    If you want to get fancy install a long zipper and then you can pull or change pillows. My fabric is contructed with pull ties at each end so I can remove the pillow case and wash the fabric.

    Thanks for the tutorial, though I think I might sew the piping onto the rectangle before I make it into a tube.

    #1. Sew piping on while fabric is still laying flat. #2. After closing tube fabric, pin round cap onto tube like pinning a sleeve into an armhole. #3. Closure works better at cap. peace

    ok, here is my question. If I wanted to make this into a cover instead using velcro as a closure instead of a zipper, how would I go about doing that? I don't want the velcro showing so if the diameter length cut material is 19" how much extra do I add?

    • @SailriteDIY
      @SailriteDIY  Před 8 lety +1

      Create a single or double hem about 1" or less on the sides of the rectangle (where the opening is desired). The amount of fabric taken up in the double hem for the sides needs to be added to the overall length of the rectangle. Then sew Velcro over the hem and complete the two circular ends.

      Double hem? Is that folding it twice on the ends where I am sewing the pieces together? I will have my husband read this and have hime explain it to me better. I am more of a hands on kind of person :) thanks for the response.

      That would make a good video. I will add it to my long list of future videos. In the meantime, I think it sounds like a "throw pillow" just rectangular in shape. Try this video but make modifications to size for your application: czcams.com/video/HDwivVg1DNU/video.html

    Misleading, You don't show how to make the pillow, just the cover. Should change your title to cover.
