The problem is that people don't read the bible, they only listen to their Pastor/Minister. I was misled & deceived for almost 60 years. I heard a false teacher "quote" scripture, and for some reason it didn't sit right with me, so I looked it up in the bible. Sure enough, they were taking it out of context & using it to justify their false doctrine. I started reading the bible and have been on a journey to know the truth since then and I thank God that I found the Church of Christ. Thanks for all you do, guys. Love your podcast.

I too was baptized at age 9 and raised in the Church because of what I was taught. I knew the steps and went through the motions of what I was taught, but the two ingredient that I did not have was full understanding, nor did it come from my heart. You see Jesus alway, always sees the heart of man and knows your inward thoughts. It wasn’t until I read bits of Act 18:24 thru Acts 19. Here their understanding was not complete and they were baptized again. I guess these are personal questions I had to ask myself. I ponder the scriptures in my mind and in my heart, I came to myself and realized my baptism was complete. I hope this scripture helps you.

Wow great episode. The point Scott made about trusting God’s word even over true servants of God was really interesting and good

Hey my name is Michael. I had a question about getting baptized for the second time. I got baptized when I was young I believed in god but I didn't know about repentance and stuff. I'm 27 now and I have been Hungary for scripture. My wife has not been baptized. Do you think it's ok if I get baptized with her? I'm not doubting that it worked the first time but I didn't know anything about the gospel and I went back to sinning nonstop. The lord has cleaned me up and been working in my life. I want to be honorable in his eyes and obey his words. Basically I'm just asking is it ok to get baptized twice. Is that a sin? Weird question I know.

no man in the first u were baptized with wrong perception and knowledge so it doesn't count it is like a bath if u believe repent confess and if u wanna be baptized for the remission of sin man go ahead it is not sinning. and u will be added to the church of the new testament u read in the bible. So man don't wait go and get baptized and wash aways ur sin calling on the name of the lord. God bless u. I wish u all the best man. And I hope they will help u too when they see it

I mean yes he is not to be rude but ya. 1peter 3:21 clearly says baptism saves not as a Saturday bath but as an appeal for good consciousness to God, but u know what todd Friel said he literally turn into something that it doesn't say also acts 22:16 they change the context and make it something that doesn't give sense. I mean open ur bible and read for ur self.

@@philarevolutionarywarriorp8295 awesome question take the book of acts and see how each one was baptised, see how the people responded to the message spoken to them.

@@onesimustesfaye7764 this is an awesome point, having all these scriptures around how can he advocate saying baptism is not necessary for salvation, he is separating faith from action, Abraham acted upon his faith by sacrificing Isaac. There is action as a requirement for faith, James says faith without works are dead.

@@charlesfranklin2300 I agree Baptism is necessary for salvation. Just wanted to hear how Friel was spinning it otherwise. I've found him in error (if not full blown heresy) on 2 other doctrine issues:
      1. He defends the man made doctrine of OSAS.
      2. He denies the Clear biblical teaching of the marital Covenant being for life and gives several FALSE reasons people can divorce, and then remarry after.
So I'm not surprised he's wrong on this too. Jusy another popular but FALSE Modern, contemporary "preacher"
