A helpful comparison, Marie-Anne. I appreciate you showing options for lower budgets and not bowing to certain opinions.
I agree, not having a huge budget shouldn't stop you from looking chic. But I definitely think that you should buy the best quality products that you can buy. And I am a firm believer in taking good care of your clothes so that they last as long as possible.
As someone who sews, I appreciate how Uniqlo uses construction techniques like French seams and flat felled seams on even their regular lines (as opposed to designer collabs), which are more costly to make, but give better results both functionally and aesthetically. The fact that they don’t cut corners where it’s invisible from the outside earns my respect for the brand, and I have been a fan since discovering it in 2019. Even though sometimes their use of synthetic fibers like polyester and acrylic is frustrating, I would not put the brand in the same fast fashion category as H&M or Zara.
Thanks for showing that we can still dress classy on less expensive clothing items! I love fashion but I don’t have a lot of money but I make what I have work! 😊
I love Uniqlo's roll neck cashmere sweaters - thank you Marie-Anne
I have found that Talbots tee shirts work best for my style preferences. Good quality and long-wearing when cared for properly, so the cost-per-wear factor applies here. I keep them for more chic outfits. But when I want a thin layer for under a sweater or shirt in the cooler months, for gardening and yard work, or for messy playtimes with the grandkids, I put on an inexpensive tee from (get ready to clutch your pearls! 😉) the men’s department at a big box retailer. They are roomy and comfortable, and if perspiration marks or “washable” markers’ colours show up, I can deal with the stains without worrying about the end result. Nobody’s going to notice them under a sweater or shirt. When they finally reach the end of their lifespan, I cut them into rags and use them for cleaning those really grubby or greasy things that would ruin an everyday washcloth.
😆 absolutely!@@MarieAnneLecoeur
@@MarieAnneLecoeur I think that it needs to be,👌
'Clutch your pearls', love it!
I buy Talbots T-shirts, they last a long time and they have nicer styles around the hemline and collar. I am just stuck on navy and black. I am trying to get into the white T-shirt.
If you want it to last and be a staple in your wardrobe, $40 isn’t bad. I will say if I’m outside in the summer heat, thinner will feel better. I also don’t want to sweat doing chores in my good white T-shirt. You have to decide what you’ll be wearing it for and what fits your budget. Thanks Marie-Anne! 💕
🤔BUT what isthe wishing secret that prevents a white T shirt from becoming a pearl grey one?😒
@@chimerat8012 washing your whites with whites, not using too much detergent. Using the right detergent. Once in a while use baking soda and vinegar in stead of detergent. Or add some borax to your wash. Not too much. Hope this helps.
Marie-Anne thank you for acknowledging that your viewers have differing budget needs. I purchase higher budget pieces here in the States, but I also find good staple pieces at Walmart. I shop everywhere and that keeps my budget reasonable. Only my shoe collection is consistently higher quality and I think that it all works together! 🌻
As Italian I perfectly agree that shoes Must Be possibly high quality . I think that you can dress low budget but if you have style you can be effortlessy chic, and no one can notice the price of what you are wearing. But at the opposite if you have high quality dress and low quality shoes you will ruin everything.
Totally agreed. With shoes, high quality does only come with higher budget. I only like shoes made with natural material : Leather, canvas etc. Now days so many shoes are made of plastic or man-made material. They look shiny and fancy, but my feet don't breath in them. Also they don't last long. I would shop clothes at Walmart or target, but never for shoes.
@@littlelady7843 Yes. My focus is on quality brands are physically good for my feet and fit with my personal style.
LL Bean and Lands End have great affordable basic pieces. I have several that have lasted for years and still look new.
Marie-Ann I want to tell you a wonderful thing that happened as a result of your inspiring videos as I have watched them (old and new) for several weeks now. I have a weight loss that required me to purchase new pieces. I purged out all pieces in my capsule wardrobe that no longer fit and folded them into piles for the thrift store. That is when I found your channel. I replaced with new pieces that are more updated and re-created a new capsule wardrobe with an eye to good staple pieces and simplicity just as you teach. Marie-Ann my husband volunteers at a church food pantry here in the States. He said that the ladies who come for food would love to have my petite clothing so this week he took them in and they took ALL the clothing. He said the ladies put my scarves on and wore them right away! Your inspiring videos have blessed me and allowed me to bless other women who didn't expect to find new outfits waiting for them while picking up their groceries! This is an example of how your guidance is about far more than clothes!
