I HIGHLY recommend that parents check out Elizabeth's foundation worldview curriculum. It's a really good tool to train your kids (and yourself while you are at it) in how to think biblically about things. Since your kids are being exposed to worldly and unbiblical thinking all the time they are very likely to simply absorb it and assimilate it if they aren't given the tools to reason through the issues well. This is where Elizabeth's project comes in. You can have your kids do these classes once a week from home whenever it's convenient for you. I'm not making ANYTHING for telling you this. I think this is just a really needful program for Christian families in modern times. I know life is crazy busy for parents but I think this is one of those things that's worth your time and is really underpriced for the benefit it brings.

what about the first lie.. "If I feel it, it must be true"
The idea of evolution not feeling right should have no bearing on it's trueness.. according to the video anyway.
The irony of Christians talking about the truth lol.
Good day, may one day everyone know the truth is hidden, and anyone who's claimed to know it was after something unrelated.
Evolution may not be 100% complete and true, but it's at least trying to be self-consistent.

@@grimfada "But how does a mind tuned to maximize survival require attaining anything true from our surroundings. For example, escaping a tiger can result from a plethora of false beliefs about tigers and their dangerousness to humans."
First, tuned to maximize survival is only a trend in evolution. It is essentially a random process, but the one's who produce more offspring and live long enough to produce more offspring are more likely to survive and be present in the world. I'll concede that the truth is not exclusively required to survive a tiger attack, but I'll also argue that the truth is more effective in more situations. If we want to survive things that haven't even happened yet we need to seek the truth about it. We are no longer struggling to survive the tiger of today, but the collapse of the future as well.
"If the theory of evolution is produced by a brain not tuned to attain truth but to survive, the theory and any thought whatsoever has nothing to do with truth. Survival is all that matters."
Here again, I would argue that the truth is very beneficial to survival, especially if we have gotten to a place where we don't have to worry much about tigers today, but our threats are abstract visions of the future that may or may not come to pass, the truth is a key part of this survival strategy.
"Self-consistency is not, in the other hand, a measuring stick that does good for you. A murderer intent on killing and willing to take action can self-consistent in their worldview, but still wrong in doing so."
yes, I agree with this 100%, which is why I said "Evolution may not be 100% complete and true, but it's at least trying to be self-consistent."
I didn't say that self-consistency was proof that evolution is true, it's just that being self-inconsistent would disprove it, like the king james bible is disproven as the inerrant word of god by contradicting itself. I don't think evolution is the complete answer, I don't think the complete answer is even necessarily knowable, which is my main point. If someone is telling you know the complete answer, but won't show their work.. I would be very skeptical, but that's just me. I only have a tenuous control over my own mind, I do not seek to try to control other's minds.
"Life just does not come from non-life, an empirical fact."
I don't think this is a proven, empirical fact. It's from a place of bias that you believe this to be true, even though you could not know. I don't know the state of research in this field, but regardless, there is no way to exhaust every possibility to determine it is impossible, especially in the timescale of a lab scientist. Just because life has not sprung from a vat of amino acids over the last few decades in a lab, does not mean it's impossible within the context of the entire cosmos.
Again, I'm not saying life came from non-life as an empirical fact.. I'm saying we don't know.. so, quit knocking on my door and telling me I'll see grandma again if I join this group and give my heart to Jesus, it's kind of sick, really this is how I feel. I wish everyone a good and fruitful life, but I don't know the answers, and I don't claim to.

The number of times I've had to explain what true love is to even pastors and "professional" evangelists just frustrates me. Thank you for covering that. I recently got into a heated argument with a popular Christian band on social media over what love is because of their very public affirmation of homosexuality. To them, letting someone know "they are loved" is more important than actually rebuking them for choosing their homosexual lifestyle over faithfully adhering to God's will, and justified their position by claiming that pretty much every Christian man has a porn addiction so no one can rebuke anyone else. It was so unbiblical.

