- Learn how to make these Jell-o pinwheels! Another stupid easy 'recipe' with only 3 ingredients. Super easy, quick to make and the kids will love them! You can use any flavor of Jell-O to make these.
What you'll need:
1 (3oz) pkg Jell-O gelatin
1/2 cup water
1-1/2 cup mini marshmallows (I used and recommend 1 cup loosely packed)
Barely spray an 8"x8" or 9"x9" baking pan with non stick spray. Using a paper towel, spread oil around and leave just a thin film of oil on the pan. Set aside.
In a large bowl, combine Jell-O and water. Microwave on high for 1 minute. Using a whisk, stir to combine until all gelatin is dissolved. Add in mini marshmallows and microwave on high for 20-40 seconds, just until marshmallows begin to puff. You don't want to melt them. Whisk until marshmallows are dissolved into the Jell-O. Quickly pour into prepared baking pan and refrigerate 45 minutes to 1 hour.
When throughly chilled, roll up Jell-O sheet in the pan and put your log onto a cutting board. Using monofilament or unflavored dental floss, cut into 1" slices like you would cinnamon rolls. Place onto a plate and keep refrigerated until serving. Makes 8-9 1" slices. Enjoy!
I got this recipe and idea from Joy of Jello here: www.joyofjello.com/?p=1085

If you read the description, you would see the recipe called for one and a half cups. If you were watching the video, there is even an annotation stating that it was one and a half cups and that I misspoke. Forgive me for not being perfect.

You're very welcome. I would try the 'instant' Jello first and see how that turns out before trying the regular Jello. Hope all goes well!

I also liked mosogourmet video but congratulations because I think that yours is explained in a better way so thanks for making this video!
Thanks for sharing. This is good idea for Christmas and need to make with different flavor like red, green, and yellow to make it colorful Jello-O Pinwheels.
Glad you enjoyed! I'm addicted to Jolly Rancher Watermelon jello after being told about it by someone in the comments of my watermelon cake video. LOVE the stuff!

I love how you clean out the glass bowl!!
You're very welcome! I hope they turn out well for you!
I'm about 70 years past being a kid but these pinwheels look delish and you can bet that I'm going to give them a whirl - so to speak. I'm sure my grandkid will like them and maybe my kids.
I've made this with many other flavors and it's so easy and so good. Ahh such a wonderful snack lol

