Sepultura was untouchable at that time!
Awesome band!
Fan since -87
Agreed. One of the best shows I ever saw was Sepultura with Ministry.
I saw them on this tour. Beneath The Remains changed my life. Probably the best album to come out at that time.
@@boneheded2819 That is awesome!
I wish I was there but I was too young ( well that is what my mom said).
Seeing Sepultura live in their prime...what a dream!
I think Beneath is the greatest deaththrash-record there is. It is just perfect album. Definitely my favourite album from them.
Prime Sepultura and Death are the bands for me, even today.
Same. I'm 52 and am so happy I got to see the cool bands. In their prime.
yea im from venezuela in 94 sow him live fucking awesome
I'm from Colombia, south america. I have been listening to metal fro the last 5 years. Nowadays I'm obssesed with Sepultura, not only by their music but also by their lyrics that are about the strugles of living in Latin America, the civil wars, the dictatorships, the violence, the gangs. I really feel indentify by them. Long live Brazil 🤟🏻🇧🇷
Saludos desde Brasil, hermano 🇧🇷🇨🇴
@@colecionadordotimao saludos desde Colombia mi pana. 🤟🏻🇧🇷
Check "Sarcófago - Midnight Queen" and the lyrics.
My favourite band from there was Guahaihoque!
Now go listen to Sodom(German thrash band)😅
One of the monsters of Thrash metal!! Sepultura from Brazil!
out with Anthrax in with Sepultura for the big 4!
Brasil aqui
I'm 45, I still have this on cassette tape when it came out in '91. It's definitely one of my all time favorites.
This video is filmed in November 1991 in Barcelona. Sepultura performed two nights. One of the best concerts I've ever seen. Thanks for the review. greetings from Barcelona.
Igor cavalera....one of the best drummer ever exist
He's a fuckin' legend
With groove like Vinnie Paul
I agree
Fortunately there is no limit to how many can be 'one of the best' . The more the merrier 🤘🤘
I modeled everything about how I play today from him. The band who wrapped batteries with electric tape to look like bullet belts! Beasts
"Arise" is still one of the favorite albums I ever had. I bought it as vinyl, when it was just released in 1991.
31 years later I had the pleasure to see Sepultura live for my very first time.
It was a blast! ⚒
The whole concert is amazing ❤ enjoy your Sepultura journey
Sepultura from Brazil 🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷🤘🤘 Hugs from Brazil to everyone
Hugs to you and Brazil! ❤️🤗
Now you need to do Dead Embryonic Cells from this same concert
Maybe the heaviest breakdown of all time.
@@Scooby_Dum do you know crystal ball by candlemass?
Yeaaaaa
And altered state from the same concert!!! lml!!
Agreed ! Badass song ! That and Desperate Cry had the heaviest breakdowns ever ! My jaw dropped when that record came out ! I heard a little of Beneath the Remains and the song Troops of Doom off earlier stuff first , but when i bought Arise i was hooked !
It was around this time I went to my first Sepultura concert when they were promoting their 'Arise' album. What an experience that was! The whole floor of the concert hall was shaking with the double bass drums and we were deafened by the wall of sound from the instruments. Bodies were flying everywhere as people went mad moshing. Afterwards I was deaf for 2 days... seriously, no joke. To me that was when the band were at their best. I even managed to meet them before the show and get my album cover signed which was an added bonus! Really great times!
Have loved them since the 80's
This is old Sepultura from 1991 when they were starting to break big, coming out of Brazil in 1989 and establishing themselves as a death metal band... They evolved after this album ('Arise') and began incorporating traditional Brazilian rhythms and stepped out of the death metal genre, while still being an extreme metal band. The classic Sepultura is no longer together (since 1997), and split into 2 entities...
