  • According to sources from HYBE, New Jeans creator Min Hee-jin wanted absolute power to terminate exclusive artist contracts at her sub-label ADOR. HYBE not only said no, it uncovered evidence that the request was part of a larger plot to steal New Jeans and run off with $200 million of HYBE's money. In essence, Ms. Min is accused of planning a corporate kidnapping of the company's #1 K-pop girl group while also pocketing the ransom money. OMG.

MJH wants NJ to be her personal enslaved cash cows. She is a middle aged mother to no one, thinking only of a quick exorbitant payout while being willing to damage anyone who she thinks is in her way. She is playing the victim with textbook propaganda skills that some find clever but to clear thinkers, she is a disingenuous, manipulative, evasive, hypocritical, self absorbed, aggressive & delusional, Wolf Warrior Boss. She got caught committing insubordination, spying, leaking personal and medical info about Hybe's other groups members and their families because, instead of viewing them as part of the Hybe family, she saw them as competition only. She couldn't share the winnings, she wanted to be the only winner and did not care if she was a shark creating blood in the water, thereby ruining others debuts and comebacks. I disagree that Hybe ‘should’ve been more clear’. As a business, Hybe did exactly what it SHOULD do and that’s quietly collect their evidence and air their grievances in COURT, not in the court of public opinion. This is how professionals work; they don’t play he said/she said, they don’t respond with emotion and rambling accusations that they know have no basis in law and are false. Hybe is going about this the right way!
Her underhanded, planning and conniving (breach of trust), in business, is akin to treason. And just like the kind of treason we commonly know (of a King/of a nation), it’s a serious CRIME punishable with a jail sentence. But If you’re right about the way the judges work - pleasing the gp - I’m sorry but that’s absolutely atrocious - an absolute injustice to true justice.

Note that last year it was reported that Hybe was considering the offer of SM to buy asubstantial shares enough to have control of the company. Later on, Hybe announced in black and white that it is no longer considering the offer after discovering some internal conflict within SM management. That only shows how careful Hybe in doing business.
Another thing, remember the free concert in Busan by BTS, it ended that the government could not share in the expenses. To keep up their commitment, BTS proceeded with the concert their own costs and their company due to lack of time in getting sponsors. That to me show the integrity of Hybe that even if they are hanging on a cliff, it has deliver what BTS has promised to their Army. Surely that also applies to other Hybe's talents or labels.
As a matter of fact, the labels under Hybe are growing fast. See the success of Zico ft Jenny of BP, it's a big hit! If she did not cause trouble for Hybe, that new girl group Illit would be debuting just fine without even affecting NJ's success. Besides, competition is healthy.

@@anneprendergast7834 If you care so much about the lyrics, then why don't you investigate this issue?
During the press conference, MHJ said that she was threatened with NJ's OMG music video. If you look at the lyrics, OMG is a worship song for the 'Dahn World'. But the MV is criticizing it by portraying those who believe in 'Dahn World' as patients in mental hospitals. Dahn World's symbol, the Bear, appears throughout the MV without any context. When the OMG MV was released, the public criticized MHJ and thought that the the MV was so creepy, since the pure, youthful concept of NJ didn't match the setting of the MV as a mental asylum. People didn't understand why they had to take such a big risk that could ruin the young group's image, and they got confused by all the weird symbolisms and allusions.
But now that this issue was brought to surface, people realize that the MV makes perfect sense if it was about 'Dahn World'. Even the narration at the beginning of the MV by Hanni alludes to a cult ideology. Not just OMG, but there are too many evidences alluding to Dahn World in Ditto, ETA, ASAP, as well as in other groups like lesserafim, TXT, and gfriend.

The current situation about HYBE not protecting BTS against ties to a cult and publicly hitting back at MHJ after press conference is just childish. For the fans that been around since the beginning or before they were global would know that BTS had a lot of rumors and accusations thrown at them for years without BigHit or BTS commenting on them. to this day they handle such accusations in court. Look at the timing right before jin is going to be back from the military. isn't this all too much of a coincidence? HYBE is a company that is challenging to take a global share of the new era entertainment industry by making full use of new technologies.
To achieve this, they need a huge amount of capital, and they are working hard to become a big company, so it is almost pathetic to see Koreans who do not understand their achievements or efforts attacking HYBE and venting their frustrations.
But what's even sadder for me as a Japanese is that Japanese people have the same reaction as Koreans to HYBE, who have overcome historical barriers and chosen Japan as their partner in this great endeavor.
How can we get out of this negative loop?