What a lovely story ☺️. I hope that you love your new wardrobe and that the people that were blessed with your previous one also enjoy it.
@@anaalves3658 Thank you so much! I was thrilled hearing about their response! These days gas prices and thrift store prices can be out of one's reach. I smile every time I think of the ladies going for groceries and leaving with new outfits to lift their spirits!
@@MarieAnneLecoeur Exactly so!
I have several white t-shirts from Uniqlo, some thicker, some shorter, with different kinds of sleeves. My favourite is the shorter, boxier one with so-called “French” sleeves.
Although Uniqlo is owned by a company called Fast Fashion I don’t consider it that. My Uniqlo pieces have been holding up well for going on six years now and I’ve found some quality pieces there. When I took one coat I’d got on sale for $149 CDN to my tailor to get the sleeves shortened he commented on its quality and said he couldn’t get that quality for his store at wholesale prices.
Fast fashion is only so if you buy the lowest quality in a store, wear it a few times and throw it out. I have thrifted pieces from brands like Gap, Joe Fresh (the Canadian Primark), even Forever 21, that I’ve been wearing for over a decade. Denim rarely wears out and some styles never go out of fashion.
Uniqlo makes good quality, modest style clothes with affordable price. I don't consider it a fast fashion brand. When I lived in Shanghai, I used to shop at Uniqlo a lot and the clothes always last for years. Now I live in Houston, there is no Uniqlo store here. I miss it.
Fast fashion and bad quality is not always a direct march. I have clothes from Zara from 15-18 years ago that still are in good condition (arguably, Zara had better quality back then). Smart shopping and good maintenance of clothes are key.
Ty for defending women who can only afford predominantly fast fashion. I love your ethos about caring for ourselves and our clothes whatever their value. ❤
Best U.K. T shirts M and S men’s dept small size! Cheaper as they’re men’s and thicker fabric plus oversized fit if you want that.
I adore your gingham slacks. Gingham fulfills all my needs: French chic, classic, and preppy.
I agree Marie-Anne, many people including myself cannot afford high end items. It is possible to find classic items on fast fashion websites to include in your wardrobe especially items like tees or jeans. I am sure many of your followers appreciate you sharing some more affordable options. ❤
Agree- especially on items like white tees that my get stained and need replacement more frequently.
I like LL Bean white pima T-shirts becausei they offer petite sizes and because the quality seems good to me. And they also offer a variety of different necklines.
Yes! I am also petite and recently purchased a new piece from LL Bean. They run excellent sales each season and quality is great!
@@MarieAnneLecoeur LL Bean, Lands End, and Eddie Bauer are three brands worth checking since they tend to be on par with each other for quality and pricing. Having watched your new and older videos for weeks now, I think you would be most pleased with LL Bean.
I'm here mainly for the lovely French accent (the tips are nice too...)
I like Lands End prima tee 👚 Very soft but cut like the Uniqlo tee, closer to the body and with the cotton weight of the Cos item. However is also not as boxy as LL Bean’s tees.
Good quality cotton.
The best ones have a double fabric front. I have one from several years ago.
Thanks Marie anne. ❤😊 I have a white tshirt that cost me quite a lot but the quality is incredible and I have had it for years and still perfect white and perfect shape. You sometimes have to pay for quality
I get my white t shirts from Rozenbroek, they’re organic bamboo and the cut is gorgeous. It’s nice to support small designers.
The sleeves of the Uniglo T-shirt were the most flattering. Cos had the least flattering sleeves, but they would give better coverage if needed.