Sepultura came together in Brazil in 1984 as teenagers... brothers Max Cavalera (vocals & guitar) and Iggor Cavalera (drums) wanted a raw, abrasive band w/ the sound of Venom & early Celtic Frost... the band settled on Jairo Guedz (lead guitar) and Paulo Jr. (bass) and recorded an EP 'Bestial devastation' in 1985 before releasing the debut album 'Morbid visions' in 1986. The band moved to Sao Paulo in 1987 and Andreas Kisser (lead guitar) replaced Jairo and the band recorded the album 'Schizophrenia', which was a remarkable evolution from the first album w/ Kisser's remarkable skills and songwriting coming in...
Sepultura was signed to a worldwide contract w/ Roadrunner Records in 1989 and introduced themselves to the world w/ the album 'Beneath the remains'... followed by 'Arise' in 1991, which sent Sepultura to the top of the extreme metal genre. The next album 'Chaos A.D.' would see Sepultura rise to the popularity of the biggest thrash bands of the time, like Slayer, Anthrax and Testament... it was also a maturity for the band as they slowed the rhythms to incorporate more Brazilian music influences, and the album eventually sold gold in the US (half million copies)... 'Roots' was released in 1996 and had tracks recorded w/ indigenous Brazilian tribes and helped start the 'nu metal' genre w/ slower tempos, layered guitars and unorthodox beats and rhythms, becoming a success worldwide.
Unfortunately, there were issues in Sepultura that led to Max Cavalera leaving the band in late '96... his wife Gloria was the band's manager and the other 3 had disagreements w/ how the band was being promoted and handled. Gloria did not have her contract renewed, Sepultura voted to get new managers... and Max left w/ her to form the band Soulfly... Iggor Cavalera stayed in Sepultura until 2006, leaving to reconcile w/ his brother Max and started a new band Cavalera Conspiracy, as well as making electronic music w/ his 2nd wife as Mixhell... the 2 brother often tour as Max & Iggor Cavalera, playing old Sepultura songs in concert... However, neither Soulfly nor Cavalera Conspiracy reached the heights of popularity of the classic Sepultura.
Meanwhile, Sepultura opted to seek a new vocalist, and hired American hardcore frontman Derrick Green in 1998 w/ Andreas Kisser (guitar), Paulo Jr. (bass) and Iggor Cavalera (drums)... but the band's popularity declined over the next 2 albums - 'Against' (1998) and 'Nation' (2001)... the music went in a different direction than Max's in Soulfly. Iggor Cavalera played on 2 more albums ('Roorback' in 2003 and 'Dante XXI' in 2006) before leaving... Jean Dolabella (drums) replaced him from 2006 to 2011... Eloy Casagrande (drums) joined in 2012 and re-energized Sepultura w/ his exception drumming skills. Their latest album is 'Quadra' in 2020. Sepultura plays both older material mixed in w/ new songs in concert.
For the classic Sepultura, check out - 'Refuse/ resist'... 'Dead embryonic cells'... 'Roots bloody roots'... 'Territory'... 'Attitude'... 'Inner self'... 🤘🤘🔥🔥
Current Sepultura - 'Kairos'... 'Isolation'... 'Convicted in life'... 'What I do!'... 'Sepulnation'.
And Soulfly (Max Cavalera's band) - 'Back to the primitive'... 'Prophecy'... 'Eye for an eye'... 'Rise of the fallen'... 'Carved inside'.
I think "Beneath the Remains" is my favorite Sepultura album.
Yes, the same here!
Beneath, Arise Ad Caos AD...a perfect trilogy!!!
@@marcosbressan4175 should start from schizophrenia
Definitely their best album
Saw them twice in 94 and 96. Best live metal band I ever saw.
Who ever requested this did you a huge favor!
YEAH SHEA!!!
I’m diggin you diggin this!! 🤘🤘🤘🤘
Yes, more Sepultura!
those days, Sepultura was no1 thrash band on globe
Sep at their absolute apex. The album version is 240 quarter note bpm. That show was significantly faster, and tighter than a fish's.
