    🥘 ABOUT MALAYSIAN DHAL CURRY
In Malaysia, lentil curry (dal curry) is not only enjoyed by the Malaysian-Indian community; every Malaysian loves it!
We love eating it at the Mamak (Indian-Muslims restaurant) with roti canai, the Malay word for prata or flat bread. At home, we eat it with rice too.
This recipe is taught to me by Aunty Clara, she cooks this 'kari dal’ (lentil curry) for her family a few times a week. But in this video, I’ve simplified it. Originally she uses dried chillies, fresh red chillies, and milk. I omitted all that. So this dhal curry is not only vegetarian, but also vegan.
If you’re on a keto diet, this is perfect as it’s filling and rich in protein.
But I personally love it for its immense health benefits. The potent spices and rainbow coloured vegetables are so good for our body. The best thing is, you can make it in just 25 minutes!
p/s: this is my lazy healthy meal. Find out what I do with a big pot at the end of the video.

Very similar to how Jamaicans make Vegetable Soup or Mannish water. We just add parts of the Goat or Chicken, Cho Cho, Yam, Green Banana, Dumpling. We put in various colours of Vegetables (Which all colours have a different positive effect on both body and mind). Our Rice and Soup dishes are very similar to Malaysia.

I am very fond of Pakistani/Indian food as I've been eating it for as long as i can remember. But, i have to admit that I've never come across a DAAL curry cooked with potatoes and Aubergines. After having watched your video, i was very impressed on your idea of combining vegetables with Daal. Please try cooking daal with GHEE (clarified butter)next time, i promise you it will smell and taste much better. A very improvised idea by you. I've now asked my Indonesian wife to try your Daal recipe combined with vegetables. I will let you know how it turns out and how it tastes. Carry on with your innovative cuisine.

Fortunately, I do have the 5 Spice mix in my pantry, and will be trying out your recipe, without any alterations, of which I am always inclined to do. :) . As for suggestions, as you requested. Here is what, I recommend. As per the quantity, in your upload. Heat approx 2 TBSP Oil (Med high heat ) in a small frying pan. Crackle, 1 tsp brown Mustard seeds, 1/2 tsp Cumin seeds, 1 Dry Red Chilli , 2-3 Garlic cloves ( Roughly smashed, 5-6 Curry leaves. Keep stirring and fry until garlic is slightly browned. Pour this mix, into the curry, after it has been switched off. Mix well. Cover and let it sit for 5 minutes. Enjoy :)
