"Sin, left unchecked, always worsens. " That is so true. Always. We need God every second of every day.
We all need many more lessons on the subject of sins
I am thankful that my sins were forgiven 2000 years ago and I am saved by my belief of the gospel of the grace of God - I Corinthians 15:1-4.
Who would call it a sin to not rightly divide the word of truth? II Timothy 2:15.

*James 1:*
14 But *every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of HIS OWN LUST,* and enticed.
15 Then when lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth sin: and sin, when it is finished, bringeth forth death.
Sin sucks. And the only thing that can save me from its eternal consequences is my faith in the death burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ.
Romans 1:26 For this reason God gave them up to dishonorable passions. For their women exchanged natural relations for those that are contrary to nature;
Cain didn't bring the first fruits.
Gen 3:6 and 1 Jn 2:15 are not interpreting what you are teaching here: good, delight and desire are not the same thing as lust and pride respectively.