I saw them live in 1996 at the "Volkshaus" Zürich....💥...it was one of the best concert I have ever seen...🔥... ⚡️🎸...SEPULTURA one of the best metal band at that time...!!! 🤘...🤘...🤘
metal greetings from 🇨🇭
you should check out "inquisition symphony" from the 1987 album "Schizophrenia" (instrumental) absolutely awesome....
up to and including roots all SEPULTURA albums are awesome....🤘🔥💥⚡️
Pure Brazilian local sound.Thank God Igor and Max.
Thrash Metal from a time when Thrash Metal was still Thrash Metal.
Uncompromisingly brutal, hard, fast, not unnecessarily complicated and above all alive.
When the power of this music pulled your feet away.
Almost everything that came after it somehow feels unimaginative or dead.
I recommend Beneath the Remains, Mass Hynosis, Slaves of Pain and Primitive Future
Had it on cassette and had the vhs. AND now i feel old.
One of the best metal concerts EVER.. SEPULTURA was on fire!!!!!!!
This was song number ONE for that concert. It gets even crazier from there.
Thanks for the reaction to Brazilian metal! it matters a lot to us!
one of my top 3 concerts ever!
91…that’s the first year I saw sepultura live. So good.
This was propably one of the heviest band in the world that time (with global success). As i was younger and played (guitar) with my friends/bands, it was always nice to play Sepultura songs and blast energy out 😄. And even that it is hard, fast and aggressive we were always laughing after playing them songs. It fas fun.
I still listen this album often when i do dishes or clean in my apartment. It always gives good boost when you do something like that 😂.
Should check entire concert... You will be surprised to see how great they was and they still are.. In my opinion they was to much underrated... Thank you to reacting to Sepultura ❤️❤️❤️
I had a big Sepultura poster in my room for years when I was young. Max, Igor, Andreas and Paulo were there in my glad and my sad days ❤
Awesome! We played (opened) on this tour. What a great time for metal.
Saw them live in Chicago with the band Morbid Angel opening for them back in the day.
Melhor formação do sepultura 🇧🇷❤️
You definitely need to hear Desperate Cry now
I got a burned CD from a friend when I turned 15 in 2003 and this was the first thing I heard. Been a fan ever since!
Sepultura in live concert performances is unbeatable…. Forget about the rest
I saw this amazing band at their pinnacle on this tour at the Cleveland Agora. As one of the openers was playing Max suddenly appeared 2 rows behind us in the balcony. Being none too shy I got up and went over to chat with him for a few minutes. As with most metal musicians I've talked with Max came across as a well grounded and humble guy. During their set Igor suddenly stopped the show, threw his sticks into the pit and pointed out a couple of guys who were getting a bit too violent. Bouncers stepped in and escorted the two out. The rest of the show was absolutely flawless and one of the greatest shows I've seen in my 65 years.
Brings me back to the childhood days of jumping on the trampoline and head banging. 😆 🤣
I still remember whey starting to play in some clubs in my town Belo Horizonte, MG - Brazil... in around 1985 or 1986 ..but it didnt take them long .. and they start doing international concerts... 🤘😎🤘...
Best live performance in metal ever
Cheers to whoever sponsored this one! Rawr!
thank You so much for Your reaction!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You are a Pretty Dream!!!!!!
Breathtaking Beauty!!!
Sepultura, the original, with Max, Igor
changed my life
I was 13 when the CD came out and I was listening to Iron Maiden, Motörhead and stuff like that. When a friend came with this CD and from there it was just Sepultura until they broke up in the 90's. Max C. also founded Nailbomb, Soulfly and Cavalera Conspiracy.
The Seps... legends...
This video was shot in Barcelona
The soundtrack of my teens in Brazil (late 80s/early90s). SEPULTURA É FODA 🤘🏻
Lol the studio version was already ridiculously fast, but nothing like this. I recommend checking that out… its the opening track on the Arise album from 1991. Classic album, really awesome!
I came here to say
SEPULTURA DO BRASIL!!!
