My older cousin has one and one time we went to get groceries and he accidentally lit it and he just closed the wallet immediately in front of the cashier and everyone in the line just looked at us as we left, we both went home laughing

I mean, it's not terribly expensive, but as a cheap, destitute college student who has to save up to study abroad next semester yet is also a pyromaniac, this would be at the same time the best thing ever and yet is way out of my price range.

I got mine yesterday and I can't stop playing with it. Looking forward to freaking out some cashiers! My only complaint is it won't always ignite on the first strike. Sometimes it takes four or five to work.

I agree that this is the best fire wallet out there. Regardless of that fact, you will constantly be refilling it and smelling like lighter fluid because of the evaporation.

I saw a magician use one of these. I smelled lighter fluid. I knew there had to be a way he did it, but I didn't know how. I think i understand it now, it's like a Zippo, where opening the sealed part, also spins the flint, which sparks and ignites the wick which is wicking the lighter fluid. It didn't matter that I knew it involved lighter fluid, because the mystery of how it was done, wasn't solved (just light sleight of hand, you know they did sleight of hand, but you can't figure out how.). Pretty cool. However, I don't need to play with fire. Accidents with fire, are never fun.
(Okay, I'll partially disclose what I'm talking about. It had NOTHING to do with a Fire Wallet. This was me and some friends starting very very very tiny things on fire, then instantly putting them out. I had an major accident with fire when I was younger. I also know other people who had dangerous accidents with fire. Just because your intentions are innocent and appear to be safe, if you overlook a detail, you could be doing something VERY dangerous, such as, playing with fire in an area that is very dry and surrounded by flammable material. I frantically tried to put it out, but I couldn't. I was so embarrassed and terrified that I ran away instead of seeking help. Luckily someone saw it and called the fire department and it was extinguished and I came back and admitted and explained what happened and I paid for fixing the damages, but if it had gone unnoticed, there was a pressurized natural gas tank nearby that could have caused an explosion and lead to damage, possibly even a house burning down, which I could NOT have afforded. So, maybe if you have a Fire Wallet, you should also carry a bottle of water. It's something you can drink, and it works as a backup to instantly stop any small starting of a fire that leaves the fire wallet, before giving it a chance to get out of control. Again, this has nothing to do with the Fire Wallet. My friends and I were purposely lighting things on fire, while the fire wallet does not purposefully light things on fire (other than the fire wallet). )
Be Safe, isolate fire from other flammable items so that they are NOT are physically connected over large areas. If you make a campfire, clear all leaves/sticks/etc around the campfire and have water around. If you insist on playing with fire, treat it like fireworks and do it in the middle of a vacant road or a vacant parking lot, that way the burning material would have to fly away or roll away in order to reach something else flammable. Also, be careful about holding things that are on fire. I have a scar because i was playing with melting plastic and some dripped on my hand. Yeah.... again.... be careful. Always have a plan of how to put a fire out, before making a fire.
I have one. It's a great opener indeed.

Watching this made me want to break out my old fire wallet again. I got it off Penguin Magic. I haven't looked at the Scam School wallet but I imagine it's pretty much the same thing. Mine also is metal and has a spring closure.

As great as this wallet might be, you didn’t really show of the other compartments/features to make this a purchase for me. Yeah cool it can make fire, but can it hold all the same things my current wallet can hold?

I ordered one. I got it a few months ago. About 2-4. If I’m estimating. The “leather” was already pretty ripped up when I got it. And I used it for a while and it’s only gotten worse. There’s Tears all over the damn thing.
I'm a HUGE fan of Jim Pace's Inviso Torch because it can be used in so many different situations but at the same time, you have to be a bit of a pyromaniac to want to spend that kind of money just to risk catching on fire..heh.

I had a fire wallet 20 years ago. As far as props go it's a fun one to have. Lighting a cigarette off of one is funny. Plus you always have it on you so it's always available. But it got old really fast. Also that isn't a trick cops think is funny.
But if you are broke and want one it a prop you can easily make. Please give Brushwood money and get a quality one if you are really interested. But you can make one for a few dollars if you really want one and have little money.