OMG FINALLY!!! Someone who actually scrapes all of it out of the bowl it makes me mad when all the other recipe channels leaves all that goodness in the bowl i thought i was the crazy one!!
These are definitely a kids favorite!
Looks gorgeous and easy! Thank you!
Looks great, I made these tonight with grape jello and turned out perfect.
Auguste Escoffier would have LOVED this !
Too much fun and a neatly done vid (and you have such a professional voice, sir !)
This is such a genius idea!!
I have to admit i would have never have thought of using mono-filament to cut rolls or pinwheels that's really cool
These look so fun!
Turned out great, Thanks!
You can although when I tried it, the jello liked to stick to the knife and it was difficult to cut without tearing it.
So cute and looks yummy too!!
Cutting with a plastic knife dipped in water and mostly wiped off worked really well for me when I cut them. Strawberry was delicious :) Thanks for the great recipe my daughter was amazed at the separation :)
It does it on it's own. If it's staying mixed, it's because the marshmallows got too hot. You only need to barely heat them to get them to dissolve and only after dissolving the gelatin.
They look so cute!
I don't know. You'll have to put everything into a pan on the stove and whisk while it's coming up to heat until the marshmallows start to dissolve and then take it off heat and go from there. How long exactly is anyone's guess.
These are so cool!
Love this idea!
Looks yummy. Imma try making it.
That looks so good I am going to make the on the week end. I will post the results to you. Thanks for the video
Looks amazing.
what a wonderful idea, thank you for that and that was 3 ingredients, you are awesome
Looks really good!!!
Loved the cutting tecnique! The end result is super clean (:
Hey!! This is soo cool!! :D: ) I was looking for this recipe for a very long time. Thanks for uploading :) !!!!
Wow super cool I've never seen anything like this before I just subscribed
great idea. I'm going to try this with me nephews
I'm glad someone else remembers that taste! It's not disgusting but it's not exactly something I want a dessert to taste like.
l've never liked jelly, even as a kid but these would be super cool for parties..thanks for sharing :)
I decided to try to follow these directions using sugar free jello and marshmallow fluff and it came out great. It doesnt stick as well but still rolled up fairly easily. I just did this three times. Even though the sugar free jello has less in it I still followed the same directions as on here. Heating up the marshmallow fluff does make it dissolve into the jello. The only other difference was that even though you do end up with the two layers seperated, the jello is cloudier. tastes great.
Glad you enjoyed!!
More than anything, it's the orange flavor with the vanilla in the marshmallows that contributes to the baby aspirin taste. The first batch was made with Jell-O brand and it tasted the same. And yeah, you can make and store these in any container you wish.
Made the jelly mallows. Was fun and it worked.
Kids definitely go bonkers over these!
That's awesome! Thank you for sharing.
very nice, you did a good job
Glad you enjoyed!
I have to make this ! it is awesome!
OMGosh! When I first saw the pic of the Pinwheels, I thought to myself "this is going to be a fiddly recipe" but it's so easy! Another beauty for the summer (which it is down here in Sydney! Thanks so much!!
I made it and it tastes amazing
this is the best idea EVER
wow sooooo cool thanks for the recipeeee
So cool!!!! I wish I could do that!!
It's like five in the morning and I'm watching Jell-O pinwheels.. I think it's time for bed now..
You can replace up to half of the water with alcohol if desired. No more than half of the liquid volume or else it won't set up right.
I made the strawberry one and it wuz delictious thanks for the recipe! :D
i did it with green apple jolly rancher jello and because there was only one cup of water in it the flavor was SO strong,it was one of the best deserts i have ever tasted
thanks for all of the great ideas! Using a toothpick for dipping is genius! I'll let you know how they turn out. Have a great Sunday, too :)
For the recipe although since you call it jelly you probably aren't in the US so not sure how it will work out for the gelatin you have access to. Just make sure the gelatin is dissolved and then plop in the marshmallows and then microwave to soften them enough to melt into the gelatin. Just adding them to the hot gelatin is not enough to melt them all the way.
I'm going to make these for Thanksgiving! This is so cool, and easy. I'm sure my neices and I would have fun making these! :)
ive tried this it was sensational i loved it! amaz
Great job !
My kids love this clip so they made it in Thai version.
Thanks for good clip.
I like the way you cut the pin-wheels :)
thanks for nice recipe!
Here in the US, our Jello is pre-sweetened with the sugar already in it. I'm not sure what kind of Jello you have in Germany but you should use pre-sweetened if you can find it. It certainly won't be as sweet as what we have in the US but it should be sufficient for this.
No need to zap the marshmallows. For the chocolate, zap a couple tablespoons of cream or half and half for 30 seconds or so until it's hot and stir in 1/2 cup of chocolate chips until they're melted. You can use semi-sweet although if you have dark, that would be delightful! I think it would be easiest if you just put a toothpick into the marshmallow and dip that and just place it on the nilla wafer. If you're feeling it, you could dip the nilla wafer too but not really necessary.
so good ,look awesome
To dissolve the Jello, yes. However thee is not enough residual heat in that to melt the marshmallows which is why you need to leave it on heat.
i made these with the strawberry and they are perfect! thank you so so much for sharing! :3
Thank u. this is so beautiful
I DO remember 1-2-3 Jell-O! There are copycat recipes online using jello and cool-whip but many say it only separates into 2 layers. Might have to try it out using dream-whip and see if I can get it to separate into 3 layers....
Mine is sitting in the fridge now :D I'm super excited, I'm making lime
Cool cant wait to try this
Good vid I’m so going to the store tonight and doing this
cute idea for my nieces and nephew! just subscribed!!
Great recipe! Thanks for sharing! You seem like a really nice guy
Muchas gracias, me encanto su receta. un abrazo desde Perù.
Good Job! I Tried To Make One! And.. I Loved It :)) Thank You So Much. :)
Yes, using vodka. Using only 2 Tbsp of vodka (25% alcohol) they were soft but still held their shape. Barely. Trying to roll them was a nightmare. The marshmallows don't react with the alcohol, it's the gelatin that you have to watch out for. Jello shots is one thing since you have a container to keep them in, these you don't so you need to retain nearly all of the gelling properties of the gelatin. Go ahead and try it for yourself using your own guestimeasurements and get yourself a spoon.
That is a really cool recipe! Hugs!
Looks lush, totally trying this :D
Hello! Thank you for sharing that video.. I have tried 2 flavours so far (mango&lemonade). Both were absolutely delicious!
Strawberry is definitely better than orange, that's for sure! Glad you enjoyed!
