@@sara_khong Thanks once again for the recommendation. Will need to go source the ikan bilis when i'm free. I live in Australia and not in a big city so getting ikan bilis can be a challenge but still very keen to try it out

Ermm, there is 5 ingredients for making soup instead of just the anchovies
Hello. Yes, I have taught authentic, hawker-stall like pan mee in my cooking class as well. There I use things like chicken bones and rock sugar on top of anchovies. But for a simple, at-home meal, we only use anchovies because its easier. Sometimes if we have frozen chicken stock we'll use it too. What other five ingredients do you use?
