    If you live in a expensive neighborhood you have to use Starbucks, the mosquitoes are quite snobbish

    Use your used coffee . keep it on the filter and dry it out . than just lite those up . no waste

    This works!!!! I put some coffee on top of a napkin placed inside citronella candle , lit all 4 corners of the napkin and turned my ceiling fan on and nothing flew in my area!!!! I live in Houston, TX where mosquitoes , wasps and lizards are merciless… I was even having wasps build houses on my patio!!! Not one flew in all night long!!!!! Genius idea!!!!

    We tried this yesterday. I used ceramic bowls. I couldn’t get my paper towels to catch fire so I used a little lighter fluid I laid the coffee grounds on top and it lasted about an hour or so. We didn’t get bit by a single mosquito all day! And the flies disappeared! Thank you for this diy.

      I'm going to try this because I'm always getting bit by mosquitoes on my balcony and it's driving me nuts!! I wonder if this would work in a candle that's empty, and putting the coffee grinds in the bottom, and lighting a paper on each side. Small but hopefully effective. I'll try both and see what happens!🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼

    I twist up my used coffee filters and set them where they'll dry out so the wet grounds dont mold. I burn a couple when im outside, working in the garage at night or having a bonfire. It works surprisingly well.

      @@samanthameinhardt884 I use 2 or 3 at once because it smokes for a long time. The mosquitos stay away from my whole patio area. When I use it in the garage they won't come in even if I have the light on.

    I put all of my used coffee out in the yard including the filter. I let the sun dry the filter then rub filter together. I have this done once a week and I place all used filters into a container which I keep by my coffee pot so I always recycle my coffee. Great in the soil. No mosquitos or gnats. No ants getting into house either.

      @@TearDrop455 I do not re-use coffee filters. it is easier to remove the coffee grounds from them when they dry. the coffee grounds have kept moisture from dew in the grounds. they have kept all ants from entering my home and my grass has actually grown thicker since giving coffee grounds to bare areas.

    Tried it, really as puts off lots of smoke, I used about half what he used about 3-4 Tbs, mine lasted little over hour. PS 3 people, didn't get a bite, pretty strong smell though

    Sounds and looks like it will absolutely work, thanks a ton! ( By the way, I put ground coffee powder in a Malai Kulfi matka i.e. small mud-pot and put a small agarbatti piece (incense stick) in the centre and lighted it. It works! By the way, the smell of coffee repels lizards too!

    I can see how this works because coffee ☕️ resets your sense of smell. I heard people use that to confusing sniffing dogs. Also when you go to the mall and smell perfume or cologne, they keep a can of coffee ☕️ for you to smell between fragrances.

    In New Zealand we use the hard wood of a native Puriri tree. You have it machine into 100 x 50 x 300mm.
    Then you cut the 300 into two 150mm lengths (6 inches) you then put the mosquito on one block and hit it hard with the other- works every time!

    Living in Florida where the mosquito is our State bird, I'm definitely going to try this.
    The chemical sprays (IMO) are not healthy and I'd much rather have the coffee aroma wafting around.

    theres also good electric ones for indoors anything that has a strong scent works and a one thats for your self and it doesnt smell like deet or jungle formula is called( bug sooth ) also good for insect bites too, and cinnamon is a good one also

    When I was little, before we had screens on our windows, my Dad would get a pile of dried cow manure in a shovel, light it on fire... (it makes a smoldering fire producing lots of smoke); Then he would walk through the house at bedtime with the smoking manure to drive away the mosquitoes. I’m sure it must have lasted at least 10 minutes! Lol

    If you have acess to a cow pasture pick up the dried pattys ,place them in a clay tlower pot amd use a squirt of lighter fluid and light. when smoldering place them around the patio or campsite. 5 - 8 will heep the little pests away.

    I wonder if dried used coffee grounds would work. Coffee is quite an expensive product to be using on mosquitos. Used coffee grounds would be a much better alternative if it works.

    Does this help with a serious mosquito situation or just light normal summer evening with a few here and there? We have a lot of them but would rather try something like this, absolutely avoiding spraying and toxic poisons.

    Can I ask, how long it lasts? You said the coffee burns out after an H orso, but you then have to again put fresh one and burn? Or will this last the day?

    For the Love for GOD !!! We DO NOT use Lavazza coffee for that ,that is such an Great coffee to let it burn. Get some Maxwell House or cheap generic in sale. Yes I use coffee as an insects repellant but only cheap one. 😁😉

    Try using a strong fan, they can't fly in high wind and it's cheaper than coffee

      Ive been saving my grounds for a while. I dry them out before I put them in a jar and I have several large jars now so I will try it with used, dried ground and let you know.

      @@deanasmusic1 I've heard about people using their used coffee grounds in the garden and flower pots. I was going to try that but, I'm afraid my plants would be awake all night...lol

    can I do this for the inside of my house? everytime someone comes in or leaves it's like these little demons come with them n then i start to scratch n just irritated bc i can see them n quickly they disappear. to bite somebody else. i do not like any kind of bugs but if i had to choose i rather choose for them to stay outside. it's like their miniature vampires.
