    @HeyChickens Před rokem +35

    According to studies, mosquitoes look for pulses of co2, not steady streams of it. There are a lot of sources of randomly higher concentrations of co2 in our natural environment, like rotting vegetation. So mosquitoes are looking for patterns of CO2 that resemble breathing patterns. Also, CO2 is more of a long-range honing factor, not short range. If mosquitoes were only honing in on CO2, they would all fly straight towards our mouths. But they don't. Once they get in close range of their target, they start looking for other odors that indicate a potential meal. If you don't believe me, go sit really still outside when there are a bunch of mosquitoes, and count how many fly directly into your mouth versus how many land on your skin. That's about how many mosquitoes this trap will get. And even some of those will find their way back out, so this idea is extremely limited in its practical value.

    • @HeyChickens
      @HeyChickens Před rokem +3

      @@alno1 I have noticed that certain odors attract lots of mosquitoes to a general area over time, but not all of the mosquitoes end up quickly honing in on the precise source of the odor. A lot of mosquitoes will spend several minutes dancing around, landing for a second, then taking off again, etc. So I think in order for any mosquito-killing apparatus to be extremely effective, it needs to be able to kill a whole swath of them at once. And it needs to be aggressive, not waiting for the mosquitoes to land or crawl into just the right spot. Imagine if we took a bunch of dirty laundry with all of our human smells on it, and stuck it right in front of a huge electrified wire mesh that was designed to instantly kill mosquitoes. Then on the opposite side of the electric zapper grid there would be a powerful fan that would kick on every 5-10 minutes for about 10 seconds each time. So while the fan is off the mosquitoes will all start congregating around the dirty laudry, trying to hone in on the source of the smell. Then after a good number of them have gathered around it, the fan will kick on and blow them all into the zapper grid. An even better idea would be to put two zapper grids onto an axis that makes them orbit around the dirty laundry (or whatever the best attractant turns out to be). The grids would be activated every few minutes and rotated at high speed around the center, killing all the flying mosquitoes that are hovering near the dirty laundry.

      So I think when we exercise our body generates more co2 and raise temp. That was attracted by mosquito that evening..so they started attacking furiously.. after some time our body relaxed so they also went chill... No more biting after 20-30mins..