Dear Marie-Anne, I hope you keep doing what you are doing because you are amazing and provide options for all budgets. I own a top from H&M purchased over 15 years ago that I still wear. Slow fashion is not about wearing expensive clothes, it's about a lasting wardrobe with good quality basics. I would like to add that Uniqlo also has another t-shirt (U t-shirt) that is thicker than the one you showed. Very affordable. I do not have access to COS so I tried it and I love the quality. I keep my t-shirts for years with good care. 🥰
Some of the best t-shirts I ever bought were from J.C. Penney online, of all places. I was searching for long-sleeved ones, which I wear for three seasons, my arms get so cold. Both the V-neck and crew-neck styles I wanted were available, in white. These still look new ten years later. They never twisted, or got those rumpled edges, which I appreciate. These were about $30 US each. I think the brand is called St. John’s Bay, a house brand. (No brand affiliation).
I used to but that brand. Everything I ever purchased was good quality.
The Uniqlo one suited Marie Anne’s body shape the best. The Cos one’s sleeves stopped at an unflattering point on the arm making it look a tad matronly, but may be the preferred choice for someone wishing to cover their upper arms.
You make such important points about shopping for a good T-shirt--opacity, binding, weight. But the one I appreciated most was showing us a tee that has been worn and washed. That is I am really looking for: the so-called shelf-life of the shirt. How will it hold up after it's been laundered? I would love to see more of that approach, when possible.
The Uniglo is the most flattering on you ...
A very useful video. I think a good white T is the most difficult thing to find. My recent buy is from River Island in the UK . It looks like the Cos one. If you look after cheaper items as well as the expensive ones they will last for years. Thanks Marie-Anne x
I love your comment that “chic is for all budgets.” As someone who has supported herself and wanted to dress fashionably I was unable to afford higher priced options in my 20’s and 30’s. I would study those styles and colors and do my best to replicate them on my much smaller budget. I would have been ecstatic to have had more advice on how to show fast fashion yet look chic. There was one tip that I learned and must share - swapping out cheap looking buttons for nicer ones on suit jackets always elevated an outfit at a fraction of the cost or buying a higher priced jacket. That and of course some tailoring really helped.
Bonjour Susan - swapping buttons is a great way to elevate a jacket 😃 if you are lucky you can pick up vintage buttons online 😃
I'm a huge fan of the fitted v neck tee shirt by Uniqlo. I bought a black one and a white one three summers ago and they have held their shape and look fantastic. The white has stayed white with no yellowing. I think they are super quality for the money and will buy again when these eventually wear out. I wash them in cold water. I treat fast fashion items, if I buy them, like slow fashion and try and get a few years out of them. Being an hourglass shape I love fitted tees. Straight tees, especially with a crew neck, make me feel dumpy and frumpy.
It is admirable to show different options of clothing to suit various budgets. I have the same COS t-shirt and I agree that the fabric is very well made. I like the pants you are wearing.
Always great information Marie-Anne. Thank you!
I really like half sleeve t shirts the sleeves have no bulk and they are wearable over wider temperature range. With a boatbeck it shows with clean chic line
I must say I did not care for Mango tee. I do not put my tee shirts in the dryer after washing I always put them on the dryer rack. They keep their shape a bit longer that way. Thank you for your informative video.
Good comparison! 👍
Thank you. This is a good tip especially since I love white shirts.
Recently bo't a Vera Wang white tee at Kohls , sale price $14.99 ( ! ) , a nice fabric for " dressier " wear . I have White Stag brand white tees from Walmart , so that tells you how old they are , that are still very nice . I do like Talbots - good quality & choices at sale prices , varying styles , fabric weights , sleeve lengths , proportioned for body type , etc. Also , proper care will prolong the quality & extend the cost-per-wear of all tees , even for the less expensive white tees we wear for house/yard/barn , etc.
Thank you for addressing the fast fashion issue. You always encourage us to make use of what we already have. I have a thrift store budget but I do try to look for something that is good quality. Really appreciate your insights. ❤
You are very welcome Ms P x
Thank you. I’ve had very good luck with Uniqlo surprisingly due to the low price point. I believe they are a Japanese as opposed to a Chinese company. That makes me feel better shopping with them. Thanks for the ideas, you are correct not everyone has the same budget, it is good to show options.
