- I work for a smaller company of about 40 people in Denver Colorado. we do mostly commercial, multi family, and custom residential housing
I did a video about the tools I use about a year ago, and since so much had changed I figured I should do another one.
the only tools not shown are my EMT bender‘s
and FYI the blue thing in my backpack is a scratch awl :)

No doubt! Can you believe this dude is an apprentice at the time this video was made??? Have you ever seen any apprentice with a loadout anywhere even remotely close to this bad ass? I sure haven't.
I truly enjoyed your video, thanks for the insight. I'm getting back into the trade. I did a five year Apprenticeship then I did the military thing. I'll be retired in five years and I need to start hustling again so the money train keeps going. Cant run dry you know. Thanks again.
Nice set up dude. I've had that same Occidental tool pouch for 6 years still going strong no failures, 100% worth the $$$. Just recently switched to a veto mp2. The weight is so much lighter dont think I will go back its saving my back. Best of luck!

The dude is an apprentice at the time of this video! I've never seen any apprentice with a load out like this. I've seen masters that aren't this well equipped save for a few larger items.

I'm shocked he'd loan a tool out, that's the #1 way for them to get lost / broken / jacked up in some way. If he's loaning you tools, you're probably quite the dude yourself.
Nice set up. I’ve got the pack out as well. I’m a plumber, new install mostly. Pretty equally divided between residential and commercial and rough in and finish. I’m dialed in for rough in. Still a mess for finish. Mostly because my companies version of finish plumbing still includes rough in type work. Very frustrating. I duplicating things just make my set up more efficient. Expensive but the functionality of it is undeniable. I also climb trees. No pack out for that yet!! 😆

I have all those tools expect the bandsaw & circular saw. I do have the 1" sds plus rotary hammer because i had to get a 7/8" hole thru almost 2 feet of brick.
Just watched the last video, notice you switched to the same hammer I use too. I was going to suggest that except they're old videos. Now I'm looking for those meters! EDIT - There it is! It's a less expensive meter, but I've never heard anything bad about it. It'll do more or less anything you need a meter to do. I have a T5 in my bag, used to keep a T+ Pro in there. Pros and cons to each - but they're both small enough to stuff in the bag, and gets the vast majority of what I need done. Every now and then I have to go back to the truck for "more meter" but none of the others fit in the bag well.
I want an update, especially test equipment! Klein has an inexpensive insulation tester that I've heard good things about. Beats paying 600 bucks for a Fluke. Wire tracers are good to have, but they're hiiiiighhhh dolla! I haven't found one under close to a grand without a clamp, a little over a grand with one. A less expensive alternative is a toner and probe - Fluke Pro 3000 or 3000 Pro or something? You're not finding underground wires, and its sometimes hard buried in walls - but they do work. Cheap ones suck though, and you have to ... not use them like some guys use them for best results.

Nice setup ! Quick question, I’m in the electrical field myself and i been having a debate in what’s gonna benefit me better , a tool bag or tool belt , what’s more convenient and worth the investment .
Derec Lara depends on the work you do, if you find yourself on a scissor lift of in an electrical room all day a bag is fine. but if you’re required to work on the move (wiring housing, any work off of a ladder, fixing problems, etc.) I think a belt is better. You can use a belt like a bag, but you can’t wear a bag on you
I love the backpack. Then just pocket my tools or if doing something repetitive were i only need a few tools i use the $10 husky 11 or so pocket small velcro bag. Backpack is sooooo nice for those roof jobs
Tool bag, even doing residential you use your pockets more than anything else.
Bruh..it's only a matter of time and patience before you have both. And if you ain't careful you end up stuffing pockets and stay in pants and don't make it back to THEIR home, ie bag/belt.
@@matts5086 You'd be surprised how many guys say the opposite about service work - like use a belt for construction, bag for service. I use a belt for both, but mostly because I'm generally on the move a lot. Especially on service calls. Roping a new house I'd be using a bag near the wire spool, and the belt would have just what I need for what I'm doing - or no bag at all for some parts of that kind of job.
What do you use the circular saw for?
Probably mostly studs for fan boxes that have to be in certain spots and horizontal boxes like in kitchen backsplashes ect ect. That's what I use mine for lol

@@brayan9274 well over 2 grand in milwaukee batteries/charges alone. 1inch sds, m18 hackzall m18 holehog fuel m18 impact fuel fuel m12 impact driver, m18 drill driver, m18 bandsaw, m12 cut out tool, m18 grinder, and m18 multitool. again well over 2 grand easy. my diagnostic tools like laser measure, rotary laser level, fiber optic camera, multimeter and clamp meters WELL WELL WELL over 2 grand (rotary laser level alone was about a grand). all my germen/usa made hand tools are over a grand easy. THAT'S OVER 7 GRAND if you can do the math. *you see nick not all of us are making minimum wage like you and buy crap tools. i spend a lot on my tools. sorry you can't, try getting better at what you do or getting a new career if you can't afford it, but don't talk when you don't know what you're talking about. my dad taught me that when i was 5. your dad should have done the same*
