticed that I need to use less foundation because if I put too much on, it makes me look much older. So now I have to spot conceal and then use minimal foundation. I've been oily my whole life and have used all kinds of powders, but now I am getting dry patches in certain areas and powder in general just makes me look awful. The only powders I can use now are the BY TERRY Hyaluronic Hydra Powder, which is the most natural looking powder I have ever used in my life, and the BECCA Soft Light Blurring Powder, which is good too but I have to use a lighter hand. I used to love the Laura Mercier but it's not for older ladies at all. I will use a little bit of that one sometimes on my forehead and nose because I feel like it gives good oil control. Now I really want to try the Kat Von D powder!