That last bit is truly a pathetic attack they pulled out their backside. It diverts away from the topic and is irrelevant.
Yes, God loved the world so much he gave his one and only son to die on a cross that whoever believes in him shall not die but receive ever-lasting life, but he also says if you love him you will keep his commands, and that no one is worthy of him unless they forsake everything they hold dear in this world to follow after him and pick up their own cross.
The one who rebukes you openly is your true friend and is better than your enemy who will soothe you with a kiss.
Why? Because a true friend will tell you the truth for your benefit even if it hurts because they truly love you and don’t want you to be deceived. Your enemy wants you to stay in the comfort of your deception that leads to destruction. That don’t care what happens to you. That would love to see you be destroyed or just as miserable as they are!
Lord Jesus we follow after you. Lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil, for yours is the kingdom, the power, and the glory, forever. Amen. ✝️♥️🙏🏻

One time my class had an open discussion about morality in every day life and we started by discussing the definition of "morals". A dictionary was never consulted, it was about what we felt it meant. Even though some people gave conflicting definitions we were collectively told by our teacher we were all correct. The conversation from then on was basically us talking past each other for an hour while the teacher pretended there was deep introspection happening.
This is why it's hard to have conversations with non-believers about basic things like love and justice. How can we have a productive conversation about anything if we don't all agree on what it means?

First: looooove this talk! Second: Psalty was weird but as a kid that grew up with it, the songs stayed with me my whole life. They actually helped with the renewing of my mind. For example: learn to be a servant of all. In the song it gives examples that kids can understand. I looked it back up in the past few years to get an idea of how biblically accurate it was. I was pleasantly surprised. A current cartoon that I'm liking for biblical substance for kids is Owlegories. Anyway, thank you for covering this topic because it's so important!

Even though we taught this to our daughter practically from birth, had her in a good church every week, homeschooled, put her in youth programs, and read the Bible and prayed in our home, she still rejected the faith as soon as she was on her own. The pull of these ideas is very strong, especially to people who want to be subject only to their own authority.

I was this girl, like your daughter, and I came back to Jesus because of what my parents taught me about faith as a child. I rebeled heavily until I realized how unhappy and evil this world actually is. God brought me back into his marvellous light. He’s sovereign. Pray without ceasing. This is what my mother did and I became a prodigal daughter and my faith is stronger than ever. He uses it all. Praying for you and your daughter. I have young children too and understand the heartbreak you must feel. But don’t lose hope and pray she comes home. God is so loving and faithful. I know from direct personal experience. 💓

Stages of life. Be patient. Hold firm. Pray she lives a long life to come back around. It often happens when raising their own children. Suddenly worldly things is repulsive once again. I remember the day I heard my daughter singing the lyrics to a song I enjoyed from my hey days and coming out of her sweet little mouth I was jarred into sobriety and said, nope. Time for a change lol❤️❤️❤️

I havent watched all the video yet, but I call the "follow yout heart" the disney princess lie.
I got interested in understanding mysticism and gnosticism to understand the symbols. Not to practice, by any means. Its amazing how what you see from the hollywood perspective is a religion. Their symbols and beliefs are paganism as old as time. Most false religions tell the same lie as the serpent in the garden.

Anton Lavey who was a notorious Satanist even said: "In previous centuries, the Church was the great controller, dictating morality, stifling free expression and posing as conservator of all great art and music. Instead we have TV, doing just as good a job at dictating fashions, thoughts, attitudes, objectives as did the Church, using many of the same techniques but doing it so palatably that no one notices."

@plucking...i qould like to watch lion king again and hear the teaching in that movie. Itz been too long forgotten now.
Also many good movies like Horse Whisperer and many (I'm sure many I'll never see) show adultery and itz okay bcs "feelings". Itz no wonder most unbelievers have little integrity. '"Believers" also. This is a grand undermining of Jesus/Biblical teachings. Actually making the person themselves their god.

@@IzzyNChrist - where do you see this? I must live in some weird intersection of people. I have never heard anyone talk like the strawman statements these "lies" are based off of. I'm guessing this is more coming from Christians who don't like pop-culture and struggle with liking it themselves. I'm sorry, maybe aside from the gender/sex issues, this doesn't really seem like the huge problem this passive aggressive fear mongering is regurgitating.

It's kind of funny. I am 29 years old, and I remember being taught how to "defend" myself against the first lie in school. Don't remember what grade, but it was early. We would read short paragraphs, then we would have to pick out the objective facts, and also the subjective opinions. Good stuff.
