This works!!!! I put some coffee on top of a napkin placed inside citronella candle , lit all 4 corners of the napkin and turned my ceiling fan on and nothing flew in my area!!!! I live in Houston, TX where mosquitoes , wasps and lizards are merciless… I was even having wasps build houses on my patio!!! Not one flew in all night long!!!!! Genius idea!!!!
We tried this yesterday. I used ceramic bowls. I couldn’t get my paper towels to catch fire so I used a little lighter fluid I laid the coffee grounds on top and it lasted about an hour or so. We didn’t get bit by a single mosquito all day! And the flies disappeared! Thank you for this diy.

I wonder if this would work in a candle that's empty, and putting the coffee grinds in the bottom, and lighting a paper on each side. Small but hopefully effective. I twist up my used coffee filters and set them where they'll dry out so the wet grounds dont mold. I burn a couple when im outside, working in the garage at night or having a bonfire. It works surprisingly well.

I put all of my used coffee out in the yard including the filter. I let the sun dry the filter then rub filter together. I have this done once a week and I place all used filters into a container which I keep by my coffee pot so I always recycle my coffee. Great in the soil. No mosquitos or gnats. No ants getting into house either.
@@TearDrop455 I do not re-use coffee filters. it is easier to remove the coffee grounds from them when they dry. the coffee grounds have kept moisture from dew in the grounds. they have kept all ants from entering my home and my grass has actually grown thicker since giving coffee grounds to bare areas.

In New Zealand we use the hard wood of a native Puriri tree. You have it machine into 100 x 50 x 300mm. Then you cut the 300 into two 150mm lengths (6 inches) you then put the mosquito on one block and hit it hard with the other- works every time!
Reminds me of the century old potato bug killer. Inside the box you would find: Block A & Block B With the instructions: "Place potato bug on block A and strike with block B."

theres also good electric ones for indoors anything that has a strong scent works and a one thats for your self and it doesnt smell like deet or jungle formula is called( bug sooth ) also good for insect bites too, and cinnamon is a good one also

(it makes a smoldering fire producing lots of smoke); Then he would walk through the house at bedtime with the smoking manure to drive away the mosquitoes. I’m sure it must have lasted at least 10 minutes! Lol

If you have acess to a cow pasture pick up the dried pattys ,place them in a clay tlower pot amd use a squirt of lighter fluid and light. when smoldering place them around the patio or campsite. 5 - 8 will heep the little pests away.