💯👍
I am thankful you provide input on a variety of options. Kindest. ❤️🇨🇦❤️
Bonsoir Marie Anne. I think white shirts seem to be an easy buy but I have been surprised with different qualities and price ranges as well as the fit. There are so many subscribers who have a limited budget and personally, I would love to be able to shop purely from sustainable sources but that often means much higher prices. I think that creating a successful channel, it’s good to show a variety of brands and if it is limited to only luxury items, many will unsubscribe as they will find the pieces unattainable for their budget.💖🌸
I totally agree with you. I don't have any sustainable clothing stores near me and I am not a fan of buying online without trying it out first, unless it's to replace something that I have previously owned.
Thanks for this. I went out to Uniqlo and got a white and a black tee-shirt.£14.90 in the UK. Nice substantial material. Very happy with it.thanks.
I like you showing fast fashion items. A few reasons:
1. Style is for everyone. Fashion changes. If i want to try a fashion/trend then i go to fast fashion.
2. Fast fashion does have some quality pieces. With H & M I've ordered 2 linen tshirts. So perfect in summer. I bought them in black and flax. Avoided the trendy colors. They are great for layering or wearing vy themselves. I let other pieces be the pop of color. I see fast fashion as the canvas that allows the paint to pop
3. Fast fashion is affordable for trying a lime green handbag to see if you will even reach for it.
4. I teach preschool. I can wear a $20 white T-shirt and not worry about it getting paint or mud on it .
I've been looking for info on which white Tee to purchase, so many companies sell them. So I'm so happy for this video. I have to buy several white tees because I stain them with food, drinks all the time stains never come out. Thank you Marie-Anne. (I also enjoy hearing the comments).
Very helpful video, thank you. I live in the States and often buy pima cotton tees from LL Bean. I've found them to be good quality and hold their shape (and colors). Adore those trousers!
Thanks, Marie-Anne, this was very helpful. I had to look for a long time to find a white T. I really like the top and pants you're wearing in this video. I could rock the heck out of those :)
Love those trousers Marie-Anne, i have slim legs like you. Yes, white t shirts only look good if they're well-made with a comfortable neckline. Thank you for the demo you looking fab . 👍🧡🌱
Merci, Marie -Anne ❤️
Моя любовь к черному цвету превратилась в аддикцию, пытаюсь приучить себя носить белый и Вы, Мари Анн, мне в этом помогаете
Merci
-)
This is the benefit of buying secondhand: the item has likely been washed a few times, and the sizing is washed out. One gets a better idea of how a garment will wear this way.
I recently had to relegate a favorite shirt to the “wear around the house” tier of my wardrobe. I bought it secondhand 7 years ago and it was finally showing its age.
Thank You Marie-Anne. I'm curious about all the handbags you have on your shelf. Would you mind sharing your collection with us?
I only have three white T-shirts. Two have puff sleeves with embroidery and one has white embroidery on white cotton fabric. Talbots has a nice classic t-shirt, but I prefer the boat neck, the scooped neck curved hem, the split neck, or the v-neck. I tend to buy navy or black T-shirts only. Someday I will try the classic white T-shirt.
You have the most rational response to 'fast fashion' : 'slow style' thankyou
My criticisms are that the Cos shirt had a weird shoulder line and I did not like how it was cut under the arms - not high enough into the pit, making it look as though it needed bust darts. The Uniqlo shirt had a better cut overall, but I agree the neckline was not as flattering. I buy my tees from Talbots or Christopher and Banks. They are a nice thicker weight and have a midline cut which flatters my menopausal (boxier) shape.
Yes to Christopher and Banks! Their petite clothing fits me perfectly!
I loved the trousers you are wearing during this video. Cigarette style pants are so stylish. I hope to see more outfits including them. Thank you for wearing them.
I don't really consider Uniglo fast fashion, since they are a more ethical company than H&M etc. I respect that you show clothing from all economic levels!!
