Hammer time! Released in 1998 in Japan alone, "Wrecking Crew '98" was one of the last cartridge releases for the Super Famicom, included both the original Famicom "Wrecking Crew" and the all new "Wrecking Crew '98", the new game actually stands apart from the original, offering puzzle battling with platform elements instead of the original 100 puzzle rooms. It is an awesome game featuring heavy text cut scenes that now thanks tot he efforts of ShadowOne333 and his crew have now been fully translated to English, making this an even more appetizing import title to add to your SNES collection. Enjoy!

I can’t believe Spike is gonna be in the Mario movie
do u remember this came.. im only here looking for it for the same reason i never heard of this game at all!.. 🤔
Mmm
"Yeah, IT'S A ME!"
Never played this but it looks super cute. The pixel art is so charming.
The premise of perfectly good, harmonious living being threatened by profit-driven urban sprawl is honestly based as hell.
"Secret base"!? You built a _high rise_ next to _Mario's house!_
I can't believe they were still making SNES games as far back as 1998.
I like how the original is included. Since this new version is some weird vs puzzle game..
I like the chose of Yoshi's Island art style for the game.
It's on switch now!
I didnt know this existed!
Agreed! Before this was uploaded on CZcams, most gamers didn't known there was the remake of Wrecking Crew on the Super NES, which was released in 1998.
I'm kind of fascinated - alongside Mario Golf from around the same time, this game is one of very few depictions of human extras in the Mario artstyle, by Nintendo themselves.
Are those voicelines by Charles Martinet? Never thought that I would ever hear him on SNES
By this year Charles Martinet was already voicing Mario so We can assume that it is indeed him, but he is uncredited.
He also did voice work in Super Punch Out 😁
what voice lines? i don’t hear mario talk anywhere
would thought he started in N64 days
@@syfodias-jedimaster he did, the game however released when the N64 was already out
Pretty sure Mario's Hat is just a Mettall hat but with an M painted on it
Damn, I just heard about a sequel to Wrecking Crew and it's a Tetris clone. Not that it looks bad, but I wished they kept the original game-play of the first one.
Puzzle game with rectangular playing arena/=/a tetris clone
Games with blocks that fall to clear lines of other blocks is a Tetris clone in my book. Games like Puyo Puyo, Bejeweled, Candy Crush Saga and this are...maybe not Tetris clones, but definitlyTetris-like games.
Tetris & Dr Mario
The Dads of the Puzzle games
Not really. Tetris and dr Mario you put down blocks that you hold and place them the clear a line or match the Same color
This game is also basically Tetris, dr mario, mr robotnicks mean bean machine, and wrecking crew (obviously) rolled into one.
Now it's gonna be on the Switch!
I really like this game and the original from NES. Sadly, this 98 version was exclusive for Super Famicom. Now this game is on Nintendo Switch Online service, but it was not translated to English, though.
It's now outside of Japan on NSO!
man i aint never heard of this, geez
So much great stuff was left exclusive to Japan.... even nowdays.
i think it came out for NES is what i read.. never heard of it either
A SNES game from 1998? Never thought I I'd say that.
This wasn't even the last Super Famicom release either which shows just hoe popular the console was over there.
Same with NES, Wario's Woods was released on both the NES and SNES in the first quarter of the '90s
Wait until you hear about Fire Emblem: Thracia 776
@@pmoyer100 that came out in 1999
@@HunterCarrell Yes, that's the point. It came out even later than Wrecking Crew '98.
1998 is not an early year for the SNES. The system came out in 1991.
It was recently revealed via interview during episode 476 of "Bertcast" that actor and comedian Sebastian Maniscalco will be playing a role in the Super Mario Bros. animated movie, specifically "Spike" who he describes as "their [the brothers] boss". Some people will probably immediately think of the little green enemies, but given the context of this description and the history of Mario, it sounds like he's going to play Foreman Spike from Wrecking Crew.
That's... a surprisingly deep cut for the Mario movie to make, considering how obscure Wrecking Crew is nowadays. Hopefully this means Foreman Spike will be in more things. (and that he'll have a beard and doesn't look like he did in Wrecking Crew '98, which is basically just a buff Waluigi... Not that I'm ragging on this game, it's pretty sweet, I just really dislike Foreman Spike's design in it)
had never heard of spike till i seen the wiki for the movie
Spike shaved his beard and left his mustache.