Pride of our country =)
Carry on
YES! Effing Sepultura! Haven't heard these guys in so long.
You need to watch this whole show (Under Siege Live in Barcelona), it's a beast.
In an interview, vocalist Max Cavalera comments that after the end of the show, there were tufts of calebo on the floor.
Imagine how wild it was!
Greetings from Brazil!!! 🤘🏼🇧🇷
Sepultura from Brasil!!!!
Love their cover of Motorhead's Orgasmatron
Met Sepultura in 1992 at Bogarts in Cincinnati Ohio when I was 15. The tour bus was getting ready to pull out and my older cousin Jeff stopped the bus cause I didn't have Max's autograph. He personally came off the bus, bullshitted with us, and I got my autograph!!
Wow.. Old, but goldes! Sepultura it's the best of the best trash metal band!
The Cavalera brothers are up there with the Abbott brothers to me. As a drummer Igor and Vinny were and are my idols.
This takes me back to my youth.
in that same concert on the song "troops of doom" you can actually see someone fly from the ceiling into the pit...check it! :)
*stops video 10 times
*11th time: "We need to take a breather."
I loved this react! 🇧🇷🤘🏽
Awesome song and glad you liked it:D
I love Sepultura. Well until "Roots" album. Last time I saw them live was in 1996.
These guys have been around for a long time. Seen them in concert 9 times. Old school metal! Glad you enjoyed it little lady. If you are going down this road a little. Check out Iron Maiden. My favorite. 😁
9? wow, that's awesome..... how many times did u catch them with max?
Very good
Being a metal drummer is not easy. You need not only technique but also strength and stamina. Some metal drummers can go much faster than any normal drummer can imagine. Need many years of practice to get to a good level. Igor was a good metal drummer when he was in Sepultura. I do not care what he does now. He left the world of real metal years ago together with his brother.
I watch this live video at least once a week at the gym.
Sepultura...
By far the best...
Brazilian pride. The Concept of "big 5" was heavily discussed in the 90´s because of them.
The Best forever muito bom mesmo
La banda de mi adolescencia, 80's y 90's !🤟😝🍻
Sepultura is my top favorite metal of all time

Nah mannnnn:….no no nooo it’s not speed metal..it’s Brazilian death/thrash metal bro. Get it right and FEEL IT!! Inner self desperate cry Amen Nomad
That whole live show rocked ! Thats only the start lol ! But i truly suggest to listen to the studio tracks first . THEN see them go live !! I promise it will make more sense and heighten the experience .
The one and only Max Cavalera, Everything he touches is gold!
Sepultura era e continua insano!!! Lógico que a década de 90 foi seu auge com os irmãos Cavalera!!!!!
OMG i love the Troops of Doom´s Riff... amazing

Peak Sepultura right there. Good recommendation 👍🤘
That video was part of the Live in Barcelona Spain . Part of the 91 tour they were doing . The Arise album was their real break through
Album after the succesful Beneath the Remains . It was at that time I had just heard of them and started listening to them . Later that year they came to the UK and we saw them in Manchester International 2 theatre. They were the headliners with Sacred Reich as the main support band . One hell of a night and show . A long time ago for me now and Im a lot older ( LOL )
I still have the VHS video of this show . ( shows how old I am LOL )
VHS? What's that? Haha! Just kidding. Great info by the way. I am working on finding ways to get around copyright but CZcams is getting pretty bad for music reactions.
Here's to all the jokers watching this who attended show like this back in the day. You really had to be there to fully get what that scene was like. Leaving a show, battered, bruised and bloody. The blood and sweat wasn't all yours either. As Paul Baloff wrote, we were "Bonded by Blood."
I do love sepultura
Sepultura é do Brasil 🇧🇷
Sepultura world tour 1991...Barcelona!! 🤘🤘
Classic sepultura erea 👍👍👍I remember getting this album when it came out and a huge influence in my guitar playing 👊👊👊 (gaz thomas warlord uk 👍👍👍)