I personally don’t like a tight or close to the neck crew neck….so I would go with Uniqlo. It looks more thoughtfully designed. Its what I see 😎
I love white t-shirts with crew neck, and I usually style them with dark blue jeans Marie Anne
Oh, how I would love to see your channel and 'Crushing Their 80’s - Nanny and the Moose'. Would be so much fun!
Best wishes from Brazil, my dear elegance queen!
🤗
Marie-Anne, have you ever thought of doing a video about being stylish around the barn and while riding? 😃🐴 I am sure there are other riders like myself who could use some fashion tips in that area. I love your videos 🤎
I wear petite size so I can’t buy mango but I haven’t looked for petite in the other two brands. Thanks for showing this.
Thank you for the video! New subscriber-enjoying your content!
Merci Garnet and a Big French Chic Welcome to you 🤗
As always, very helpful. I actually wear my husband's Hanes t shirts! Inexpensive and good quality. They have lasted for many washes
Unless you have wide shoulders and narrow hips, men's t-shirts don't fit a woman's body. I know a woman who can wear men's jackets and shirts, because she's built with wide shoulders and a boxy figure, but I look terrible. I have narrower shoulders and an hourglass figure, so the shoulders hang way off and the lack of shape makes me look 3 sizes bigger.
Another option: About a week ago I found a terrific white crewneck T-shirt from DKNY at Costco for $11.99.
Thanks for the video, Marie-Anne! I check every day if there's a new episode on your channel to watch along my knitting :) Talking about T-shirts (or other garments) - have you tried items from the Rise&Fall? I recently got a few 'basic' cotton t-shirts from them and they seem good quality and price. I'd say better than the same items from Uniqlo, although I haven't washed them as many times yet. As to the 'whiteness' - I've learned they add a blue dye to the fabric to optically enhance the 'whiteness' which then washes off little by little with every wash. Interestingly (if you feel a bit DIY) you can re-whiten them again by adding a drop of a certain blue dye to the rinse cycle of your washing. Haven't tried it myself yet, just sharing, but I feel sad to let go of otherwise good items, especially in current times
I agree with you Marie-Anne about the mango T-shirts. I have the same one in black and it did not age well at all.
That said I am puzzled that you spoke about t-shirts and did not mention a french institution such as petit bateau since they have a collection for adults and they retail at GBP 22. I have had a couple of short sleeve V necks from this brand for now 6 years and they are still in pristine condition !
Nothing says summer like a classic white t shirt!
I would probably go for the Uniqlo shirt, as I am longer waisted, like it a little more fitted, like a little lower neckline, and like the sleeves more on that brand. Bonus that it is less expensive. The transparency/thickness seems like it might be ok, but that would be an in person judgment. And no matter where I purchase items now (whether others consider them fast fashion or not, and I shop up and down the spectrum), I purchase with the intention of wearing them for several years. Not to say that I never make mistakes, but it’s pretty much been working for me, with your tips keeping me on track.
Oh, there I am again in this video. Hey girl. My white t-shirts are thrifted, but they are 2 different styles from Ava ad Viv, Target's plus size line. One is thicker like your Cos and the other is thinner and longer, more like a man's traditional undershirt. Its nice to have different weights for different looks or seasons.
Have you tried Eileen Fisher t-shirts, dear Marie-Anne. They are top quality and last a long time.
The cos T-shirt is the best 🙂
I have own alot of white t shirt easy to match and plus I live in the topical country.
I would probably buy both of the top two. Sometimes you need something lighter in the hot weather.
I really like Next for my white T Shirts. I prefer a scoop or V neck on myself as some plain white T Shirts with a crew neck can look a bit like I'm wearing my husbands.
Thank you. This video was like having a personal shopper at my disposal. In the US we had A show called "what not to wear" with tracy and clinton. How bout some more what not to wear with marriane? Body shape with wrong style. Short torso ect. I discovered by watching that show that for years i was wearing blouses that were to big. The shoulder seam hung down to my elbow. 😅 i had small shoulders. I loved that show. An I also love yours😊
I also loved the original show, from Britain, with Trinny and Susannah.🙂
I miss Stacy and Clinton on What Not to Wear. I learned so much from them.