Huh, and I thought I knew about every Mario game…
There was a SNES version of this too??? With both original and NES versions in same cartridge???
Bah, Mario has never done a single thing to deserve a vacation!
Wrecking Crew '98 (1998 - SNES)
There's some Mario games that I never heard of
You haven't even used the levers to rotate the walls of each floor, right? .-.
Mario maker origins 😂
This is the last and final SNES game that was released in 1998 as week as it is called Wrecking Crew 98 (1998.) The first handheld that it features the voice actors is the Game Boy Advance and the first home console that features the voice actors is the n64 because if the SNES might have featured the voice actors, well then it features the voice actors in Super Mario 64back in 1996. Lots of SNES games were released in 1996 such as Super Mario RPG: Legend Of The Seven Stars. Though this game is well the same sounding as it is as the sounding of the SNES game even though it sounded like Super Mario World back in 1990.
Killer instinct
Looks like warios wood
This game reminds me of Wario Woods.. looks interesting.
ShadowOne333 = Mexican pride with well english knowledge.
SDスマッシュレッキングクルー99

This was pretty late in the SNES's life cycle. Was this why it wasn't localized?
It was not released as s standard cartridge, it was instead part of the Japan-only Nintendo Power rewritable cartridge kiosks. Nintendo ended SNES sales in Europe in America in 1997, this was released in 1998 when the Nintendo 64 was already out and about. It never stood a chance at localization.
koopa troopa is so hard to beat
That this event is not supposed to happen in Brooklyn? 😥
Pretty sure all games supposed to be Brooklyn have been retconned to New Donk City.
nes donkey kong arcade mario bros arcade and wrecking crew are games based on mario's life in new york
does the trans work on snes9x? i got v 1.54 and i had two different roms that both black screen trying to play story mode of the game, one didnt get to the map screen and the other crashed after i was about to do level 1.
Try bsnes. Of it still not working, its most certainly the wrong ROM you are patching.
I honestly prefer the original
fax. I really wish it was action oriented like the first game but it was made in the 90s so i guess it had to be a tetris clone.
@@deleteable. what does this has to do with tetris
Why do you lose 2 times and get a game over screen
9:54
12:56
can you upload this rom already patched? not working for me and the crcs match. Garbled on the 98 version of the game and then goes to black screen
I am unable to do so. Sounds to me like you have a bad dump of the rem despite the CRC matching (which is odd). Which emulator are you using? I recommend either bsnes+ or the latest v.155 of snes9x. Are you soft patching? If you patched the rom already make sure the IPS file is not on the same directoy, some emulators will try to automatically patch a ips file that has the same name as the room and that could explain that behavior.
ShiryuGL retroarch and snes9x
They didn't name it Super Wrecking Crew? Also this uses Yoshi's Island's Engine?
Unsure about the engine. If they ever released this in the west I'm sure that is what they would call it.
HOW DARE YOU WIN KOOPA 😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡
This game is just ??????
the last nintendo released snes game?
Nope. That would be 'Metal Slader Glory' released in November 29, 2000. I hope someone will eventually translate it.
Technically its star fox 2
Last game
Estaba mejor el primer wrecking crew
Is this a BS game or is it a cart on it’s own
It was at first a Nintendo Power cartridge download (a game distributed on kiosks where you could take blank cartridges to 'download' games into it) but it was later released as a proper Super Famicom complete retail cartridge. Not a BS game.
Thx
Zzz 💤 I wish I would’ve known you
teris be
This is terrible. Well the gameplay is decent but its a total insult to the people that enjoyed the original.
well no doubt that is why they packaged the original game with it, so you can still enjoy the game, what i wanna know is if the Sram would save your edited levels in the original game.
I know right? It completely diverted my expectations
Why are people so mad... The game is fun
This game isn't real and not made by Nintendo, i only like the real Nintendo brand.
... I'm gonna give you some time to educate yourself on this game and will wait for you to retract your comment.