Not to mention that BigHit, HYBE's sub label is the company that lead South Korea on the global path that they are on. No company is without flaws especially when you are trying to grow into different areas of entertainment on a global scale. HYBE having BTS under one of it's labels has brought so much money into South Korea's economy alone which has trickled into other areas of Korea's economy such as tourism, food, K beauty, K dramas and many more. This all due to BTS and BigHit/HYBE bringing attention to South Korea in a way that no esle has or could. Korean's were in awe three weeks ago when it was announced that HYBE was now a conglomerate and had only only praise and admiration. One press conference made then forget that they all benefit from BTS and HYBE success either directly or indirectly. Most of the BTS members make donations to various organizations, hospitals and schools. All of the global sells from HYBE profits, and all of the other Korean industries that export products globally due to their success is recirculated back into their economy. All citizens South Korea benefit in some way because of HYBE's success.

    It's curious some people are accusing you of being a HYBE agent when there are now several Korean lawyers, Korean business consultants, and Kpop industry analysts all agreeing with your assessment of the situation;
    1. Min Hee Jin (MHJ) was attempting to do something very wrong.
    2. HYBE is facing a highly-destructive situation never before experienced by a Kpop entertainment company. This contagion must be stopped.
The Korean people really need to understand how dangerous MHJ is for their entire country. The Kpop industry has lost 1+ trillion won since the MHJ drama started. Investors are hesitant to keep their money in the industry. This isn't good for the Korean economy. This is a disaster and with every new revelation it is more of a disaster for Korea's entire entertainment sector. This isn't being emotional. It's a fact and it can hurt Korea as a whole.
As a new international fan of Kpop, I thoroughly enjoy the music and am learning so much about Korean culture by events like this MHJ-HYBE dispute. However, I must admit this is a bit too scary to think one CEO could bring down a whole industry simply by going to the public for sympathy. That level of destructive power is frightening. Hybe wants to throw her out and keep NJ. Problem is, it takes time to do it lawfully, as she refuses to go, to hold board meetings etc. Basically for each of their business moves, she lays hurdles, and they have to go to court to still make them happen, like the last one where a judge had to decide that yes indeed ADOR has to have a board meeting, and then later on a general share holder one, which could take weeks.
Another problem, she groomed the girls and especially the parents so well, that they even refuse to pick up the phones and hear the Hybe side of it. So all HYBE can do now is wait for rhe meetings to happen, kick her out, and only then would the parents have to listen to them as under the recent contract, she can't take NJ with her. Unless someoe would break the contract and just pay the fines, which would be pretty big I guess.

You are only listening to what confirms your view. This guy is doing everything BUT present any evidence that might reflect poorly on Hybe. Which is exactly why he's not covering the topic of allegation on Hybe's connection with cult. This is a much more headlining issue right now, and the press conference was more than a week ago.
By the way, Hybe does not have any evidence to substantiate their claims, and yet this guy says that Hybe is acting graciously for not making things as public as MHJ is doing. Let this be clear: it was Hybe that publicized this, not MHJ. It is HYBE that is dragging down their own reputation. I bet none of you guys who are commenting have even watched the full press conference.

It’s all about Intellectual Property law.

There is one case Hybe has and it’s a criminal case. MHJ hasn’t returned the laptop. Said laptop is Hybe property and if MHJ doesn’t return it, then Hybe can file a case of theft against MHJ. Also, people continue to say BSH vs MHJ. BSH stepped down from the CEO position and is now the chairman. The job of negotiation and operational management is carried out by the CEO and that would be Jiwon Park the current CEO. I’m not a fan of BSH as he won’t provide royalties to V for the trademark, for giving such low shares to BTS and allowing Ador to be on the top floor above BTS, but people need to stop making this a BSH issue, he is no longer involved once he stepped down.

Any NJ fans siding with her should go back to her old Interviews and see how much she praises the talent and hard work of the girls, and how much she praises the sjccess as herself.
Because that was the time I became extremely sus with her. And that was like one year earlier. BTS is the biggest group in the world for years now, and I yet have to hear BANG PD say something alike to "that was all me", he even dissmissed he has a formula and it was the boys that made it happen. And that's how you praise your group, you make it about them in the first place.
Hope she gets kicked out, then the girls get a good rest and mental healths professionals on their side from Hybe, so they can heal from that, and start over new.
If they somehow want to terminate and go with her, good luck to them. She's just in it for herself and I can see her discarding them, as she said she likes to start from scratch and is also obsessed with innocence and youth, unfortunately we all age, so do NJ members.