I love a good white shirt and Zara has options in premium cotton too at €17😊
You are correct about showing items for all budgets, Marie-Anne, but companies like Mango and Zara are gargantuans whose workers sew for pennies in sweatshop conditions. They are also incredibly harmful to the environment. All this info can easily be found online in many areas.
It is possible to find affordable items from smaller businesses; maybe for a little more but isn’t it better to have less items of more quality, and manufactured humanely? And then, of course, second hand shops have great finds.
Fast fashion is only "fast" if you throw it away after one season's use. If you take care of your clothes -- hanging them up, folding them, washing and repairing as needed -- you can keep fast fashion for many years, especially if they're classic pieces. My preference would be the "T" from Uniqlo.
I agree. I have had very inexpensive clothes that I took care of, never drying in the dryer, for example, and they looked new for a long time.
I recently learned that the outlet stores have separate production lines from their retail stores, so the lower prices are for substandard items 😮... now I understand why my Gap/Banana Republic outlet teeshirts are such poor quality. I recently bought teeshirts from Talbots and Lands End, so much better... excellent construction and substantial fabrics, more expensive but so worth it.
How about you also discuss your pants? It’s classic as well. Thank you as always.
I like the first two shirts on you, Marie-Anne. They are both very nice and they have a flattering drape. I look awful in white, actually. 😊
Marie-Anne, what do you think about black jeans? As I haven’t seen your talking about black jeans in your videos. Perhaps they are not your favorite things to wear? I like your videos by the way, thanks a lot for promoting, spreading and sharing your sense of beauty to the world❤
@@MarieAnneLecoeur of course please do! I have many black jeans and I want to see your ideas to wear them! Thanks a lot in advance!
Some people only watch YT to make critical comments out of their sense of inferiority - don’t take them personally, dear Marie-Anne! You know your community loves you! I personally try to avoid fast-fashion because they use inferior fabrics. H&M’s shirts are made of very thin, low-quality cotton, for example, that can’t even be ironed properly, they always look terrible. Fast-fashion brands also use a lot of synthetics and I just can’t wear them. But, I understand that some people, like students, can’t afford more expensive brands. I have budget constraints too, so I just buy fewer, but better, items. My suggestion, if one must shop fast-fashion, is to only choose their natural-fiber items. At least they’re biodegradable, and comfortable and breathable to wear. I also suggest sticking to less-trendy items, classics give more mileage, and to a flattering color palette. Most trends this season are designed to promote those dirt-cheap polyester items, as in the sheer and mesh trends. Brands want us to feel outdated, they push new trends constantly, so that we’ll buy lots. I heard a quote recently that I loved “I can’t afford to buy cheap clothes”, and that’s so true, they just don’t last. (Apologies to quote originator, I can’t remember where I heard it).
It would be helpful to know how all the tees hold up over time as with the Mango one. Thanks for the review.
I will try to give an update in due course Kristine 😃
For me Cos white T-shirt looks better❤
Uniqlo’s not “fast fashion” as a rule. It does partnerships with Marimmekko and other designers…. Denim is consciously washed to reduce water consumption. The quality and durability are actually very good, not throwaway. MUJI is another Japanese brand I like that like Uniqlo has excellent T-shirts and layers in linen and cotton.
Uniqlo: generally their clothes are very good quality. I am still wearing some of their basic pieces that I’ve had for more than 10 years. The company also donates millions of dollars annually to the UN Refugee Agency (UNHCR), provides clothing to refugees and host communities in some 41 countries, and in the U.S. supports a clean-water charity.
I love your cute checkered pants. I love that you are including low end to high end. I have learned over the years that I would rather have quality over quantity for most of my clothes. But I do enjoy a bargain. So a lower priced item like a t-shirt is my choice. My favorite is the long sleeve t-shirt you wore at the start of video. It looks like high end. What is the brand? ❤
Lovely as always, and thanks, but I don't know anyone who can tuck a t-shirt and have it look good.
@A. W. thank you. will check it outl
Thank you for the awesome video. I am very enjoying watching it. What size of Cos t shirt you have? Thanks ❤
It is a European M Jessica
Love your pants, what is it?
