Haha! Shoulda went with the straw. I did that on one of my first dates with this girl. She thought it was cool so I taught her how to do it. Our four year anniversary is in a couple months.

I rub my eye red to act like there is something in it, and keep asking the person I'm trying to fool the most if I have something in my eye. This of course attracts attention from the others. Then in dramatic fashion, take the fork and say " It hurts so bad i want to take this fork" and then shove it into the creamer. A little setup can make a little trick seem much bigger. love it!

The rubber band and ring one , you could also blow on the ring to make it go up and when you are out of breath the ring will start to descend and then you blow again to make it go up . That's cool too.
I love the Mac King "Fork in the Eye" routine. I'm so glad you included that into this video. My take on it is, because I'm usually at a diner late at night with friends, I'd act like I'm dozing off while fidgeting with the fork then SLOWLY fall onto the fork with the creamer in hand. First time I did that, my friends freaked out and I couldn't contain my laughter.

Story Time, was at a job interview today and another dude sitting next to me pulls out a deck of cards and starts flourishing and colour changing. I was like a child watching and had an instant bond with this complete stranger. Magic is a wonderful thing to have in one's life.

Love these tricks! One note: Triboelectricity does not rely on friction applied despite dictionary definition. So applying pressure to the straw really adds benefit to flattening the tube to prevent rolling, otherwise light touch charges the straw just as strongly.

hey guys, if you want to do science friction but your straw doesnt have a paper wrapping on it, grab a straw out of someone's drink( after asking of course ). pinch one end and wrap a napkin around the straw. then pull the straw through the napkin 'cleaning' it. just tries it and it works!

I like all of them, but I think the straw one is my favorite because you could just be fiddling with them ( like the fork) and then while pretending to be bored with whatever is going on start messing with the straws and then people will begin to notice something odd is happening.
