Aaron, Scott and Tucker, I don't know if you need more money to extend these episodes, but please, you could go much deeper. Teaching the lost is paramount and you drive good points, but extend this to more episodes. A four part series on HOW we got the bible. An episode to teach people how to recognize context. Keep using more Greek and Aramaic. The RC church authorizes the papacy by using Jesus telling Peter "and upon this rock I will build my church". Please parse and exegete this passage and its origins, language and meaning. Great job, keep up the good work. CJ

I really want to share this with whoever takes time to read this comment. Watch 4:11-5:08 If we were to rank a few sins, we would rank murder above lying or envy, because people don't generally picture these sins as being as bad as murdering someone. That is because murder has a more obvious effect on us and those around us. Something like envy doesn't harm anyone in that way. I think its important to remember that the nature of sin is not against people, it is in fact rebellion against GOD. Sin hurting our brothers and sisters is an after effect that GOD wants us to avoid. We often don't see the hurt the we cause as obviously when lying or other sins that we may call small. GOD sees is and he sees the discordance that we cause within our own spirits and the rift we create between ourselves and GOD. He clearly commands us against these things and He does not overlook sins according to what humans see as not being a big deal. Jesus wants us to have a full life, and following these commands is a road map to getting there.

I hear stories about how someone will die in the hospital but come back; but they say they saw heaven and a dead loved one, etc (ie, the film "Heaven is real") but how is that true if the dead remain dead until Jesus returns? Wouldn't that mean NO one is in heaven?

Interested to see the perspective from y’all. When it talks about Jesus coming back it always says the dead will rise. Assuming Christians go to heaven right after death. How would the dead rise again? I’ve always wondered if it’s a sleeping state of some kind when we pass

God created all humans with a conscience and God is so super fair that He would judge us based on that "if" someone did not receive the gospel, We must trust that He knows our hearts more than what we can see that a person shows us

Paul links 1 Corinthians 11:2-16 to creation. đŸ€” Could be he is saying that the churches of Christ don't do what they are doing, as they are reverting to their pagan ways or the way they worship when he came to Corinth.

I think god hates lying because you are breaking reality when we lie. Therefore one may have to live within there lie to fulfill their story. It can only be broken with confession, truth, or else you will continue to break reality.

Firstly, The Hebrew bible (OLD TESTAMENT) was canonized over many years and that was so because there was always some dispute as to what books should be included and what should not. We DO NOT know what version of the Hebrew bible existed in Christ's time and if he endorsed any. In Luke 24 : 44 however, Jesus referred to the LAW, THE PROPHETS and the PSALMS as they all testified of him. After Christ's death and resurrection, the NEW TESTAMENT came into existence and was canonized around the 4th century. This 'testament' contains the Gospels in which Christ's life, teachings, death and resurrection are noted, the formation of the early church seen through the Acts of the Apostles, letters to different people and churches by the Apostle Paul, Peter, James and John as well as by lesser known disciples such as Jude and Philemon and finally the book of Revelations which is prophetic in nature. Out of all of the books of the New Testament, Christ words directly spoken by him to his followers are recorded only in the Gospels and in the book of Revelation. Taking this in account, one cannot conclude that the bible is the word of God but rather within PARTS of the bible are the words of God.
What God said to his people and what Christ said to the early church had and has NO CONFUSION. It is what has been said otherwise that has caused the world to have so many 'Christian denominations'. Paul's letters in particular is where all the bickering begins. Churches today have ERRONEOUSLY taken Paul's INSTRUCTIONS to the churches of his day and made them LAW for churches of TODAY ignorantly assuming that 1) everything that Paul said was given to him by Christ himself to tell the church and 2) Paul was like the SON OF GOD himself and as such his teachings should be accepted without question which for me is utter BLASPHEMY.
The Apostle Paul said that he does not suffer a woman to teach nor to usurp authority over THE man because man was first formed and then the woman and the man was not deceived but the woman. I can say without fear that in this Paul was WRONG. He was wrong to believe that authority had anything to do with who was made first as it was ONLY after Eve had sinned that God said that HER HUSBAND (not any and every man mind you) would have the rule over her. Prior to this, neither Adam or Eve had rule over each other and whereas Paul see Eve being the one that was deceived as something that works against her when it speaks to authority, I believe that Adam being BLATANTLY and PRESUMPTIOUSLY DISOBEDIENT is even worse. Who are you one might ask? Just a child of God in whom his spirit dwells I will say and the Apostle Paul was a MAN OF GOD but was still a MAN.
What Christendom has done is to elevate the Apostle to the status of the SON OF GOD himself and have made doctrines out of his teachings, equating them to matters of salvation contingent on whether one believed or not. THIS is the reason why Christendom is a HOT MESS today and have been so for many years. There is a reason why the Apostle Peter said what he did about Paul's writings in
2Peter 3: 16. People will do well to take note.

So tell us, which version of the bible is accurate and which one should we follow. I would ask that you watch Daniel Wallace who is a professor of NT authenticity on CZcams. There were not denominations up until 150 a.d. Paul was addressing churches that had error. Do you know the context of "I do not suffer a woman to teach..."?. You are correct that Adam should have been with his wife protecting her, but Eve should have consulted with God after being whispered to by the "shining one". We do NOT treat in the churches that I know Paul as the son of God. He himself said in Romans 7 "Oh wretched man that I am". Does this mean we pitch out his teachings? Dr. Norman Geisler and others authenticate the validity of the word. So, if you will (I am being intellectually honest here) which version, how should we live and which church body should we be enjoined with?

    • @aliciamcdonald7105
      @aliciamcdonald7105 Pƙed rokem

@@thedynamicsolo4232 First let me say that I appreciate your approach to my statements. I personally do not fully endorse ANY version of the bible because they all (based on what I have observed) contain some sort of translation error.
The point I was making about the bible though does not necessarily speak to this matter but more to what IS or what IS NOT contained in the bible.
Most 'Christians' believe that the whole bible is SCRIPTURE and that is INCORRECT. Jesus said in John 5 : 9 that scriptures are those that TESTIFY OF HIM. In Luke 24 : 44, Jesus identified those scriptures, the LAW, the PROPHETS and the PSALMS. Some of these scriptures are NOT even in the OLD TESTAMENT as we have it today.
The advent of Jesus and his sacrifice is the main theme of the Gospels (GOOD NEWS) and there is no confusion here. As I stated before, where wrangling, fraction and dissension has arisen is mainly based on what exist OUTSIDE of the Gospels particularly Paul's epistles.
AGAIN, his INSTRUCTIONS to a church or churches in his day has ERRONEOUSLY been made Law for the church in this time and all it has achieved is the formation of as many ' Christian' denominations as there are actual religions ALL proclaiming that they are RIGHT while denouncing others that don't believe and teach as they do. WHAT MADNESS!
My answer to this is to read ANY bible but ALWAYS have a HEBREW and GREEK one to help translate the ORIGINAL text, seek to understand GOD and rely PRIMARILY on the Holy Spirit to be your TEACHER and not MAN.
