I don’t think it’s the gun that’s broken necessarily. It’s more the movement of players and closing gaps. The gun just preforms the best in its intended range. Same with high impact pulse rifles being the kings of range, precision autos destroying 720smgs in the mid range. Sidearms up close make it to where you can’t even compete against them. Idk what the solution is but at the moment, I see a lot of variety within games. It’s all about who’s hands the gun is in really. Aggressive players will choose fusions, smgs, shotguns, sidearms. Or it’s map dependent. So many different things go into how well a gun is going to preform. Even if it has the top stats across the board, it takes some planing and thought into applying that gun
I have a similar Immortal dilemma as you do; all my fav primaries are in the kinetic slot, so by default my fav smg is the Ikelos. (I don't consider smgs primaries, more like a shotty replacement xD)
I have this exact roll but with hammer forged instead of full bore. I’ve been holding onto it since last season cause I couldn’t get a better rangefinder roll. Low and behold - it’s now a god roll! Coping pays off sometimes. 😅

The roll i got is full bore ric rounds rangefinder target look and range mw it even comes with high cal rounds

Best I’ve got so far is surplus target with ricochet and small bore, sadly a reload mastwork
I got a max range dsr/kill clip and i love it

Even if you remove target lock it still gets kill clip, which gives it a .5 something ttk
I managed a max range keep-away kc knowing it would outlast the RF nerf. 🙏
Perpetual Motion and Target lock produces a lot of yellow numbers 😉

Got a surplus target lock ricochet corkscrew + range masterwork after a few hours. Wont get better than that imo

I feel like Bungie’s new crucible weapon is their way of trying to shift the meta. Just power creep immortal but it didn’t work because immortal still has a faster ttk and is adept
Anytime I get good perk combinations its a reload mw. Drives me crazy.
I have an extended barrel, ricochet, surplus, target lock with range masterwork. I honestly fuck with surplus cause it gives me the handling and stability I like and it just works. I’m still at 75 range which is plenty and the gun just feels fantastic. Idk what it is about the 600rpm subs but I can’t get down with them
But keep away goes away when your near enemies, and if your fighting with an smg generally your usually within its 15 meteres to stop keep away

The way to nurf it is make target lock reduce aim assist and stability

@letsgog8trs793 yep extra damage for less aa and stability and to get it in a stable way you would need to sclacrifice some range to gain stability
