Wagner paint sprayer - Review and testing 350M

  • Wagner airless paint sprayer is so much better than i was expecting. This is by far the easiest, user friendly and effective product for a range of painting applications and projects. The Wagner control pro 350 m is definitely worth the money and the results are flawless. This was my first time using an airless sprayer and i would definitely recommend it to any one. The paint i was using was super thick high quality paint and Wagner had no problem spraying it with no thinning required. The air less design allows for a perfect finish every time. Id just like to say thanks I purchased this from screwfix for a big factory due to a new dead line I panicked and looked of ways to cut time someone mensiond spraying so I youtubed it..
    I priced 3 weeks work to painting all the breeze block walls in a factory,
    But i did a good day of masking and blowing off crap off the walls and 3 days of spaying I was lost for words with this thing, I've never spayed in my life and littrely payed it's self off thank you so much the pressure on my head with this job was unreal

    Good video Bill. I love this exact sprayer and highly recommend never rolling paint ever again. it is much faster once you mask up everything. While the video is great, please for those at home: 1) WEAR a respirator ALWAYS when spraying! You dont want to be breathing in this stuff, and you WILL even if you can't see it. 2) I would mask up the fans entirely, not just the top of the fan connected to the ceiling like in this video. It's extremely likely you will get excess spray on anything you don't mask. Spend the extra hours to seal everything! 3) get the extension rod for the sprayer (about 100 bucks from Bunnings but worth it) for painting ceilings or hard to reach areas.

      Great comment. Do you need to backroll the paint after spraying it?

    • @claymoremarshall7076
      @claymoremarshall7076 Před 2 lety +2

      @@commanderkeen3787 A matter of taste. I personally wouln't roll any area you spray if possible because I like the uniform smooth finish from spraying. Plus it'll significantly increase the total time needed to paint walls (why not just rollin the first place instead if you want the rolled finish). You'll see the roller paint pattern on the sections of sprayed wet paint where you roll, which will look different to the nice smooth finish you'll get elsewhere from the sprayer. If some sections after spraying dont look right, instead of back rolling, let the paint all dry then spray the bits you missed again. If you experience wet paint droplet lines down the wall, instead of rolling them while they are still wet, sand them back and respray once the wall is dry

    Great vidoe.
    Overlap 50% ..
    Hard edge on spraying means either thick paint or pressure is low...
    Dont go over spray area twice" like u did with cornice " on cold days u will get runs.
    This is a airless unit that only sprays water based paints.
    For enamel paint u will need air assisted pump .
    It has 2 hoses from unit to gun 1 for paint and 1 for air.
    It can be done with your machine but u will need a tip size around 208 210 and must use a brush to go over sprayed area to clesn up paint runs .
    Thumbs up for grest video.

    This is so satisfying. Im going to buy one now. What do you use to mask up sockets and other such things? Looks like white paper tape? Not sure what you guys call it in AUS but its the stuff you can tear with yours hands, or is it proper paint tape? I often paint up to skirting boards and then find it easier to go round with a square damp sponge to create very fine lines and to mop up any overspray paint before it dries. I know other people who use baby wipes because of the acid in them which easily absorbed water based paint.

    • @benleysen
      @benleysen Před rokem +1

      Yes, and if you compare price between 350m and 350r, the 350m with unusable trolley costs 130€ more where I live. Makes no sense to buy the 350m for me.

    • @BlossomPainting
      @BlossomPainting Před rokem +1

      The round loop hook at the front of this machine is meant for the handle of a 5 gallon bucket. Rest the bucket handle on the hook and wheel away around. High boys are meant for commercial use with 5 gallon buckets… the short boys are used for small jobs when a 1 gallon bucket is being used. But most new machines have flexible hoses for both 1 and 5 gallon situations. 😊 you can also rest a 1 gallon bucket inside a 5 gallon bucket then the handle of the 5 gallon can hook on to the machine and the gallon can stays safe inside the larger 5 gallon bucket.

    Typically, I want to use mine for primer and emulsion paint when redoing whole houses.
    Has anyone measured the quantity of lost paint due to priming the lines plus the lost material after the project is done and the primed lines are still full?
    I like your style of content creation, any follow-up video for the cleaning process and what you used to keep it clean and ready for the next project?

    Also small step ladder get you up 1ft or so then you get it closer to the ceiling. Without extension thats the way to do it when your distance is wrong should be about 12 inches away. Any more your wasting alot of paint.. I realise this is your first time on one but if there is any mist at all youll greatly reduce that by the distance between gun and surface even though its a high production low overspray setup there still is a reasonable amount of silica dust and overspray.

    Ill give you a tip mate also when cleaning it out. Take the hoses of and wash them clean wash all the paint residue out on the lawn or laundry tub. Then put the hoses straight back in clean water.. Run the prime hose back into the tin of paint when you see it start to get watery switch to a seperate bucket or point it down a drain or a bathtub once you see clear comin out of the prime hose or even light milky white its clean and wash the main hose/gun out the same way. Just makes for a better clean up will make the unit last longer cleaning the hoses seperately by hand greatly improves cleaning them.. So clean suction hoses drop in clean water reconnect reprime until comes out clear then switch to pray same practice. Pull the guard off dont leave the tip on as that wears the tip. Then next start up its nice and clean.

    Hi Bill, fantastic review - You're a natural on the sprayer!
    One quick tip, if you bump the pressure up just a touch, you'll see those lines on the edges of the spray pattern disappear into a more even rolloff.
    We'll shoot you an email about the Control Pro 150 now..

      Thanks for the tips, I realized after the initial testing on the wall that my pressure was low. After adjusting the pressure, it was flawless

    Am not a full time painter but have two fences to paint, total 100m or so, could not be bothered with a brush. Have ordered the small floor unit 300w 150 and look forward to receiving and using it.
    Have used a Wagner airless gun in the 70s in Germany and remember it gave no trouble. They know what they're doing!