Today June 14 COS is having a half price off online including t shirts;;;; and linen. Good luck.
While I am a big big Cos fan ( I have a lot of pieces in my closet from Cos) I am not totally agree about their t shirts. Nice shade of color, nice quality , nice thickness but the neckline doesn’t stay tense, in my experience is corrugated and I don t like the effect on me. Otherwise Uniqlo , another brand that I love so much , has a special line ( Uniqlo U) that is, in my opinion, very high quality (Supima cotton , so silky) and very good neckline, that maintains form day after day and long lasting. I have no t shirts from Mango , a brand that anyway is very funny and globally good taste, so I can not say anything about them. Naturally this is my experience that I shared with you all , but I am basically agree with you dear Marie Anne , sure Cos and Uniqlo are the best
would you be able to compare them after several launderings please, as it’s often only the neck that is on display , so which one keeps a firm rib would be interesting ..
Dear Marie- Anne, I really Like Your style, that s why I watch everything You Show....allthough I never buy the things You recommend....I can t wear white near the face, because I look sick in white t shirt , in a black Turtle neck sweater I look, as If someone should call a priest....and the biggest laugh is the sight of me in a Breton
Shirt!!!!! But I like how You can wear all that!!! And Your tipps for better materials , better quality are very much needed and usefull!!!😊 I Sometimes prefer to look a little wild...or nostalgic....even being over 50! I Don t want to look ,a la Madame ' all the time. But that s just my oppinion.,...and sometimes the ,,Muss Marple Look' is just what I prefere!!!......I am a totally different Body - Type, and need other colours.....but there is so much I appreciate from Your programme. The truth is...Your style looks best for slightly boyish women....small and curvy ones have to find another asthetic......so, Ladies, don t be desperate, If You can t get the ,,MarieAnne Look " exactly right!..... But pick and choose the best, that works for You! And bye the way.....two of the most beautiful french women of all times, Brigitte Bardot, and Catherine Deneuve got a lot larger, while getting older! But Your blog is a great joy to watch, because You put a Lot of heart and truth into it. So I hope to watch more of this for a long time....❤
I bought 2 of the COS t-shirts about 2 months ago (in my never ending quest for the perfect white T!). First impression was exactly as you say - thick, beautiful, perfect neckline and length. Unfortunately, even though I am extremely careful not to get any lotions or makeup on the collar - it appeared stained after the 1st wash! I washed it repeatedly with stain spray, etc. always hanging it dry (per instructions - kind of a pain not to be able to put a t-shirt in the dryer too BTW). But the discoloration would not come out. I actually began to wonder if is is actually 100% cotton as the label states. Anyway, the same thing happened to both so sadly I had to throw them both out. Ouch! Please let us know how it performs for you after a few wearing sand washings. Love, love, love your channel. Thank you so much and all the best to you.
Try ZOUT stain remover
I have a Cos cotton t shirt and never had any problems with staining. It launders lovely. I wash in the machine but hang dry and iron.
Another vote for Land’s End. Eddie Bauer used to have gorgeous tshirts, but now they all are blended with polyester. II got two beautifully soft whit tshirts from the GAP and after two. Washes they were all twisted and shrunk and looked like rags.
This was a great video! For companies can i please ask what size were the t-shirts ? I have a similar physique to you and always struggle to buy the right size😅
I will check and get back to you Ali x
I have a bin of white T's.
Love your pants. Would you share where we can get it?
They look like they are from Sezane. I have the black and white ones-love.
@@lauriegerrard2103 thank you so much. They are beautiful pants.
@@MarieAnneLecoeur thank you very much. Just ordered.
Lovely video as always❤
I do not own a white t-shirt. I’m very pale, white just does not compliment my colouring. I’ve tried…wish I could wear white, but it does not work for me.
I watched your video on how to style a white t-shirt. I feel challenged, and bought a white t-shirt today👏🏻. I will share some photos with you.
what do you think about the tee shirts from Sezanne? Have you ever tried them??
I haven't yet - I will take a look 😘
